On A Roll Cafe And Catering

Absolutely fantastic! On A Roll was a gamble for us, as we were visiting the area for an overnight after seeing local show. We're pretty picky about our breakfast sammiches, so we were on the hunt for some of the local strong contenders. On A Roll had a welcoming feel after finding a spot in the ample parking lot, luring us in with Brunch Jazz playing from a carefully placed speaker hidden outside the restaurant. The vibe inside was calm and quiet, just what you need at 11AM on a Sunday morning. We got a table right away, and had a short wait to get served coffee and water. The coffee is on point, not the usual diner pour with tannins that slap your tonsils, but instead a warming miasma of no-nonsense arabica delight.

The food: cannot give the place enough props for doing the basics right, including making their own bread in-house, and even more tantalizaing, their own handmade sausage. I make my own bread and sausage for my wife in our own house, so it was nice to meet another chef who gets it. French Toast was comprised of thick multigrain slices with real local maple syrup, while the pancakes had real strawberries and granola in them in perfect ratios. Food overall was quick, yet very high quality, and really made us feel home away from home. The sausage itself was the highlight of the show (for me), and had strong notes of brown sugar, fresh sage, and crushed rosemary along with plenty of salt, all in a generous patty that seems grilled with a weight on top so it doesn't curl on you. Perfectly cooked, 10/10, once you try it you'll never go back.

Chose this location for breakfast with a family group of 8 since it was quite convenient to the hotel we were staying at across the street. There was plenty of seating for us on a Saturday morning at 9am, though the place had plenty of customers. The service was excellent as we were being attended to by a few individuals. It happened to be an usually cool morning, but the coffee was hot and fresh to get us all warmed up. The fresh baked blueberry muffins were absolutely delicious and everyone seemed quite satisfied with their meals, ranging from bacon and eggs, to avocado toast, lemon ricotta pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. The coffee refills kept coming and the staff really kept on top of our needs. A wonderful place that I’d highly recommend!

On a Roll catered our recent wedding reception and they did a fantastic job! Owner David was really wonderful to work with through the process. He was accommodating, flexible, and kind. He and his staff seem to really care about making their customers happy. The food was great— our family and friends loved it!! I highly recommend them!! (Wish I had a better picture to share of the charcuterie board, we missed cocktail hour along with our photographers, but I heard it was a stand out!)

Excellent breakfast restaurant with a varied menu, ample indoor and outdoor seating. Nice atmosphere with plantings and trees surrounding their patio and gazebo. We initially had a bit of trouble finding the place because the entrance is set back from the parking lot (which is actually good visually and acoustically). Payment in cash gets you a small discount.

Excellent place with all freshly handmade foods. We had lunch. The menu had so much to offer for gluten free, vegan vegetarian and more. The owner/chef David was there (he is always there) greeting and seating many of his guests. Highly recommend!

Great place for breakfast or lunch. The staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. The portions are huge. My wife loved her mimosas and my coffee was good. The restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms. This will be our go-to breakfast or brunch place from now on.

Lovely breakfast with homemade sourdough bread. Warm and cozy atmosphere with nice jazz music playing gently in the background. Staff was friendly and efficient.

I had breakfast here with three other persons on 7/31/23. It was fabulous. The food was excellent. I had the Coconut pecan French toast and it was scrumptious. All servings were extremely generous and well presented. My wife had the ricotta lemon pancakes and was not disappointed. The service was timely and good. I highly recommend this restaurant and you better come hungry or you will have leftovers to take home! Kudos to the owner, chef and serving staff.

This is my go to when I want to meet someone for breakfast. The simplicity of the menu makes decisions easy. I have had most everything on the and I have never been disappointed. Start your day with a great meal!

Came here on a whim since our usual bf place in Lenox was closed -- and so glad we did!! Pleasant outdoor seating on picnic tables with bright umbrellas surrounded by trees & a small pond, or the shaded side porch. Excellent prompt service and the food was fresh & delicious -- everything with generous portions. They make their own chicken-apple sausage which was soo good! Eggs tasted country fresh with griddled thick cut ham. Bacon was thick cut and cooked perfectly. Yogurt came with homemade crunchy granola & an array of freshly cut fruit. Only negative was the coffee which was kinda bland & a little burnt. (Would like to see them change to one of the local roasters in the area.). Overall, highly recommend & look forward to returning next time we are in the Berkshires!

So clean, the food is so fresh and delicious every time..
The Chef's menu is fabulous, with his own twist to some of his dishes, just delicious

Consistently excellent over the years I've been going there.

The menu is all over the place cuisine-wise so you'll definitely find something you like, or you can just point at random and love it. Everything is a distinctive culinary creation.

The staff are always friendly and cheerful. Parking is no problem at all. Nice outdoor seating though it does fill up fast. Has a wide wheelchair ramp.

Didn't get to try the place because I came right after it closed 😕 but it was still worth the drive and checking it out I'm more than interested in revisiting based on a customer's good and positive experience and feedback its always nice to speak to nice people I will give this place an honest chance because the atmosphere and views here are beyond amazing perfect location ♥

This place had great regional art that was very lovely and quirky. The food (eggs and hash browns and toast) was excellent, service was friendly. I was visiting from out of town to see a sick relative, and was happy to discover a homey refuge. I also left my credit card, and they very kindly sent it to me. THIS IS A PLACE you want to frequent for the very best reasons. Good food, good people, good surroundings.

They know how to make good, tasty food! Ordered breakfast through door dash today. Perfection. Everything came warm. Blueberry pancakes cooked perfectly. Included enough butter and syrup. The breakfast sausage was amazing. Potatoes delish! Breakfast sandwich was just enough. Everything tasted as it should (not like most places that taste like lard) Very satisfying breakfast. Thank you. Looking forward to our next breakfast!!
