What a fantastic concept this place has made into reality. Yoga on one side with plenty of classes and ways to hone in your inner self peace and stretching to a dog friendly bar zone. Lots of activities and events planned weekly. We went on market day where local vendors had hand made soaps, candles, jewelry, and obviously more. It’s was so relaxing and freeing to have the pups run around us and get a great local beer, wine, mimosa. Can’t say enough about this place. If you’re looking for something fun and new this place has it in spades! Cheers!!

DOWN DOG UP LEVELED MY ENTIRE LIFE. Every class is the definition of mind, body, and spirit!

I like arriving early and heading in through the doggy day care to be greeted by the pups in back! It’s a great mood booster!

Katie, Amber, Reneé, Megan, Jacqueline, Erin, Sophie, Dani, Kaileen, THANK YOU!! <3

The instructors always show up with full hearts and allow space for you to flow as you like and do what makes you happy in your practice. So much talent for guiding the flow!!

By far my favorite place to practice yoga! The teachers are knowledgeable and welcoming. There is a class for everyone here, heated, unheated, strength based, slow flow, power flow, stretch, etc. And the dog bar it’s awesome. Dogs (and humans) have so much fun playing with friends. Trivia nights are cool too.

I have been a member of Down Dog for about a month now and not only have I been so impressed by all the staff and yoga instructors, but the added bonus of my dog getting to socialize while I get a nice stretch in the other room is awesome! They have hosted some incredible events like the Pride flow and dog competition (which my pooch won second place).

The energy in this studio is palpable and I love all the positivity Down Dog emits. Thank you guys for being so welcoming to me and my pup as new AVL locals!

Reservations for classes is highly recommended. We were lucky and snuck into a “candle light” restorative yoga class on Wednesday night taking the last two available spots (mats and props are available for use). The class flowed fairly well and the instructor was helpful for gently correcting form as needed. We didn’t get a chance to try the bar this trip but look forward to visiting again.

I love this place! It is awesome to enjoy yoga and also give your dog time to play with other dogs. Each class is unique and has the instructor’s individual style. The studio is gorgeous. Such a great place!

Down Dog's yoga instructors are the best! I can count on down dog yoga to work my muscles in the sculpt class, get me moving to my breath in power flow classes, slow down with stretch and restore, and find ways to hang out upside down in inversion workshops. Come as you are, down dog is welcoming and happy to have all levels and abilities. Oh and hanging out with pups after class is a major bonus!

We visited Down Dog on a Dec evening when Asheville Humane Society had dog photos with Santa. If you aren’t a member a $5 one day pass can be purchased for entry. Dogs of all sizes were everywhere and a group rushed to meet our dog, a senior who doesn’t always do well with other dogs.
If you have a young dog who needs a playgroup, and you’d like a drink out or a yoga class you can do all 3 @ Down Dog.

I need more than 5 stars! This may be my new favorite place on earth. Absolute perfection in hot yoga with warm inviting low lit space, lovely well trained super laid back instructors, excellent prop selection, solid audio accompaniment, and iced lavender towels.. I mean come on! All this not even including evening dog play, beautiful outdoor seating, and BEER!

We were in town visiting a friend with our two dogs, we had never been before, and they made the whole process super easy!

It was only $5 for the day, and we had to provide our vaccination records which is a nice peace of mind that other people have to do the same. The workers help police the dogs, everyone was relaxed and the vibe was awesome. 10/10 recommend and I wish we had something near us in South Jersey!

Been going to down dog since October 2021 and have been LOVING it! I go 3-4 times a week. The instructors and owners are such genuine people! You can really tell they love what they do and they take the time to get to know you!

The heated power flow and sculpt are my favorite! It’s such a great workout and I love the environment down dog offers for not only yogis but dogs and their owners. The bar section is so adorable! There is a little something for everyone! Highly recommend checking this spot out!

Yoga, a beautiful space, and soon to be beer and dogs... what more could you ask for? Love this studio already! My hot power class with Maunie was the first power class I’ve taken in Asheville that was a proper butt-kicking power class. Definitely feeling it today! Can’t wait to see this place fully blossom over the next few weeks 💗

Down Dog AVL is the BEST! I have been attending regularly since they opened a year ago. The space is beautiful, clean and inviting. The instructors are inspiring, kind and have become great friends with us over the past year. The bar has such great alcoholic and nonalcoholic options (love the cold brew on tap!). But Of course, the PUPS steal the show! <3 Highly recommend!!!

Down Dog is the place of dreams! I can't believe this concept is real, and it is such a perfect fit for Asheville. We've been coming here since it opened, and have only ever had lovely experiences. The dog bar side often has awesome events going on (we especially love Tuesday Trivia), and is staffed with dog-lovers who always make a point to say hi to our pup when we come! The yoga studio is my favorite in town--they have a nice variety (heated/unheated, power flow/slow flow, sculpt/restore) and the teachers here are warm and welcoming, incredibly knowledgable, and really know how to lead an amazing class. When I'm signed up for a class here, I look forward to it all day!

This place is fantastic! I’m not into yoga but I go about once a week just to enjoy their indoor/outdoor dog (off leash) bar area. Tuesdays are tacos and trivia, Wednesday is $5 wines. They have other events such as a recent paint your dog workshop where you ended up leaving with an 8x10 canvas painting of your dog, guided by a professional.
Last Thursday we went to live music and lobster rolls (food truck)! Awesome evening.
If you are into yoga they have classes. People bring their dogs and can leave them in the bar area. There are dog minders to ensure they are behaving
Overall, a nice friendly and safe space for you, your friends and your dogs!!

Down Dog is the BEST! There's a yoga class for everyone, or if that's not your thing, the bar is a nice indoor/outdoor space with the cutest dogs! Our pup Moose literally drags us through the door when we take him. It's his favorite place. :)

Down dog is the best spot for yoga! Coolest, most helpful instructors ever. Plus the cold, lavender towel makes me feel so fancy. Also I love petting dogs after class.

I have been going to the yoga at the studio for the last 5-6 months, and have taken classes with most of the teachers, and loved them. I haven't been regular with my practice in the past, but since starting at this studio the artwork and energy of the teachers and students keeps me going. I find the teachers to be kind and encouraging. I love the concept of a yoga studio with a place for dogs to relax -feels more like Asheville. On rare occasion when a class got cancelled - the owner reached out and apologized for the last minute changes in class.

Friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and supportive staff. Physically and mentally safe space to practice, clean studio with great amenities such as changing rooms and doggie daycare. Love the community they're building and their commitment to social causes. I’ve enjoyed my experience so much I signed up for a membership! So happy to have found my yoga home!

Can not speak to the bar/dog play (yet, but that’s coming, trust me) but the environment and yoga class is AMAZING. First and foremost the attention to detail and students goes far beyond many of the studios I’ve been too, and I’ve tried many. I’m all about a small business and this is one to support. The prices are incredibly reasonable too. It’s such a great cross between zen and fun.
