American Home & Hardware

I always find American Home & Hardware folks to be very businesslike and courteous and VERY knowledgeable. They are a bit pricey but have such a huge inventory that they can most often take care of ALL my hardware needs during just one visit, and that saves me the cost of also going elsewhere. THAT'S BIG !!!!!!! They have oodles of parking space near their back entrance.

Everyone from top on down is polite and professional. I have been going there since 1987 and I have never had a bad experience. They are even patient with me when I keep going back several times to check something out, to ensure it is the right purchase for me. They are a great hometown store. They back everything that they sell. Last summer, I purchased a Stihl battery mower and it is awesome, Thanks Dave!

Shop here often for things around the house or things needed for work. Can always find what I need and everyone is always very friendly and helpful

Love shopping local, there is always help available. I have to say Ted who makes keys, is the absolute best! I have had numerous keys made here and there has never ever been one that didn't work! The best hardware store around!

This business has been around since I can remember. I remember going with my dad as a little girl. They are a small business that make it very convenient for locals to get the supplies they need at a reasonable cost. Especially during these very challenging times, I appreciate the fact they ration the amout of supplies per customer -- it shows they care about their community & they are trying to have supplies when customers need it, & not only worried about making a buck. Thank you, American Home & Hardware.

As the owner of a local construction company for over 30 years I can say that American Home & Hardware has the best staff & service that you will ever find. They are locally owned. You money stays in the community when you purchase from American Home. I would five 6 stars if possible. Keep up the good work!!!

Great place to go for your hardware needs! They are all trained and experienced plus they have humans operating the check out lines! Forget the big box stores!

My family business and myself personally have been buying from this store for years. All the way from full house lumber, windows and door packages to house hold cleaner. The employees are always knowledgeable and over extend themselves to ask if they can help. This is a reputable family business and I STRONGLY recommend shopping here. (Also a historic Elkton landmark ;)

The store is always clean and the employees are always helpful. I never have a problem sending my wife in for some lumber or material I miscalculated for a home project. They pic nice pieces and help load it.

Been a customer here for almost 40 years. They have grown and changed quite a bit over time but they still provide courteous service and there's always plenty of people in the store who are very willing to help! They have a robust line of rental equipment that we use fairly regularly as well.

We we're headed north on our boat and needed $7.00 worth of parts. I called, explained our situation and the folks at Elkton supply didn't miss a beat. They took the order, were very careful to get the correct parts, took a credit card, recommended the best place to dock, delivered the parts and confirmed how to get them. We we're very happy and now my wife has hot water.... happy wife happy life.

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. They are always willing to go the extra mile to help you get the material needed at a fair price. I shop local and can always rely on American Home to deliver quality products!

It was great . so easy to buy a bag of mulch.In had just been to another store had to walk from the parking lot near the garden center back to the other end of the huge store in the cold and rain because the end where I parked you couldn't use the doors.then after going inside I had to walk all the way to the back of the store to get to the garden center. Then found out you could only buy what was inside of the garden center. Even though they had stacks and stacks of mulch outside the store. Then I had to walk back to the front again to get out and then thru the rain and cold back to the far parking lot to get to my car. I'm 83 years old. And I was one upset senior. Them decided to stop at American Home and Hardware. It was like O my gosh why didn't I stop here in the first place.

This is a great store. I took a contractor friend from NJ to the store just to see it. Four different associates asked to help us. Amazing. You don't have to walk miles in a big box store. Everything is right there.

For the sixth time in three months (what can I say- COVID-19) I ran in to American Home and Hardware for home improvement materials. I am never more than 10 ft in the door before someone helpfully asks what I need. Yesterday it was conduit. I needed two 6ft lengths and it came in 10ft lengths. They offered to cut it for me and within ten minutes I had everything I needed, including hardware for my project, and was walking out the door. This place is the Chick Fil A of hardware stores! Outstanding customer service and experienced staff make this a fantastic place for all your hardware needs.

I was looking for a few specific items, the staff there took me directly to what I was looking for, I chatted with them about the project I was working on, and they agreed with my technique. Awesome people.
