Garvin Brown Nature Preserve, Prospect, KY

I love this park! Very quiet usually and beautiful at all times of the day, there are hundreds of flowers and lots of wildlife. Dogs MUST be on leash… *unless they are super super friendly and nobody else is around.* 🥰 Very large fields for soccer or football, a basketball hoop, and river-water access all along the trail. My puppy has loved it so far. Watch out for ticks & pick up your litter! 🗑 there are trash cans at the end/middle of the trail near a bench that sits beside the river.

A beautiful nature preserve. It is like a park. Very beautiful loop with Ohio River views. Went yesterday and love it so much !

I come here for birding, and my last visit was an excellent experience, with at least three Willow Flycatchers, no less than two Mourning Warblers, and a solid three Lincoln’s Sparrows!

There is a sign in the parking lot that says dogs need to be leashed. Before you enter the preserve, you walk through a public park area alongside a body of water. This area is covered in goose poop, so watch your dog if they eat poop. My dogs liked the water before entering the preserve. Inside the preserve there are trails going different directions with tall grasses & trees. 1 person said there was dog poop everywhere, but I only saw 1 pile of dog poop on the ground. I saw 2 trash cans & they had a lot of poop bags in them. The people we met were very nice and we let our dogs play together. This was a fun day trip for us. It is important to note that there is a rifle range within earshot of this park so if you have a dog that is afraid of loud noises, you may want to avoid this place.

Took the dogs for an early Fall morning walk. Nice wide path through the woods and around a very large prairie/open field area. Path takes you through the trees, the fields, past the Ohio River ... dogs loved the variety. Path is good for bikes, strollers too. A nice bench to sit on by the river.

Love it! It is such a oasis forme and my dogs. Saw beautiful flights of geese and ducks and a BIG BUCK DEER with huge antlers! I am so grateful we have such a beautiful green place to dwelt in. Thank you!

Nice big open place to walk and get exercise. Beautiful scenery, picnic tables, playground, clean restrooms, good place to eat outdoors if you're in the area.

Perfect place for a Riverside stroll with your dog. Walk through Hays Kennedy Park to the East to get to the entrance.
