El Taco Rico Mexican Kitchen

we had these in Japan & was craving lately. it did not disappoint, we had to order again after we got our order, it was soooo good! definitely recommend the birria.

This spot reminds me of the Mexican food in Cali. It hits the spot if you’re looking for a quick burrito or some tacos. Their menu is expansive and there’s something for everyone. Everything can be made with no meat.

I have been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants, and by far this is the best one I've ever been to. The food is absolutely AMAZING, and the staff is cheerful and makes it feel like your at home. My new favorite restaurant by far!!!!

Personally, I look for a good bargain when I eat out. I want the food to taste good with good service at a reasonable price. El taco Rico gets all those. I did not give them a five because there to go orders are usually not correct. Two can eat moderate meals for $21. If you just want a couple tacos each the price is about $16 with a drink. Everything is made to order and the food is not overly greasy as some Mexican restaurants are. It seems to be a family run business Operated by people who do care about their customers. The grade of the meat in the tacos is above average for sure.

BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER. I ended up drinking the broth that came with my birria tacos. The tacos themselves are heavenly and put any Mexican food I've ever tasted to shame. I will be recommending El Taco Rico's to everyone, any chance I get. I'm not sure who is cooking but they deserve to be just as happy as I was eating their food.

This place is the real thing, authentic home style cooking. Fresh vegetables and great French fries. Great selection of slushy drinks.

I had their Tuesday taco special and the tacos were so good! They tasted fresh, you can tell they make them fresh. They were so crunchy and tasted great! I’ve also had the tostadas and sope a few times before and never been disappointed. Highly recommend! Staff is always friendly.

Absolutely delicious and fresh. Ordered the taco Tuesday deal and beans and rice for dinner and was so impressed. Try the birria too!

I have not been personally to the restaurant, but I’ve ordered through Uber eats and the food is amazing. The best birria taco ever it is so good. Heidi recommended this food is outstanding.

I liked it! I ate some traditional tacos with asada and lengua. The lengua was so good 👍🏽 the asada was a little dry but the salsa helped it out lol we did go on Christmas eve so i don't blame them. I would definitely go back whenever im in deland again. Have to try some other items on the menu the sopes and quesadillas sounded good, guess we'll find out next time

They're absolutely amazing! Food is super delicious, portions are big and the price is right! Can only recommend

Best Chili Relenos I have ever. All food was excellent! Chili Relenos are the back plate. Polo a la plancha is the front plate. My wife had this and she said it was excellent

WOW! I can't believe I've never been here before!!! We went on Taco Tuesday (5 hard shell tacos, $6). It was busy, so we ordered to go. Their hard taco shells are AMAZING!! Tacos were delicious!!!! Normally, if you order to go at a fast food taco place, by the time you get home they are soggy - NOT THESE!! Crispy with perfect amount of meat, cheese and lettuce. DELICIOUS!!! Hot sauce is served with the tacos too (perfection). We also got their fresh brewed sweet tea (yummy) and their Horchata is also delicious. This is going to be our go-to taco place. We will definitely be regulars!!! Very nice staff too!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆

While visiting downtown Deland, I stopped by this Mexican restaurant to grab a few tacos. It was a great decision. The food is really authentic and the place is cozy. Food was good and the service lady was nice. Totally recommend this place.

Great place to visit if you’re craving Mexican food and in town. The Birria Tacos with cheese and consommé is a must! The Menudo soup was also very very good. The chips were a little stale but it was free for the table anyway when you sit down. Everything else was awesome!

The tacos de carne asado were superb, the corn tortillas are made in-house great flavor and consistency. The food is cooked as ordered. The service is good. I really like the addition of cabbage in the tacos, great flavor.

I’m New to the Area and this place has some Great Tasting Birria Tacos and the chips and salsa you get as appetizer is awesome !

Was in town for an event at Stetson University, and the two of us were looking for an interesting place to eat, and Mexican appealed to both of us as soon as we saw this place.

It's a tiny place, and almost every table was taken (a good sign), and there was a steady stream of take-out customers. It isn't fancy, but I don't care about that at all. The food is all that counts.

We were first served a generous cup of salsa and chips. The salsa was blended smooth, not chunky, which is my favorite kind of salsa (but rare), and was spicy and delicious. The chips were house made and crispy. For my entree, I got a Wet Burrito, which is what I usually get at a Mexican restaurant, with spicy pork carnitas, and my companion got a chicken Chimichanga. Both were as perfect as we've ever had anywhere, fat and full, with a generous side of rice and refried beans. It was excellent, and so big that neither of us finished it all. We were both extremely happy with our selections.

The whole dinner came to just under $40, with tip, which is an excellent value. Chipotle wouldn't have been much less, and not nearly as good.

Later, at the event, I even overheard one student recommending it to another student.

A grand slam home run, and highly, highly recommended.
