Lovely pastry and coffee shop in Asheville's beautiful historic downtown. The shop has a great selection of delicious pastries made from favorite European recipes and also serves great coffee. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old Budapest cafe (the owner is originally from Hungary) and it feels like an entry into another world and another time. The staff is very friendly and I was impressed that they knew the right Hungarian pronunciation for the names of the desserts. I truly felt transported to Old Europe in this pastry shop and I love it!

If you love awesome desserts, this place is a must to visit! It’s my all-time favorite when I have a craving for something sweet & delicious. It’s worth breaking the diet for! And, there’s many gluten free varieties that are delish!
My favorites are the Coconut Cake. It’s very light, moist and delicately sweet. I also love the Gluten Free Chocolate Truffle Cake. It is very creamy and just chocolate enough without being overpowering. I’m glad I don’t live very close, or I suffer much temptation too frequently! We usually get 4 pieces boxed nicely to go. Each cake slice has a paper strip around it. Keeps the flavors separated in the box. And makes picking up and placing on a plate very easy.

Super cute spot with sweet treats! It was small and so it was a little crowded, but the baristas were very nice. One of them even complimented my new glasses that I am still getting used to. My partner and I tried the pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin bread. The former was a first for us, both smooth and delicious. The latter seemed to be a little old but was still soft and good. Highly recommend! Music 10/10

We came for the macaroons and stayed for the coffee. Also, we tried the tiramisu. Big portions, great flavor. Parking on the street. Free on on Sundays. The cappuccino was just heavenly. Small establishment but crowd moves fast.

The cheesecake is to die for. Lemon tart pretty good. I would love to try everything on the menu. No line at 6pm. A bit pricey but it’s expected

small bakery/cafe with plenty of coffee and drink options as well as a wide variety of desserts to try. the counter workers were lovely and patient. we got the godiva cheesecake and the tiramisu. i am a tiramisu connoisseur and i enjoy the kinds that have a more coffee taste over super sweet taste and this one was an absolute perfect balance. probably one of the best tiramisus i’ve had! can’t wait to be back to try more desserts when we’re in asheville again.

i’ll say i didn’t really care for the atmosphere inside. it had a high ceiling and dark lighting — both of which i love — but the noise inside echoed greatly against the walls. every table was taken, so if noise in a coffee shop isn’t your thing, try coming in early morning. that might be quieter than when the families are out in the evening.

Great variety of deserts. Has cherry Black Forest cake, cheese cake, blueberry crumble, coffee, it was 4pm on Saturday, right after we left the place was packed. Great spot to come after dinner. The tiramisu was good too!

Old Europe has been a favorite for many years. My husband and I have ended many dates here. We stop in and grab desserts to go. I adore their selection of gluten free desserts. I have become obsessed with their macarons. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

A very beautiful and quaint coffee and pastry shop. Very nice decor and cool atmosphere. Provides delicious coffee and very pretty pastries. Enjoyed great espresso and tiramisu here. Croissants are also super good. Very friendly staff, can’t go wrong going here for your mourning routine.

I love this little place. I’ve gone here so many times and every time has been a delightful experience. There’s a great variety… I’ve tried the Godiva Cheesecake, Hazelnut Napoleon, Tiramisu, Espresso Roulade, Turo Berry Torte, Strawberry Mousse Cake, Vegan Chocolate Cupcake, and different Macarons. They were all soooo yummy!! 😋 It’s a nice place to hang with your spouse or group of friends. I love the aesthetic so much. I’ve also had their Spicy Mocha—it was so spicy and it warmed me up good lol

Do visit this little gem of Asheville. It’s worth every bite… It may leaving you wanting more!

Oh, honey, let me tell you about Old Europe Pastries. They've got a selection of gluten-free baked goods that will make your head spin! Whether you're looking for a single slice or the whole darn cake, your tastebuds are going to thank you.

And let's talk about their incredible new location - it's downtown and right across the street from their old spot. This one has plenty of room for seating and a bar upfront for some primo people watching on the sidewalk.

But let's get back to the goodies. They've got such a huge gluten-free which is so rare - all baked fresh and with so much flavor and perfect consistency you'll forget they're gluten-free.

The staff is always friendly and welcoming, too. I love popping in for a quick treat or to meet up with friends for a coffee and pastry date. Trust me, Old Europe Pastries is the real deal. If you're in the area and looking for some gluten-free baked goods that don't sacrifice flavor, head on over. This place definitely deserves a 5-star rating!

Definitely try the Tiramisu and Coconut pastries. All the pastries were super fresh. We also ordered the raspberry 6 inch cake for a friends birthday. It was super fresh and tasty. The ambience is very nice. They have good collection of gluten free pastries and macaroons.
