General Butler State Resort Park

I stayed in a cabin at General Butler State Resort Park in August of 2023. The temperature outside was almost 100, but my cabin was cool and comfortable. I also hike the Butler Lake Trail during my stay and took some beautiful photos!

Husband and I are currently embarking on another adventure, and we've made a delightful stop at General Butler State Resort Park Campground, specifically at site 42. This spot, complete with water, electricity, and sewage connections, was perfect for us as we needed to refresh and recharge. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful upon our arrival, kindly directing us to our designated site and even offering their assistance if any issues arose. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the heartwarming encounter with a deer as we entered the park. It was a truly magical experience that will forever hold a special place in our memories.

It's a great place to just swing by for a bit of Mother nature. Always enjoy my visits. Either for a long stay or just a visit, it's a beautiful place.

Had an amazing 5 day stay here in the campground! The park is now a favorite. Camp Hosts Jimmy and Rita make you feel right at home! Plenty of level sites but its wise to check a visual before booking as some sites are more suitable for tent camping then backing an rv into. This campground is small, scenic, and very well maintained. We'll be coming back here soon.

We stayed at the campground at site 19. We were right behind the bath house. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was very quiet. Lots of wildlife was visible from our site. It was very nice. All spots have their own picnic table and nice fire pit. Will definitely be back.

I love this state park and stop by whenever I’m in the area. Beautiful views. Peaceful. Serene.

Location, hiking, and front desk service (Sam and Chloie) outstanding.
Pool and spa have no water and need repair. Restaurant in Lodge also closed for repair. Water main burst on Xmas Eve 2022. Many lodge rooms also under renovation for the same reason. Very disappointing that the website made no mention of this

Rita and her team really put out the welcome mat for us when we needed an unplanned stop due to mechanical issues. Not only did they find a place for us during a really busy holiday weekend, they manned the gate late to get us in and settled. Great food at the lodge too. Great campground and well maintained amenities. Small town folk remembering how to treat guests better than family!

Great experience! Lots of fun things for the family to enjoy of all ages! Excellent pool that isn't too far. Awesome miniature golf and extremely reasonable prices. Friendly campers make you feel safe. Perfect set up for camping with kids. Good amount of space for kids to run around after you can still see them for the most part. A good way to get away from all the hustle and bustle is our busy lives where we can stop breath and take everything in. Let the kids run and run and not have to worry about anything.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The two bedroom cottage we stayed in was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bed was more comfortable than mine at home! The mini-golf is a fun activity and features cute scrap artwork made by local artisans. We saw several deer during our two night state. People at front desk were very friendly.

It was awesome. It's still cold so not many campers. They used the honor to check in as no one was working. The bathrooms were sparkling clean and warm as toast. A wonderful surprise. Scenery was lovely for winter. Saw deer and squirrels and the birds were chirping merrily. We intend to stay here again. Very soon. Exceptional!

Wonderful small state resort park. We love the camp ground. It has water and electric on all sites, plus about a dozen sites have sewer hook up as well. The lodge has a fantastic restaurant and the rooms are decent for the price. The lake area has paddle boats, fishing, and a mini golf course near bye. There is also about a dozen cute little cottages for rent is you want a more private stay. It's a wonderful place to stay if your in the area for a race, traveling thru, or just wanting a quaint weekend with your family.

This place was so awesome woke up every morning to a beautiful view of God's country. There were a lot of people there over the weekend but you never knew it room was quiet clean everything was excellent people were so nice. Stayed for five days and wish I was still there LOL. The pool is wonderful hiked in the woods that was a great hike. If you like the park atmosphere this is the place for you.

I did not stay here I just visited the park but o.m.g beautiful I wish there was a better way to describe it I will however be staying here very soon can't wait

We rented The Woodland room at General Butler State Park for our granddaughter's sweet 16. Very very reasonably priced. Staff was Awesome. Food was good! Hot and on time. Very successful event. Highly recommended!

I love this place. Quiet. Peaceful. Customer service is exceptional. I love that a hiking trail is right outside my room. I bring my two dogs when I visit and we are able to hike the trails and walk the grounds unbothered. The restaurant is good and the prices are even better. It's such a great little getaway to recharge. EDIT: The grilled salmon, green beans and baked potato dinner is AMAZING!

Stayed one night with wife at the lodge and we brought our dog. The staff was super nice and friendly and gave us a room that was not close to any other occupied rooms. Our dog barks when we are away from the room so having an isolated room helped prevent disturbing the neighbors. The lodge room was clean, modern, well maintained and the balcony was nice. The two rivers restaurant was very good overall with tasty food and good service with reasonable price.

This is my 4th trip staying at General Butler state park either the lodge or cabins. The rooms in the lodge are cozy and clean with balconies overlooking the forest. It has a nice outdoor pool and serves breakfast. The lodge rooms have plenty of space as does the cabins. I've been to many state parks across the country coast to coast and there is a lot of nice ones; However General Butler ranks in my top 15 in both lodge and cabin rentals.

We had a great time here. Very relaxing atmosphere. The front desk clerk, Robin was so helpful and patient. It was cold (November) so the pool was closed, but it looked very nice and would ve a great place to bring the kids in the summer. We stayed in the lodge and it was nice, cozy, and inviting. The lower level rooms look as if they have been updated with wood beam ceilings and wood floors. Looks like a woodsy / cabin atmosphere. The staff was excellent!

I ate at the Two Rivers Restaurant in the park and it was great. The food was good and the staff was great. Also I was thrilled they had tables far from each other to protect us with social distancing. This was the first restaurant I have eaten in since the pandemic and I felt perfectly safe.
