Doug & Lil's Potato Patch

Was working in the area the past couple weeks and kept passing this place up every morning. I decided to try it out today and it was very good. The staff is super friendly and the place is clean. A great little mom-and-pop place for breakfast. I would definitely like to come back and try their lunch specials. Today for breakfast I had their spinach omelette with a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was very light and fluffy and the gravy was very tasty. The home fries were seasoned very well.

Just to let you know this is a cash only restaurant.

This is the best place for a delicious breakfast. I had an omelet and it was huge and stuffed with good things! They were efficient and it was a pleasant atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a sumptuous meal. The prices were reasonable.

I can't believe we've never stopped in till the other day, and I'm glad we did. Such a cute local diner. I believe the owners were there, and they're probably there every day. Servers were turnin' and burnin'. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Their iced tea is REAL iced tea--- they brew it there. And the giant mason jars they serve it in, so cute! Water served is bottled, but they bring you a mason jar of ice. They pretty much have typical breakfast items and lunch items. They have an area near the cooking station where you can sit on high stools and watch. There's also a small dining area, some booths, some tables and a couple of tables out front. Small parking area. They do not take credit or debit cards. CASH or CHECK only. Great place for breakfast or lunch. Enjoy!

This place has one of the best breakfast in Central Florida. Sausage Gravy and Biscuits are amazing but so is everything else: pancakes, eggs, farm fresh sausage, grits and coffee. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Only drawback is they don’t take cards. Bring cash and Enjoy!

Always a great experience with the friendly staff, fast service and delicious food! This is a DeLand Icon by all means.

Love this place. Not a rubber stamp Yuppie eatery. If you are old go to relive the past, if you are too young to have ever visited a real family run honest food restaurant go to enjoy what it was like in the "olden" days! We had the corn beef and cabbage and it was good, a little over cooked but good. The potato soup was the best. The service and "ambiance" are simply the best.

Food was excellent. Very crowded on a late Saturday morning but the staff did a great job of getting people in and served quickly. No credit cards accepted so make sure you've got cash!

Food was outstanding, service was a bit off this visit. Please fix the booth backs, so loose you feel every movement of the party sitting on the other side. Like eating on a roller coaster.
11/4/18 Excellent experience this visit. Egg’s Benedict, home fries and grits were very very good. The red potato home fries were the best I’ve had. Service was excellent. Kudos

Best breakfast in town. Love their pancakes and fried potatoes!

A true little treasure of a breakfast and lunch spot. Be aware that no card payments are accepted, but Walmart is near it if you need cash.

The staff were friendly from the moment we walked in. Seated right away even though they were busy, food was the most home cooked food I've ever enjoyed at a restaurant. Absolutely will visit again.

Really fresh and delicious breakfast food for a really great price! Best pancakes I’ve had in a long time, I love the homey family feel of this cute little place. Service was fast and friendly, but I do feel that it could use a little pick me up! Keep the florida country feeling but update some things and freshen it up would get even more people in the door, and also updating how to cash out so people can use their credit or debit card. :) just a friendly suggestion! Ya’ll were great.

I have been coming to the Potato Patch since 2004, and have respected all the Employees. Never thought that asking for a straw before the server could put down all of the beverages would make her berate me in front of my friends. I only asked for the straw because of a squamous cell carcinoma (Lip Cancer)that I had removed from my lower lip. I'm so sorry for the fact that I respect Doug, and have gone to Billy's Tap Room because of my respect for Doug. Michelle and Missy have always been awesome!

I lived in DeLand for 5 years, then moved to Sarasota county. Even with Sarasota swanky eateries, Doug & Lil's beat them all. They are among the top 5 things I miss the most about DeLand . A fun place to eat
( though usually very crowded) and the best breakfast in town. Can't beat the link sausages.

Great little breakfast place! We were on our way to North central Florida from S. Florida when we stumbled on this gem. Our server, “amazing” Grace was very nice & friendly! A good sense of humor as well! We were seated right away! If in area again, would definitely stop in for maybe their lunch, thank you!

Love the nostalgia of this sweet place! Doug is very hospitable….service like the old neighborhood ☺
