J Harrod's Restaurant

J. Harrod's is a local gem in the Prospect area. Everything is fresh, service is excellent, and there are daily and weekly specials. Even if you have a big stomach, some of the large entrees will be difficult to finish! Live music is available occasionally, and outdoor seating is available when the weather is nice.

We will definitely return again and will update my review if anything changes!

Simple, timeless arguably old school elegance but still very approachable. Best chicken livers ever! I also love the cabbage gratin, basa, fried chicken and pinto beans! Grab a blueberry pie for the win!

My friend and I visited here recently and it was amazing! I had the pork chops that were so tasty and my friend had the salmon which she enjoyed! The staff was very friendly and our server, Jamie, was superb! We will definitely be back!

We ordered take out turkey dinners today since we couldn’t travel to be with family and just wanted a relaxing day at home with someone else making the food. I’m so glad we saw that J Harrod’s was offering this! We have never eaten at the restaurant, honestly didn’t know about it, but decided to give it a try. It was delicious!!! It was packaged nicely, and they offered curbside contactless pick up. The portion sizes were decent and you got salad, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, 2 sides and dessert with each meal. Everything except the cranberry sauce was homemade or at least tasted that way! It was as good as a home cooked family meal. We will definitely go to or order from here again soon!

My wife and I arrived 15 minutes or so earlier than our reservation and were enthusiastically greeted and seated without delay. To our pleasant surprise they had a pianist playing soothing tunes which created a relaxing environment after a hectic week. I had the Chicken delGreco and my wife had one of my personal favorites, Chicken Piccata. The delGreco was really good but my wife's Piccata is still my favorite. They have outside dining but we sat in the main dining room across from the pianist. He took our requests and played each tune with perfection. Our experience was great relief to a week in search of a relaxing evening. We highly recommend J. Harrod's for the food and the experience.

Our neighborhood group has been having dinner at J Harrods once a month for several months. We vary in size from 12-20. We usually have around 15. We have one of the small dining rooms and love the privacy for our group. The staff has been great working with us and everyone votes to keep coming back for our dinners. Our server is always courteous, efficient and friendly. Food is always excellent as well as drinks.

Our family appreciates having the opportunity to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at J Harrod's again this year. The convenience of the designated seating works well & time is ample so we can relax while enjoying our meal & each other. We were seated at 3:30pm. The setting is comfortable & accessible. Even when the restaurant is full u can still hear each other & easily get to the buffet. (!) Each year the food & desserts are even more delicious. The Thanksgiving traditional meal is complemented by other fine dishes. Although Thanksgiving dinner is buffet, the service for each table is gracious & professional. Many thanks to J Harrod's folks for another exceptional dining experience!

Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. My ribeye was done just the way like it. They have a good selection on the menu. My wife gets their fried chicken, and always likes it. Prices are in the medium range. Not out of line for what you get. It is on our list of restaurants that we will return to.

My wife and I heard about new management and love exploring new restaurants in Louisville. It was a VERY enjoyable dining experience from the food, drink selections, and ambiance. Service was 5 star. Plannijg our next visit, and by the way, I recommend making reservations.

My husband and I have been DESPERATE to find a good restaurant for a nice relaxing evening without the kids. We are from the Highlands where there are tons of unique and local restaurants at every corner. When we moved to Prospect that is the one thing we truly missed, a good restaurant in close proximity to our home. J.Harrods is not advertised much that I know of, but I need to highly recommend this restaurant! It was a cozy quaint atmosphere with a menu with lots of selections from salads to fish to pasta to chicken livers! 😊 And they are excellent! Thank you J. Harrods for a wonderful meal and a place to go in Prospect!

We recently threw my parents a birthday party for a group of 35 adults. J Harrods arranged catering for the event. They created a great, well priced menu. Communication with Jenny was quick and easy. The day of the party they delivered the food in Cambros container which kept the food piping hot for 2 hours until we were ready to serve. Would use them again for any event!

This place is under new management. The old fashioned comfy environment is the same, but the food is much improved! Live music is delightful but not overwhelming. Service is fantastic. We love you, Clarissa!

I’ve heard great things about J Harrods for years and finally decided to try it out. I was not disappointed. The place is nice without being pretentious, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced.

This restaurant is an absolute delight The service is fast and friendly and they are always pleasant to interact with the food absolutely to die for guy personally recommend the fried chicken the cabbage casserole and the Caesar salad all made with extreme care and they are absolutely delicious the chicken melts in your mouth in the casserole reminds you of something that your grandmother used to make I love going here especially with my family and the atmosphere makes me want to keep coming back.

The Chicken Del Greco was out of this world!! Mushrooms and tomatoes in a red wine sauce with crumbled blue cheese on a medallion of fried eggplant. Yum. Fried chicken and the Hot Brown are also awesome. Favorite side is the cabbage casserole. Service was a bit slow but worth the wait.

Got the caesar salad and chicken parmesan. Both were really good. The ONLY complaint was the bread would have been better if it had been warm. Definitely worth trying out. Everyone was friendly

My husband and I ate here recently. Delicious food with excellent service! Very attentive owners! We are picky and we will return!!
