One of the Atlanta area churches that offers support to the homeless. Showers, laundry, and a meal on Sundays. Friendly, kind-hearted volunteers. Thank you First Methodist of Tucker for your help and hospitality.

My heart is with this church. From my first visit to Georgia the Lord lead me to this church. It has played a pivotal part in my journey. My wife and I got engaged in December 2017 just after the annual Christmas play. The people are great and the word of God is very active here. A very warm and friendly family environment. Children will love the various ministries that cater to them. There are free keyboard and music lessons on Wednesdays, and many other free services.

I love attending Tucker First UMC in Tucker, GA. The church has wonderful Sunday worship services (traditional and modern) but it also has a ministry for every member of the family. We have active ministries for music & arts, children, youth, and missions as well as a wide variety of classes and Bible studies.

I fell in love with this church the first time I visited because it felt like home. You could feel its history in the walls and in the people but you also got a sense that the congregation knew to keep pressing forward and not rest on the laurels and achievements of the past.

This story began 23 years ago. I gave my heart to Christ our Lord in 1996 at a Unitarian church. Shortly afterwards, that sweet little Church closed its doors. Being a minority, a US citizen, who has been in this country for 49 years, living in the South, I've encountered a lot of prejudice, snide remarks, and all else that goes along with 'looking' different and not having been born here, by the GRACE of GOD. I've attended many churches during special holidays throughout the years and have met many "Christians" who talk a great deal about God - but don't follow neither the 10 Commandments nor the New Covenant delivered to us by our King, Lord and Savior. All of that left me disillusioned with organized religion.

Many of the "Christians" I've encountered are really good people, they do good deeds and care for others, but every once in a while in conversation it would slip... that deep down they didn't see the Christ in those less fortunate or marginalized. Everything Christ taught us NOT to do.
The prejudices towards those who don’t look, live, or believe exactly as they do was palatable to me, being an empath and highly sensitive to the deep feelings of others...

I finally gave up on finding another church like Unity, where I felt accepted and loved for who I truly am in my Soul, just a couple of millimeters below my outer exterior. I worshiped at home in my own way, doubted God even existed on many occasion... but God in his wisdom and grace, continued to be patient and kind. He never gave up on ME. Then one day, a sweet and dear friend of mine from High School invited me to see her husband Michael Duffee perform (sing and play his guitar) at their church. God has blessed him with a beautiful voice, musical talent, and kind loving soul who is admired and loved by all those who are blessed to know him. The contemporary service was fun and uplifting.

Being a music lover, I was hooked on the loving, positive energy I felt each time I visited. So, every chance I could, I joined Nancy at her church. Then, one day... life took an amazing turn. On Easter Sunday 2019, I was so blessed to attend the tradition service. Pastor Gerald, a Godsend, explained the true meaning of Easter like I'd never heard it before. In simple terms, he explained the HOPE that our King bestowed upon mankind when He rose from the dead and why there was so much reason to be happy, not sad about the Crucifixion. He said, "not only do we not have to fear death, but we also no longer have to fear LIFE." That ONE sermon, in an instant, literally healed my heart.

I left that day as a NEW person, literally. Gone was the pain, the weight, and the worry of the world I've been carrying for 40 plus years. A few weeks later, on Mother's Day 2019, the Holy Spirit called me to take the final step towards accepting Christ once again, as my King, Lord, and Savior.... and at the end of Pastor Gerald's sermon, he always asks if there is anyone there who feels the calling to join their ministry. I felt a voice inside saying… NOW, go now! I walked down to Pastor Gerald, with my dear friend by my side, and took the vow to join this amazing place of worship. All those I've met at Tucker First United Methodist are some of the most caring, truly loving, and accepting people I've ever met. They're not just talking the talk, they're walking it with everything they do for their communities and outreach to those less fortunate, here in their own community and beyond.

I've finally found my forever Spiritual home... a place where I can continue to grow, worship, help others, and live my life as a true Disciple. I can't say enough about this amazing Church, Pastor, and Church Family. For the first time in decades, I finally feel WHOLE again. I hope you decide to visit this sweet little church to see and feel the Love and kindness for yourself. <3 Mana De Leon
