Cherokee park is a beautiful place. So much green, great walking paths, several benches, picnic tables. plenty of flora and fauna to enjoy. Excellent place to have a picnic, take a walk, or just get some sunshine and fresh air.

Stock it up all summer with all kinds or fish. I go here a lot. Still trying to figure out what the catfish bite on out there because I haven't caught a good load in awhile. *pause* lol Great spot though. Lots of spaces to get in on the lake. **Photo attached, Fisherman's nightmare **

Such a peaceful place to go have a picnic, walk the paved road, bike the paved road or take the bike or your own two feet and your dogs 4 feet for a walk on the trails. With over 400 acres nestled in the city of Louisville. Places with play areas for kids, water fountains , creeks you can probably play in, if you like a little splash in the water. Get out see some deer and other wildlife while letting all your stress go with some peaceful nature and relax a little.

Cherokee Park is a gem: this review focuses on the lake. As you can see from my pictures -- crappie, bass, catfish, warmouth, and trout (seasonal) can be caught here. That said, it is not the easiest place to catch fish. Pressure is high: it's in the middle of Louisville and is the closest lake for many, many anglers. Even so, don't hesitate to come drop a line in or watch the golfers or simply walk the paved trail. Nice place to walk before or after visiting the restaurant (Le Moo) or Coffee Shop across the street.

Lovely park with great scenery. They is a specific scenic trail for both driver and walkers that's about 2.5 miles. I chose the walk and it was very peaceful and I encountered birds and a few deer along the walk.

Wonderful park. I'm sure many already know, but it was designed Frederick Law Olmstead, same landscape architect who designed NYC's Central Park.

Anyhow, it's nicely kept quite wild. In the warmer seasons, it's a great place to encounter diverse insects, along the patches of native plants that you find everywhere.

Public restrooms are good, too. Drive slow, if you're going through. Keep in mind it's more people-centered, or at least it ought to be.

Gorgeous park with tons of natural area! If I lived here, I'd be here all the time. Friendly folks in the park and lots of paths to walk. I love parks that keep the natural environment of the land and they've done a remarkable job here.

Drove through Louisville on our way to Nashville with the pup. Needed a place to stretch our legs. Found this park on the map & gave it a shot, was SO impressed!! A local told us the park's architect was the same person who designed Central Park in NYC. It felt safe, was populated, & had tons of fun trails covered in shade to help with the hot summer sun. 100% would recommend!!!

Visiting Louisville area this weekend. Spent three mornings riding the mountain bike trails. They were great! Can they be hard to find- maybe. But after 1.5 laps they were easy to figure out. Plenty of single track / small punchy climbs / roots / and small rock garden section.
There were a few hikers and runners on the trails but we respected each other's space. I got there before 7 and had the trails to myself.

There's trails of all kinds, for all walks of life! The Beargrass Creek trails & Big Rock are some of my most favorite in the Seneca/Cherokee Park system, but there really aren't any bad ones.

I've always loved coming to Cherokee Park ever since moving to Louisville. I went here last week with my fiance and there were a ton of cicadas! (I don't like them, but it was a fascinating sight, none the less). It was beautiful as always, and there's a lot of trees for shade during the summer.

My favorite park ever. Or at least in Kentucky! My dogs and I have so much fun doing all of the hidden trails throughout Cherokee in the wooded areas. You can mountain bike on the trails, too! Dogs swimming in creeks and plenty of fresh air.

Great place to go for a relaxing walk, run, or bike ride. Weather you walk along the motor route or take the nature trails fresh air is hard to beat. Great place to unwind and forget about your drab and stress filled day. Dog friendly too.
