I made a mistake and gave a one star review on D&H. I apologize for this mistake I was moving to fast….

This place is great and I send all my vehicles to them. I trust them with my life, wife’s and kids life. They get the job done!! Scott and Daniel are 10stars two thumbs up guys! They go over and beyond to make you happy and complete the job!

After years of getting jerked around and swindled at other repair shops, I came across these guys by word of mouth. These guys are the real deal. I couldn`t be any happier with the service, quality of work and communication from the shop. Scott diagnosed what the other shops could not and gave me a detailed rundown on what needed to be done. It is hard to find a mechanic you can trust nowadays, and D&S has earned my complete trust and confidence in their work.

Always gives me information straightforward an makes it plain to understand. An gives high quality work. As a lady I don't feel like they are getting over on me. They took care of my problem. I'm satisfied an back in my car. Thanks D&S Automotive Repair

Dan & Scott are both car guys that don't just work on cars, they enjoy cars. They worked on my car and got it running better than it has in years. Super thorough and knowledgeable, they explained every problem and how they diagnosed the problem. I will recommend them to anyone who wants a honest diagnosis, and look forward to working with them in the future . They are worth the wait and wouldn't trust my car with anyone else. Thanks Guys!

I've found D&S to be super helpful and very knowledgable. They were willing to go the extra mile to research how to do the best and longest lasting repair. I had major work done on my truck. It's clear they care about the quality of their work more than a making a quick buck. While they had my engine apart they went ahead and fixed some other minor issues which was great. Cost came in lower than expected. Will use them again.

I’m SO glad I found D&S when I did! I was in a pinch when my Chevy’s water pump started leaking and they really saved my butt. Not only are their prices better than any other shop I’ve found in the Louisville/S Indiana area, but they are respectful, have great customer service, and provide even better automotive service. Did I mention that they don’t try to screw anyone over?! They’re hands down the most honest and knowledgeable shop I’ve ever worked with. Take your vehicles to D&S! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!

Shout out to Daniel! These guys are awesome and helped me out of a jam when I had a flat tire. They are owner/operators and everyone wants to shop local so here you go. Super friendly and knowledgeable, take your car to a local place!

I had a lot of work done on my truck at another mechanic and after I got the truck back, it just didn't drive right. It had a hard time picking up, shifting gears, and there was no power. I took it back to the original mechanic who said everything seemed fine but I felt the truck acting differently. I took it to Mr. Transmission for a second opinion as I thought it was a transmission issue and ultimately they referred me to D&S as it was not. D&S looked over the truck and noted it was an easy fix and fixed it within the day! I don't typically trust mechanics but these guys were professional and definitely trustworthy. Thank you guys for fixing my truck.

This place is great. I started taking my cars here a few years back based on word of mouth, and I have yet to be disappointed. I have had the guys at D & S work on 3 cars over a few years now, and I always bring my cars back for anything else. They are always so kind to give me advice and input on what the problems are, what the best solution is, the cheapest solution is, and the give warnings on how to avoid problems in the future, or how to prevent similar problems in the future.

They have always checked over my car for free, and told me the problems and costs of fixing these problems, then I can walk away without paying anything if I don't think it's worth the cost. They will also tell you cheaper less ideal options if you want to save money but still get the job done for the time being. They know not every customer is looking to keep their car for life, and just needs something to take them from point A to point B. They go over all options with the customer to find what's right for them. When I decide I do want them to do the work, or get parts for me, they are usually very fast getting work done same day or next day at this point (unless it's a major overhaul or requires a super rare part).

They can be very busy since they are so good and great to work with, so I suggest calling ahead if you can plan on dropping a car off at a certain time. This will speed up your process even more.

They've never been anything other than overly helpful and looking out for what's best for the customer. They never pressure you into anything, and always give you options, or you can even walk away without feeling pressured or guilty. I've never been lied to or tricked into paying for unnecessary repairs (like I have at other service shops). These guys are amazing, and me, my wife, my parents, and my sister all go to D & S now due to their great customer first attitude, knowledge, quick work, and honesty. I recommend them to anyone looking for an honest mechanic in Louisville. I no longer live in Hikes Point, but still go out of my way to take my cars there.

D&S was recommended to me years ago as an honest and dependable repair shop (which at the time, was right down the street from me). Quickly, they became the only place I take my vehicles.

Over the years, I have felt comfortable recommending them to friends and family and have received only positive feedback from those who have come to depend on them as well. Daniel and Scott have always stood behind the work they do, and on the rare occasion that something didn't go right the first time, they made it right.

Had a very close to catastrophic engine event causing failure of the complete lubrication system. Quickly and accurately diagnosed and repaired, although considerable delay by dealer in flashing the computer to take engine out of "failsafe" mode. ( Yes, one of those vehicles where the software is not shared outside dealer network.) Scott stayed on top of the dealer to complete the job, and called them out when initially told engine replacement was necessary. Can't recommend highly enough!

Scott and the guys at D & S helped me out big repairing my '84 Audi 4000. They sourced parts from Europe and fixed a previous shop's poor repair job to get my classic back on the road. I wouldn't hesitate to have them work on anything. Awesome people!

I can’t say enough about the guys at D & S! I took my car to them with a major electrical issues of unknown origin. They could’ve easily told me every electronic part needed to be replaced because my airbags were not working, my ABS was not working, my remote entry wasn’t working and the list went on. Instead,for less than $400 they were able to come clean the parts where the corrosion had happened from water damage from a leaking windshield and get me back on the road! This is the only place to ever take your car!

My brother was a mechanic and serviced my car for years. When he switched professions I struggled finding a mechanic that I trusted.

These guys do a good job and are real and honest people. These are the types of people I trust with my car. You'll get an honest opinion and an honest price. Can't ask for more.

The best experience I've had at a garage in Louisville. This place must stay busy, but they had all the work I needed finished within one day. They replaced my IAC valve because I had problems with my idle, after I had replaced everything I could think of... Anyways, the cost of my repair came in well below the amount I thought I would spend. They only fixed what I needed fixed and they didn't give me a runaround about all the other work I needed done when I dropped it off or when I picked it up. Anyways, I am definitely sticking with these guys for my auto repair needs from this point forward. If you are having reservations about where to take your car, no need to look any further.

I have taken my car here for almost 10 years now. They are very honest and knowledgeable. Reasonably priced and dependable. Taking my car here on Thursday for a tune up. I would definitely recommend this company hands down!
