They have the best salad dressing! I'm not usually a salad person but this place's salad dressing tastes amazing. And lovely sushi :) fire scallop and Westport are the most popular rolls(also my favorite). Las Vegas roll is a must if you're looking for fried sushi.

The emptiness of the place is misleading as the food was amazing. Vegetable tempura was very good. The ramen is house made, oishi. Fried rice with veggies was the best. Very friendly and fast service.

This restaurant among the best Louisville has to offer! I highly recommend it!

Definitely a great place for good Japanese cuisine. Waitress was awesome and food was great. My wife is just starting to try sushi and she loved all that we tried! Atmosphere is perfect for romantic yet casual and comfortable setting. Would highly recommend for a nice night out. Will return next time we have the chance.

My salmon with vegetables were as wonderfully delicious as they were beautifully presented on the plate. Although I'm typically not a fan of white rice, they seem to know just how to make it taste its best. The salad was simply chopped iceberg lettuce with shredded carrots but the salad dressing was out-of-this-world delicious! It tasted like a salad dressing my father used to make based on a salad dressing he enjoyed at a restaurant named Hunt's. The ambiance was warm and inviting and cozy and appropriate for a wonderful evening's meal. Our server was gracious and patient with all the questions my date and I had about the menu. My date, a sushi fan, enjoyed Sushi of tuna, tobiko and wasabi. The meal was delicious, the ambiance inviting and my date and I enjoyed a wonderful evening! I was glad I visited.

I needed some Asian food. So I came here with pretty high expectations. This place surpassed those expectations.
Food is some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had. Service was also excellent. Best service I’ve had here in Louisville.
Spent way too much money here but it’s worth every penny.

Have been going here since we moved to Louisville. First time was after a heavy day of moving in so it was great to have some comfort food. It is close to authentic as you can get in this part of the country. I lived 6 years in Japan so I know good Japanese food. Have had various items from the menu and all are great. Sushi is the best I have found in the area. Nothing compares to Toyama Japan but what really does except being there. Ramen is great. I do not know what the other reviewers are thinking but it is always good when I go. If you are not a ramen connoisseur and don’t know the many different types and styles maybe it is not for you. But the house ramen has a distinct rich flavor that has hints a a French onion soup. Maybe the second or third best ramen I have had in the US. Wish they would add a miso and shiio ramen to the menu. Appetizers are also great.

Everything I've ever had here is always delicious. Very friendly sushi chefs, too. If you aren't sure what to get, the Signature Bento Box has a good variety and can satisfy any cravings.

Before Concert Dining

Had tickets for a concert at the Palace so I researched restaurants in the area and since I was looking the day of or maybe a few hours ahead of time most were unavailable before the concert so I made reservations for 6:15 to allow for a leisurely dinner and an easy walk to the Palace. Service was very attentive and we really enjoyed our meal. Being the vegetarian of the party I usually research restaurant menu's to be sure I will be able to eat and I had no problem with their menu. The Tempura Vegetable, Fried Rice with Vegetables, Miso Soup, Hiko-A-Mon Salad and Yaki Soba Japanese Style with Shrimp was very good. We will be returning so I would highly recommend this to locals as well as visitors.

We just moved to the Old Louisville area and was looking for a Japanese restaurant that serves sushi, miso soup and teriyaki chicken. We ate at many Japanese restaurants but was unfamiliar with one in this area. I googled and found this one and decided to give it a shot. My family of four enjoyed it very much. All of our meals were great. It’s worth the visit.

Be sure to get the sushi rolls. Menu and food is outstanding. Staff is friendly. Really one of the best sushi restaurants I've been too - and I travel 80% of the time.

Amazing sashimi and sushi! 100% recommend this restaurant. It’s a little intimidating because it seemed empty however it was a Monday. We are from DC and would say this is top 2 sushi restaurants we have been to.

Great atmosphere, really good authentic Japanese food. The grilled calamari is awesome. Sashimi is the freshest. Hiko San has done a great job

Really good food. Everything tasted fresh and the waitress was nice and patient to explain what the items on the menu were when I told her I did not eat uncooked fish.

We had dinner here for the first time, Loved it! Great Ramen, Yaki Soba, tuna, etc. Friendly and Good.
