Butternut Ski Area and Tubing Center

I absolutely loved this place. My 1st time skiing and won't be the last. The lodging and food were also great. More than I thought it would be. If the temperature had not been in the negative digits it would have been even better.

Ski Butternut is such a great mountain! We went for 3 days this week - two kids did lessons and all of us enjoyed skiing. The instructors are very helpful, rental staff is friendly, and everyone is so kind and helpful. Recommend for first time skiers and experts!

A great choice for skiing in the Berkshires, Butternut especially shines on bright bluebird days.🐦 They do their best with creating snow to ensure maximum run availability. The ski slope's direction ensures sunshine for much of the day when the sun cooperates.🌞 Friendly staff and adequate facilities provide all you could ask for at a mid-size local resort loved by visitors from the area and beyond. Ticket prices 🎟 are competitive and sometimes better value than competition's (yes I'm looking at you Catamount😉). Convenient location only minutes from Great Barrington and Stockbridge, and not too far off I-90. Good parking, basic snacks, and chairlifts that work (no, Frozen was NOT filmed here). Come ski and support a resort that works hard to provide quality skiing during finicky NE winter seasons! If you like this review, please give it 👍!

I really liked it there today. It feels very family-friendly and beginner-friendly and it was priced perfectly. Great conditions and really friendly crowd of people. They do a really amazing job. I learned to ski there as a kid and hadn’t been back since before covid. I was so impressed and I can’t wait to go back with more friends who want to learn to ski or board. Can’t say it enough.

Great small family friendly mountain in the Berkshires. Easy to reach from NY metro. All of the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Nice way to get a ski fix. Highly recommend.

Awesome slopes!!! ⛷Super chilled great vibes here!! Came with a group of guys we all loved it!!!👍🎿 nice size mountain 🏔 awesome for all levels!! Friendly environment!! Highly recommended if you want to have a chilled time!! Only downside it closes by sundown since there’s no lights on the mountain 💡 but if you come in early super worth it!! 😃

We had a great time tubing. There are plenty of tubes to choose from. The staff are great, and safety is their main concern. There is a convenient "moving sidewalk" to help you get up to the top, or you can choose to walk up if the line is too long. We had a great time and will definitely do it again.

Beginner here, did the first timer lesson which Included rental equipment and beginner area lift . Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Seemed to have a good variety of trails even if we just stayed on the bunny hills. Lunch was good and had good beer list. Would definitely come back.

We took my middle son on his birthday and we had such an amazing time. We are going back next month! My youngest is 4 and he was scared at first but ended up loving it. It's great for the whole family. Make sure to buy tickets ahead of time, no on site purchases!

Great place for everyone, from beginners to pros. I've skied at Butternut since Mt. Tom closed in 1998.

Great snow, 2 lodges so you never feel like it's too crowded to get a snack, tons of parking, tubing on a separate section, terrain park, magic carpets on the beginners slopes (no more J bars!!!) And awesome staff from lift operations, to ski patrol, everyone you're going to meet is going to be great!

This is a great place to ski, snow board and have a great winter day. They have snow making capabilities and do an excellent job grooming their trails.

Wow what an amazing day we had! we are first timers learning how to ski. Adam and Mary were awesome. They are very friendly, helpful, caring, patient and gave us all their attention. It was 4 of us. myself, my wife and our girls took the lessons. We had great weather. I highly recommend coming here for ski lessons. Again I want to thank Mary and Adam very very much you made our day! We will be back for more lessons! Eddy

Lots of fun for kids and grown-ups! Nice staff,clean bathrooms, big parking for free, I booked tickets online,we came 20 min before,we checked in and we were ready to go! There is a tube lift but you can warm up and walk up the hill too.

The snow was beautiful even in today's sunny weather. There are plenty of lifts with little to no wait! The mountain offers a variety of levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).

Highly recommend if you are looking to ski in the area!

°° Night Tubing is a MUST!

They did a good job with snowmaking and grooming especially considering how lousy a season we have had with temperature fluctuations, mixed precipitation and lack of snow fall. I went skiing at Butternut with my family when skied for the first time as a kid and I enjoyed skiing there again as an adult.

Amazing, im a first time skiier and took a lesson with Morgan. She was amazing and after the 2 hours i knew how to skii! She was very patient and followed to make corrections on form. I highly enjoyed the experience and the skii site. Fun for the whole family.

We were a family of 4 and had a great time at Butternut. The trails were groomed, and clean, the instructors of snowboarding were excellent. The food was decent and reasonably priced. Everyone was very helpful at the resort and the lodge was full but clean and cozy.

It is a very nice place for ski and snowboarding. They have plenty of slopes with all degrees of difficulty. This staff is extremely helpful. My son had his first snowboarding lesson here. The instructors were very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Highly recommended both for beginners and experts.

Butternut is a great ski hill! We had a great day! Shout out to Nate in the repair shop for fixing my stomp pad!!!
