I had a problem getting approved for at home visitation. The two ladies I spoke with were very friendly and helpful. I honestly was surprised after I read the reviews. They had better customer service skills than most haha.

Boone County Jail employees were very helpful to me when I was having trouble figuring out how to use the Kiosk machines in their lobby. Thank You for the help.

The price gouging with commissary has been a ongoing issue. I feel like taking half of everyone's income on commissary makes people think twice before they commit crimes, but at the same time we must not overstep our bounds with taking profits from broken families quote unquote.

I’ve had negative experiences with this past in the past; however, the customer service seems to be better now then it used to be anyways. My suggestion is if anyone has any issues to contact the captain Kim Grigsby; my mother has been in contact with her a few times in the past and she always handled her issues quickly and professionally. I just had an issue with my loved one not getting his medication transferred with him and she had her officer person drive his medicine to the facility he was shipped to. She resolved this problem in less then 24 hours and on a weekend at that. I give her five stars and truly appreciate her effort and professionalism.

Very unprofessional staff as expected. I had a general question and I was obviously bothering the lady on the other end. I wish I had her name. I would definitely list it but I will CALL HER KAREN for now.

By far WORST JAIL facility EVER!!! My husband died in their Apr 30,2020 because they failed to render medical attention to him when he desperately needed it. Staff used their foot & nudged him when they found him unresponsive instead of bending down to check for a pulse. Staff LIED saying he made a call out but NONE of the other staff heard the call go out over the radio. STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY explanation of what happened to him. Going to hold a peaceful protest at KCDC Sunday between 12-5:30. All is welcome to attend. I want to make sure that NO OTHER INMATE DIES in their jail because of there NEGLIGENCE!! And NO ONE has had been REPRIMANDED in any way. I want justice for my husband Charlie and see those responsible be held accountable and to make sure no one else's family has to suffer like ours

The worse jail, I’ve ever had to deal with, they’re extremely rude. I called about finding out why my loved one commissary was blocked and they never called me back. I called several times, only to be told by my loved one that the person I was calling told him to tell me to stop calling. They will suspend your visitation for the most absurd reasons, they treat the inmates even worse by giving them food with no nutrition in it.

The Co's treat inmates like animals, very inhumane & anytime a situation is asked to be looked into it only turns out worse for bringing it to their attention because it's considered a "complaint", medical doesn't do or treat anything. Cos will turn body cams off when doing hurtful things to inmates. All around this place has a very bad system & even worse employees.

I know of several people attacked there, didn't even fight back, yet was thrown in isolation anyway. In isolation you can't get any of the guards to help you. They just turn the buzzer off and walk out. They leave you without the medication you need to survive. There are a few good COs, but most treat the inmates like animals. Family can't get any answers when calling, they get hung up on or ignored. Someone needs to do something.

Staff is hateful mean and treats inmates like they are animals they extort inmates by keeping the temperature at 50° and forcing everyone to buy whites off of commissary which is way overpriced medical staff is virtually non-existent this jail should be shut down or at least evaluated because they treat people very inhumanely

I don't know who the secretary is that answered the phone at this facility, but I am shocked at the unprofessionalism. Whoever she is will answer the phone one time then continuously hang up on you after that. I called from another number and she did the same thing. "It's a jail what do you expect" how about people to do their jobs? I didn't call to get sass from an entry level employee, I called to get answeres to my questions. I couldn't believe someone would be so rude to a stranger who was politely trying to ask a question. I couldn't imagine having a loved one here. If they treat regular people like this, how do they treat the inmates? 😡😡😡
