The Roof

As I mention in another review for a pizza place in Salem, we visit often but most of the time in October when it's so busy, you don't get to enjoy the best Salem has to offer.

Well our friends went on a tour and we had a couple of hours to kill, so we decided to check this place out. There was no wait to get a drink at the roof and although it was a bit chilly, it was a nice first day of fall so we walked right up.

We only had a couple of drinks and some nachos for an appetizer, but everything was great, even a blueberry root beer I tried that was one of the best sodas I've tried that wasn't a cola.

But the next party is the view of Salem from there. The prices for our drinks was decent and I would go there again, even if it were just for the atmosphere (and to try a crab dip I saw after we ordered the nachos :p).

Perched atop the Hotel Salem, 'The Roof' is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. Our recent visit during Salem's bustling October Halloween festivities further cemented its place as a must-stop locale. As the elevator doors open, you're greeted with panoramic skyline views of Salem that simply take your breath away.

Our lunchtime visit was met with a palpable energy. Even with the festive hustle and bustle, the staff were attentive, making sure every guest felt valued. While the menu was concise, it didn't skimp on flavor. We particularly enjoyed their diverse taco offerings and bowls - every bite seemed to tell a story. The accompanying wine and beer list, though not exhaustive, was thoughtfully curated to suit various palates.

Past visits during the evening have offered us the sheer joy of witnessing some of the most mesmerizing sunsets from the rooftop bar. While it's a fun family lunch spot, it also holds memories of romantic evenings spent under the Salem sky.

In essence, whether you're there for the views, the vibes, or the victuals, 'The Roof' is sure to impress. Highly recommended for both first-timers and seasoned Salem visitors.

I just had Thee Best experience at Salem Hotel Rooftop. Your Server Tyler is so patient, kind, funny, and outright exceptional young man.

Being there to celebrate a very special birthday, Tyler went above and beyond to make this day the one to remember.

We had a large group and enjoyed ourselves so much, our table was covered with delicious food. We laughed and enjoyed watching the Sunset over a beautiful city. At night the music continues and the atmosphere was so vibrant and healing.

Omgggggg the GAUC and chicken quesadilla!!!! This place was a vibe Monday 10/23. The sun was sunning. The food was fooding. The drinks were amazing. The staff was fun! You can tell they definitely like their job and who they work with.

Had the BEST experience yesterday at The Roof! The hosts were extremely accommodating and moved us to the lounge seating since my sister-in-law was pregnant. The food was quick and absolutely delicious. It had something for everyone! As a vegetarian the cauliflower tacos were perfect! Lastly, our server Dani was the kindest and most attentive server I’ve ever had during busy spooky season. She even took a group photo of us! The view was stunning and the service was 10/10 - I absolutely recommend! Just be kind and patient with the staff and you’ll have a great experience in October:)

This was our favorite place while visiting Salem. Quick service. Amazing food and drinks and such a fun atmosphere. The staff was so friendly and Lexi made us feel so welcome! She was so amazing and sweet the entire time she served us!

I ordered the pollo tacos and the Caribbean punch. Both excellent! Loved enjoying my meal on the roof top and servers were friendly as well. Good experience overall.

Very chill vibe up on the rooftop. I had a really great time meeting a friend for drinks. They had a good signature cocktail selection, and definitely weren't stingy on the alcohol pours!! Our server was very friendly and attentive. The guac was super delicious. And of course the view was amazing!

My wife and I over heard this place while in line at a store. So we had to try it out. The best view in Salem. The drink selections are the best in Salem. My wife and I just had the quac and chips but the chips and avacado dip was delicious. Have to visit this place.

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Salem!

We had a birthday party at The Roof and everything was perfect, the view, the atmosphere, the weather and not to mention the staff! Caroline waited on us and she was phenomenal, very attentive and kind. She managed our large group as well as multiple smaller tables with such ease, and always with a smile and pleasant attitude. We can't say enough nice things about Caroline!

I made the reservations and discussed all the details of the party with Olivia beforehand through email and she was wonderful to work with. She always responded to my emails in a timely manner.

Let me be very clear. The Roof is wonderfully high, and has a nice view of the surrounding area.

However, you are coming here to go head on with giant nachos. Should you add chicken to those nachos, they include a Costco sized breast which has been roughly shredded, leaving you with nice large pieces to enjoy.

Go to The Roof. Get you some nachos.

Great place to go for some dinner and drinks. This place might have made the best chicken quesidilla I've ever eaten. The margarita was pretty dang good too. Good view and comfy seats were a bonus.

This is a great place for drinks and appetizers! The atmosphere is wonderful. We went at sunset and it was perfect!

Dakota was awesome! Super friendly and mixed some excellent drinks. Also gave me good recommendations for things to do around the city. Plus he may have the best hair in Salem 😜. Rooftop views were nice although not breathtaking, but I would definitely say this is a cool spot to check out.

Great food, drinks, and service. Couple that with an unbeatable view of Salem, and you’re well on your way to a great night out. A solid option for casual, after-work drinks and organized gatherings with friends alike.

We went to the Roof for the first time tonight. Food was AMAZING, service was great! We even were the last table of the season so the chef paid our tab! Great people!! Will DEFINITELY go again!!!

Food was very good. Waitstaff respected guidelines. Was awesome being up on a rooftop while enjoying proper distancing. Will go again in the future.
