The Block Restaurant Webster Groves

The block is consistently a good experience and tonight was no exception. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The bacon jam here is amazing. If you get something and it's an option to add it, do it. It's that good. I opted for the burger tonight with a side salad. Filling without being heavy. My spouse had the pork and dumplings. It was rich and really filling. We will definitely be back.

The food was amazing. Every bit as good as anywhere else in Old Town Webster. Also, I'm not sure why it says $30-50 a plate. $20-30 is more accurate beyond the market cuts of steak. I highly recommend!

Very HAPPY Happy Hour! What a great which started with Jeremy, our excellent server. Deep understanding of the menu, gave us time to enjoy our cocktails and never felt rushed. The sidewalk table was so comfortable and well spaced, the weather was beautiful, and I was so surprised to see all the activity from people of all ages. Now for the drink and food. I started with an Old Fashioned and it was excellent! My wife had the chardonnay also very nice. We started with the flatbread special that had braised short ribs, then the meatballs with polenta and then the beet salad. Great combination. We finished with the peach/blueberry cobbler. I am looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.

This is a very customer service oriented restaurant that is clean and serves very good food. We had the brisket sandwich and mac and cheese with short ribs. The brisket was amazingly tender though perhaps less lean than ideal, but that's a tough balancing act. The mac and ribs was wonderful. The meat was tender, moist and delicious. Service was fast and staff was friendly and professional. It was great to see couples, kids, old young...everyone having fun and enjoying meals together. Tables are nicely spaced and there is even nice outside seating, with staff caring for everyone. Prices are really good and servings are generous. The water was also good.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. No wait for a table at 7PM on a Thursday. Nice atmosphere, casual, quiet enough to hold a conversation. Good table spacing. Very pleasant greeting and seating experience. Service was prompt, pleasant, and very knowledgeable. We ordered a salad - split - as a starter and the sirloin steak and pork and dumplings as entrées. Salad was well presented and unique. Nicely chilled. Wine by the glass was excellent. Entrées came out quickly and well presented. House cut steak was thick and perfectly rare, as requested. Delicious! Diced potato, fresh green beans and house made steak sauce surrounding the steak. Pork dish was a complex assembly of ingredients - pulled pork, small dumplings, fennel, sauce with shaved hard cheese topping. Both dishes were delicious and huge portions. Only knock was both dishes were very salty. I have seen this comment before in reviews of this restaurant. I recommend when ordering to ask for less salt. My wife is an acknowledged salt-a-holic and it was a little too much for her. Without the salt dosage this is a 5 star food rating! We will visit again.

This place is great. One of my favorite places to go to for dinner dates with my wife. Food is always delicious. Their specials are always new, interesting, and amazing. The staff is super knowledgeable about the food and also take my wife's AIP food requests with care. Fantastic experience all around.

Bring your appetite; large portion sizes. Great service. Fun Butcher Block martinis (if you like gin try their Disco Devil 10). The Roasted Local Apple Salad is great. Steaks and pork chops are hefty portion sizes and a cooked superbly. The pork chop with the sweet potato hash is fantastic. Their burgers are excellent also. Probably the best french fries in town. The flash fried brussel sprouts are good, but they could be better if they had a little less oil on them.

Very good experience. The Butcher's Board was awesome as an appetizer. I had the fish special and my wife had the pork dumplings. Amazing. Desert was well done, too. The waiter made good suggestions, too. Also, nice beer menu and drink selection. We'll be going back.

Great food, exceptional service, and good location. Our party of 5 enjoyed everything we ordered. My boys raved about the brussel sprouts and that never happens! There's a case in front where you can order cuts to go. Highly recommend.

One of our favorites in town. Because they use natural ingredients and grass fed steaks this was always a place we could hit up if we're were trying to do keto or Whole 30. I always go with the ribeye steak and fries, but get the sauce on the side.

Rarely have we seen the place packed with a line, but we may just be going at awkward times. Ambiance is pretty chill. They have a solid draft beer selection. Service has always been good to great. Parking mostly off-street with a smallish lot behind it, but the side block right next to the place usually always has spots.

I was looking for a grass-fed ribeye, this place delivered! The steak was great, atmosphere and service were also amazing.

It comes with fries but I went with the green beans and she went with the whipped potatoes.

Finished off the meal with an amazing southern bread pudding with vanilla ice cream.

I loved the service (waited on by Alex. She was great!). The food was mostly amazing. And the one thing that my friend didn't care for was taken care of! I also bought meat from their butcher's case and am looking forward to cooking it! All in all would recommend and return!

Service was exceptional. Food and drinks were spot on. Most tender chicken breast ever. We will be back!

The atmosphere was warm and cozy with a hint of refinement. It's a great place for a date or a nice evening out. They staff couldn't have been more compliant. Very friend and knowledge. They are butcher's shop so vegans need not come. Offerings were exceptional. The brussel sprouts appetizer are excellent, not healthy considering the bacon and bacon grease but they were brilliant! The flatbread with chicken and pork special were absolutely delicious. The Block is definitely a step up from the chain restaurants and below a restaurant in clayton. It is perfectly situated in Webster Groves. I high recommend​.

I don't know what possessed me to order the pork chop. I don't really like pork chops. But this one was so good! I couldn't believe it! Others in my party got the butcher cut which was phenomenal. I was blown away with how good the food was. Absolutely will be coming here again!

Had a delightful experience here on a busy Saturday night. They were able to seat us within 20 minutes, as a walk-in. The staff was lovely and friendly, and all wearing the cutest sweaters. Highly recommend the whipped feta. Our burgers were so very fresh and stayed hot hot hot. 10/10 great service and incredible food.

One of the best steaks you can get in Webster Groves and surrounding area. Their customer service is what really makes this place shine. The servers are always armed with valuable knowledge pertaining to cuts, beers, and seasonal items on the menu. Don't get me started on their cast iron cookie.... it's a must have. I am practically drooling over it now.

Wow, just wow! The food here was so freakin delicious. We ordered the Farmstead Foods Chicken, Flash Fried Brussel Sprouts and Pork & Dumplings. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Our food order came out super fast. I highly enjoyed the experience at The Block and I’m sure you will to.

Incredibly tasty food, with richly flavored meats. I grabbed a sandwich on special and was pleased. Their fries were surprisingly also top notch.
