Cafe Du Jour @ The Whistle Stop

This place was GREAT all around! Immediately when you walk in, the atmosphere just makes you feel like you are sitting in a café in France. I sat near a window and it just felt like I was in a different country. The staff are super friendly and helpful as well. Just when I thought it couldn't get much better, our food came out. Their sandwiches are some of the BEST sandwiches I have ever had. I was talking with my mother, and she said that it was the first meal in a little while that she thought was worth every penny. If you are looking for a great French atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing food all in one, this restauraunt is the right place for you.

Very nice warm atmosphere. Morning biscuits are fantastic just by themselves or add simply a fried egg or even sausage or bacon. Coffee of any style will leave you pleasantly satisfied. They open at 6:00 in the morning so it’s nice to stop by on the way to work for an order to be put together quickly and then on your way.

You will be PLEASANTLY surprised by this AWESOME CAFE! My guy and I enjoyed a grilled chicken salad and had bowls of the corn and shrimp soup.
The staff is friendly and doesn't mind interacting with patrons to help them figure out what may befit their appetites.
This place is definitely the type of spot you drive to from afar just to dine-in for great food.

What a wonderful place to relax and eat at, especially after checking out the antique shops. I've been a couple of times.

The muffaletta is a satisfy must! The turkey bacon club has pesto - delicious! Lastly, the gumbo is yumbo!

I look forward to trying the other items on the menu and I know you will too.

Excellent iced lattes! The breakfast wrap was perfect and you can customize it. Did not order a cookie but these were fresh out the oven and look yummy!!!!

A GREAT first visit ! I had the Muffalato . One of the best to have had in years ! Staff was helpful and professional . I WILL be back .

Cute little place in an old house with delicious sandwiches, soup, baked goods,coffee, tea. Chicken salad was delicious.People were very nice. Looked like a cute town with lots of antique stores. Much better than a chain restaurant!

Really good coffee, spinach and crab soup is the best when they make it. Friendly people, relaxed atmosphere.

Heritage House folk recommended Whistle Stop for lunch today and we were quite pleased. The young energetic trio there who served us were a breath of fresh air. Not sure what the future holds for them but if hospitality and customer service means anything, they’re headed for good things. Thanks again.

The atmosphere is cozy, romantic in an old cafe way. The staff were friendly and happy, always good to see. The food was great which seems to be rare near Baton Rouge. The ingredients were very fresh, the bread was amazing, and everything on the menu sounds so good. I will be coming back for sure.

Excellent customer service, phenomenal coffee, and delicious sandwiches. This is a must try for anyone passing through or a local. The hours are a bit odd but that is the only complaint I could possibly give.

The ham and Swiss croissant is absolutely to die for!!! It came so warm with delicious melty cheese. This place is a must stop!!

This place is absolutely AMAZING. Me and some family got together today and we sat in this little coffee shop for hours!! So long that they had closed, and they still let us sit there an hour after closing and catch up with one another. Their service was great, the coffee was delicious, nobody was judgmental about anything and we felt VERY welcome. I will 110% be back!!

The atmosphere is very chill and cozy. The employees were very friendly. Kid friendly place. The food was AMAZING. I got a breakfast burrito and everything in it was fresh. Had real eggs in it. Coffee was great too. Would definitely recommend this place!

I had no idea this place existed until my friend brought me here for lunch. The food was delicious! The menu’s selection of drinks and food exceeded my expectations. What really took the cake was the ambiance. You can sit inside and enjoy the decor or sit outside on the deck to soak up the view. I’ll definitely be back!!

We had Cafe au Lait, a scone, and a blueberry muffin (lots of blueberries!). The pastries were tasty and the beverages were wonderful. I met the owner with whom I had a nice chat. It was a great visit.

Here you will be treated to an excellent cup of coffee served by Southern ladies. The croissants are as flaky as a USC cheerleader and so perfectly toasted that your tongue will slap your face!

Real beaded sealing lines the walls with big windows for watching the world slide by.
