This place is truly fabulous, and they have apparently never stopped working to make it better. Our food was excellent! And the atmosphere here has always been awesome. It's absolutely worth the trip!

Great place to stop by water and grab something to eat. Had a lovely lunch out on the top deck. Staff was friendly and food came out as it should. Great views and a lovely setting. Would come back for sure if I ever go by again.

Sandy, Melissa, Sarah and Chef! What an awesome night you gave family and friends for my son, and at the time, my future daughter in-law's rehearsal dinner. We had such a great night and the food was excellent! Just a few were trying to figure out how to smuggle out the cream of crab soup! LOL! THANK YOU. The beautiful couple said "I Do" the following day.

I was part of a large crowd having lunch after a funeral. The wait staff was amazing. I'm sorry I didn't get out waitress's name but she was superb. She had to deal with many very elderly people and she has such a patience and good humor. We were there Friday 1/5/2024 around 1:00. The staff deserves a treat. Also the food was delicious! I do wish I had ordered a salad with salmon on it as someone else did. The salmon looked to be the biggest and best piece of salmon I've ever seen in a restaurant. Thank you to everyone who made a funeral luncheon spectacular!

We are a group of women who have been great friends for over 65 years. (Yes, some of us went to kindergarten together) We grew up in the same neighborhood in Philadelphia and went to the same high school. After college we have gone our separate ways but still get together twice a year. One of our group lives in Baltimore and the rest of us are still in the Philadelphia area so we were looking for a destination that was halfway between all of us and Schaeffer's it was. Over the years we have tried other places but nothing compares to Schaeffer's. We only get together twice a year so we always overstay our welcome but we always over-compensate our wait staff!

We loved it! We sat outside and had a great view of the bridge and canal. The food, atmosphere, and service were all great. I had the C&D Jambalaya. It was really delicious. However, I would advise not getting it when it's hot outside because it is spicey! I loved it, but sweated the entire time. The cold beer helped. We also had the peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer and it was really great. We all at a great time there and got a beautiful sunset to add to our experience. Mine meal was a little pricey, but well worth it. Parking can be a challenge.

My mom, grandma and I visited Schaefer’s as a last hurrah to summer and I can’t say enough positive things about it! Everything we ordered was absolutely incredible and delicious. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and gave tips and recommendations. We loved the outdoor seating area!

We arrived a Shaefer's, tired and weary.
Steve served us, positively cheery.
Refueled and rested, we became.
Steve we recommend, I simply must name.

After a long, arduous voyage from New York City, we stopped at Shaefer's to refuel and rest. I must say the fine gentleman who assisted us, Steve, was the most genuine, helpful individual and met our every request. I highly recommend Shae
fer's for any service, especially the lovely gentleman, Steve.

The lobster melt sandwich is literally amazing and I always order it every time I go. It comes with a side so I usually pick caesar salad which is also amazing.

My family and I visited Schaefer’s Canal House for my mother’s 60th birthday. We normally go in the spring and summer to sit out on the deck but the winter time is just as nice. We went on a Tuesday, which was comfort food night and we ordered Chicken Parmigiana. It was outstanding. It was good portion size and reasonably priced. Our waitress, Erin was very nice and checked on us several times. My husband and mother had dessert which was plated nicely. Definitely a nice evening and will be back soon.

It's a bit of a wait but typical for the Schaefers Canal House located on the C&D canal. On a busy Saturday evening our server "Ryan" was awesome...went the extra mile to get our order and drinks in so we did not go hungry or thirsty very long. I ordered the Black and Blue burger, although this place has a large selection of seafood.

The server Kali was a delight & very patient with our dining party of about 15 peeps. That shrimp & crab quesadilla was delicious.

Visited Schaefers for a funeral after service. Our servers provided impeccable service. We didn't have to search them out for anything. They were there promptly for beverage refills and serving food. The crab imperial stuffed flounder was excellent. I can't remember both names but one of them was "Willa". I can't say enough good things about the service.

What a wonderful experience to be had at this historic venue! Live music was so tastefully performed by talented musicians, service excellent by staff of knowledgeable mixologist and servers, food preparation a delight for the palate, and stunning visuals completed my first visit!! Thanks for a wonderful Saturday afternoon....

We've been across the canal numerous times, but finally decided to dock here to check the place out, and it was fantastic. The band really created atmosphere and got the place going. It was a fun crowd, but not at all cramped like Chesapeake Inn. The food runners must have been really slow, I felt terrible when our oysters came out soggy, submerged in a lake of water, but they brought a fresh set out over ice with no qualms. And they were fresh, right up there with the raw bars along the coast. We're looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu and space. And we love that it's dog friendly!!
