I have been a patient of Dr. Ballard’s for 8 years now, sent there also for workman’s Comp injury and am shaking my head at some of the reviews I’m reading on here. “If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t ya it at all”. If you felt you had a bad experience leave it at that and find yourself another dr that will please you. I’ve seen all kinds of patients come in to her office that were in severe pain, and some that I literally watched them walk out and hop in their car just fine as if it was all an act. Maybe, just maybe dr Ballard sees right through “BS” and earned her degrees for a reason, and will not just give people what they want. She is a great dr, has always given thorough examinations, great at noticing when things have changed or got worse and treats accordingly. I love dr Ballard and would recommend anyone to see her if I believed she could help them but not if they are full of sh**). I met her and went from barely being able to stand on my own and extensive physical therapy, and still intermittent therapy, along with other therapudic devices and can now walk today without having had the surgery that could’ve made my situation worse. Please people, think before you speak. I’m grateful for this woman/dr and these reviews are just awful to read.

Straight forward, with a sly sense of humor. Some don't like her because she can smell BS a mile away.

I have been a patient of doc Ballard's since 2008 sent there by work comp, I had all these test MRI, Nerve Conduction & more and some of these test work comp did not want to pay for but Doc stood up for me and said they can't have both ways and got me the test . So SHE was for ME not the worker comp people. Doc Ballard Has Always been nice . professional & when I have a concern she has taken time discuss it with me from meds to equipment use. I was glad I got sent to her after coming from prominent surgeon who caused my issues

Dr. Ballard was nice, talkative with a very flat affect. EMG testing went as well as expected. Was painful during and after but not untoleratable. Stated to me immediately no nerve damage noted on test. Only can hope she is reading test accurate and not to benefit Workers Compensation. I will say my pain and symptoms are not in my head. Prayers needed for healing.

I don't understand all the low reviews. She is a nice woman, but also all about business. Do research regarding the EMG test and you'll see there will be some soreness etc with the test. That's not her fault. Grab a straw and suck it up for a few minutes. You'll be fine seeing her. She is quick and efficient.

The first thing I want to mention is that I am here for workers comp and already have an attorney. I would not willingly send myself to a 1 star doctor. I am here for an EMG test. My appointment was at noon. It is 42 minutes past my appointment time, and I have not received any care. In the middle of the EMG Ballard had left the room.

So, the first time I came in here, I was not notified that my appointment time had changed. The blonde woman up front was very unkind and unhelpful. The second time I came in (today 06/22/2022), I was told to come in 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I came 25 minutes early due to traffic. The woman up front told me that I was told to come earlier than that in a snarky tone. There was 3 papers that I had to fill out, and it took 10 minutes to fill out and sign.

The same blonde woman walked me back and made a comment on my weight and height. She said, “I would rather not date someone who’s taller than me.” Overall, I’ve just felt very uncomfortable around her. She is very unprofessional and rude.

Then, we have the infamous 1 star doctor, Ellen Ballard. If you are a young woman, be prepared to feel thick tension and the presence of “I’m better than you and older than you” in the room. Be prepared to feel very unwelcomed and uncomfortable. I had to repeat that the pain was in my NECK and shoulder over 3 times. There was another patient being seen here, and she was much more friendly towards him. Which makes me feel as if it is sexism. I am leaving in more pain than I had whenever I first came in. She does not have gentle hands, so be prepared for that whenever you come in.

I do not recommend coming here if you have a choice. I will be going to another doctor to conduct the same test.

She has no bed side manner. She carried out the EMG without telling me what she was doing. I was stuck with a needle so many times, very quickly, and not even precise placement which lead to more needle sticks to get the readings she needed. It was so aggressive that I had bruised larger than quarters for more than a week. I would not recommend the care of this Doctor to anyone.

I had to go to her over a fall at work. All I have to say is if testing the strength of my hands has anything to do with a fall on my SI joint. Wow she nailed it. Very rude unprofessional “doctor”. She was more concerned about my drivers knee than she was about me. I didn’t know why I had to take my clothes off to have my reflexes checked. The ama in the commonwealth of Kentucky should be Very proud of this “doctor”. If you have to see her ........ RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. Your better off going to a vet than her. I only gave a star because I had to.

Flat out lied on the IME.

The point of an independent medical examination is to determine whether a patient requires additional treatment. How do you make this determination without even physically seeing the patient??? What's funny is that the original doctor who provided treatment for my injuries listed 175 lbs as the weight that destroyed my wrists, but this doctor lists 70?? There are recorded phone conversations where I explicitly state 175 lbs. How do you go to medical school and pledge to do no harm but also have the inability to even lie properly? Did the insurance companies pay for your education as well? Disgusting excuse of a physician.

I was hired to transport Dr Ballard from Cincinnati airport to her home on August 20th about a week in advance. I went into heart failure Friday the 18th and was sedated until late Saturday 19th. I went out of my way while I was in ccu to have my girlfriend..who is not associated with my business to contact Julie...her employee that set up transport..and let her know the situation. I had her let them know that Uber operated out of CVG and would do it for about the dame rate I offered.
But this office had no compassion on my circumstances and found it necessary to place a bad review on my Google listing.
This makes me think that they have little to no compassion for their patients either!

Where to start?
I’ll make it short.
She is an insurance doctor!
If you are going to her , it must be a referral from an insurance company or worker’s compensation insurance!
She is going to tell them and you that your pain was preexisting and that you’re are able to do what you was doing before, despite anything you do or say!
The best thing you can do if you are referred to her....... CALL AN ATTORNEY! Because you’re going to need one to get anywhere and/or anything accomplished!

Dr.Ellen Ballard allows her own personal prejudices/personal views interfere with accurate evaluations. Upon my visit in my younger years for a back injury, I was asked a series of questions that were only designed to discredit the possibility that I indeed had pain in my back so that my employer could get out of a workman's comp case and well, they hired the best person for the job....A judgmental unprofessional woman with no compassion what so ever.

Seriously NOT a people person and she doesn't think before she speaks. Had an EMG done NOT neurologist order, but insurance request and she stated there is NO nerve damage that I found. Yet, in the same breath says you have diabetic neuropathy.( Damage caused by diabetes) SERIOUSLY? I think I would know if I had burning, pain or numbness AND that in itself is damage.

I felt rushed and abused and come to find out they missed some serious problems with me I am now paying dearly for. All because she wouldn't confront me about the apparent contradiction in my story or ask more questions. Obviously paid off to keep companies insurance rates down and minimize or hide real injuries. Don't ever go here.

Very rude and unprofessional! I had to be seen my her yesterday in Lexington, and she was awful from beginning to end. I felt like I was being interrogated more so than checked. I won’t go into anymore detail, but just BEWARE!

She looks at my MRI and say I do not see anything that needs surgery. Send me back to work full duty still in pain. Run the other way.
