Made famous by the painting The Runaway by Norman Rockwell, whose museum is located in nearby Stockbridge, Joe’s Diner still has the famous lunch counter setup, along with a wall displaying prints of the painting. The Diner is no-frills and affordable, serving the same fare as Rockwell would have eaten in the 1950s. No where else will you get such delicious fish and chips at a bargain price. Locals and tourists alike are super friendly.

Stopped in for lunch. The grilled ham and cheese was great! As well as the fried pickles! Lightly breaded. Delicious. Coffee was tasted great.

One of the BEST places I’ve stumbled across recently! Great and fast service. A menu with so many options and a clean welcoming atmosphere.

Great piece of Americana! Basic American breakfast and lunch choices in a small diner setting. Great staff. Food was hot and tasty. Don't expect anything fancy. Seating at an old fashioned malt shop counter and a few tables.

We enjoyed omeletttes and homefries for breakfast. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasty. Our waitress was kind and pleasant. Before we left, we actually commented to her that we enjoyed her genuine "niceness," and she thanked us. You know how some people are a bit too nice or phony nice. She was just being herself, and that shone through. We CT visitors appreciated it.

My Wife and I have eaten here numerous times, & there’s never been an off day. Regardless of what we ordered its always been on point. Everything from Burgers, Breakfast & even Seafood! They only will accept cash and have an atm near the restroom area in back of diner ($2.50 fee) just a FYI/heads up. Great staff all very friendly and accommodating to all ages, races, and backgrounds.

Super friendly very fast service. Cute little diner in a tiny town. I got the full hash, unfortunately was not homemade. Also ordered french toast, and a chicken quesadilla. Overall an enjoyable breakfast on our way out of town.

Very nostalgic and homey. Didn't catch our waitresses name, she was very pleasant and had a sense of humor. Took photos for us and we also adlib Norman Rockwell's "Runaway". A must visit. The food is very good, well priced and reminded me of my younger days.

Their food was fairly average diner fair, but the atmosphere and the service was great. Small local spot that is very welcoming and always busy. I would do again!

Would eat every meal here. The food is always fabulous, the people are so sweet, and prices are fantastic. I've eaten here several times now. I have yet to have a bad experience. I ordered 3 eggs over medium today and thry were cooked perfectly! The bacon was crispy and my toast came out nice and buttery. I also love the tator tots here. I need to branch out and try other foods, but I love their breakfast! In our party, the Texas Cheddar burger was ordered and it literally had almost a full side of onion rings on top of the burger. Another person in our party ordered the Mac n cheese long dog (I posted the photo). She loved it....it came with deep fried macaroni on the dog with melted cheese on top and the bun was toasted. Not many places do this.

It's a very relaxing 70s American-style diner, from food to hospitality, it's got everything minus the segregation and questionable relationship dynamics, so anyone can have a comfortable dining experience here. Definitely going again!

Everything you want from a classic diner: great food, great prices, and most of all, friendly service. The icing on the cake? You can sit where the state trooper sat in Norman Rockwell’s painting. This is where it happened.
