Monster Games

We were in town for our anniversary and stopped by interested in trying our Magic the Gathering. The guy behind the counter was incredibly friendly and informed and helped us get what we needed. He even taught us about another game and told us about another shop where we could get custom starter decks. We wish we were locals!

One of the nicest hobby shops I've ever been to. Love the layout and the staff was very kind and accommodating for the card tournament.

Nice staff that answers the phones, and they know everything about all types of card games. The entire environment was very nice, and I enjoyed the bossa nova music over the speakers.
Overall 5/5 store, staff, and atmosphere.

Their staff is very friendly and they have a wide selection of Pokémon cards. I walked in there not knowing what I was doing and they told us everything we needed to know! If you are looking to trade for a specific card you just look it up in the computer and see if they have it. They also have tournaments there to play the game. I go there to trade my cards either at the desk or other people!

Amazing experience at my son's first Pokemon tournament here! Staff was super friendly and helpful and the other players also made him feel very welcome. Awesome community!

Great store, definitely a must for any TCG player in the greater Cincinnati area. They have a ton of sealed product, and a nice kiosk to purchase singles from. Staff are friendly, and so are the players (!). A+

Amazing selection of cards of all kinds. Everything from Pokemon to magic the gathering. Kellie, Mike, and Dave are super awesome.

This people are very compassionate, highly recommend! The staff is informative, polite, an very accommodating. I lost a close family member and wanted to get outta the house so I went to monster games. I told him what had happened an they were very sincere to my situation. Offered me to come an hang out at any time the store is open. Like I said I highly recommend! I will support this local businesses as long as they remain open. P.S I never leave reviews but I was so touched by my experience I had to review. Thank you monster games an hopefully more years to come.

I like it. Very friendly staff with all sorts of TCGs being supported, like Digimon, MtG, and Pokemon. Space could be a little cleaner, but that's more of the fault of some players leaving behind their pack wrappers.

Definitely worth a check out!

Monster is my go-to place for Magic and Pokémon. Simon Boschert and Luke Hengehold are the best employees I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Most card shops aren’t very good in the customer service area but Simon and Luke make me feel welcome every time I walk in the door, regardless if I’m spending $100s of dollars on new product/singles or just coming to play in local tournaments/prerelease events.

I can honestly say if it weren’t for Simon and Luke I wouldn’t have gotten so deep into the community and I certainly wouldn’t have been supporting my local shops with my money and would still be buying online.

It was hard to find at 1st, but once i did, i was really excited! It was so cool! They had card playing events going on when i went in and apparently have different ones each night of the week. Their prices are on the low end so they are affordable for the ppl who are playing the game. The staff was super helpful and really nice! I really liked all of them! I will definitely be going back... All the time!

Great place to get together with friends and play any type of card game. The staff are really helpful and nice. Great selection of single cards to buy and packs as well from almost any tcg game. I would highly recommend a stop if you are in the alexandria area.

Keep in mind this is on the side of the building. We weren't sure if they shut down or not because of that. Great service, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly are the first words that come to mind. As an old school DM and currently teaching my kids this place is a wonderful local option for cards and card accessories. Keep in mind, this is a card store, they don't have board games or video games. But if you want cards, oh boy do they have cards! Overall, I highly recommend them for all your MtG and deck building game needs.

Monster Games is *perfect* for new Magic: The Gathering players. My girlfriend and I just started playing last week. We did all of our research on local game stores and were excited to check out each store. The first store we went to was not Monster Games. We told the owner we were new to magic and he said he could cut us a deal on some new decks. He old us two planes walker decks and a 10 pack of boosters for $65 dollars and never once brought up a “deal” when we came to the register. He also did not mention that the booster pack bundle is probably not a good use of our money as brand new players. Bummer!

We went to Monster Games the next day as soon as it opened and Simon (shout out Simon!) was happy to help us right away. He sold us two plane walker decks and two card cases for $30. He also gave us a bunch of free dice, basic land cards, and a bunch of advice. He was friendly and helpful and encouraged us to come by the store for Friday Night Magic. Monster Games also had a way better selection of Magic cards!

I will definitely come back to Monster Games and I think any new Magic player will find themselves in good hands at this store.

I take my kids (12, 9, & 6) up here from Boone county and the staff are great to them. Very helpful and patient answering all our endless questions. Don't buy MTG boosters at big box stores, head out to Monster Games and get them for the best price per pack and support a local business.

Went here for their local pokemon events. wonderful staff and community with great prices. simon is also a wonderful event organizer. the place to go in the greater cincy area for improving your game in whatever your game is!

Their staff has changed and since the store has improved dramatically! This place has went from a 1start to a 5! That big of a change! Now I feel like they actually care about me as a consumer where before I felt like nothing when I walked in! I don’t know how they found the staff they have now but these people are amazing good job Monster Games for turning it around!

I went there with some friends of mine and attended my first mtg tournament. The people in my pod were friendly and gave me pointers on what to play. Definitely a place I'd wanna visit again.

Great selection of MTG bulk, sets, boosters, and accessories. A great place to play and participate in events (Covid prohibiting). Check their website and local laws regarding gathering during this time. If not Covid this place is your new home.
