I absolutely love Skinny Beats Sound Shop! Billy (the owner) is super friendly and knowledgeable about sound healing and the instruments they carry. I purchased a set of crystal quartz singing bowls, an ocean drum, a rainstick, and a wooden shell chime from the shop. I've also attended an in-person sound bath here, which was an amazing experience. The sound baths are held weekly at 11am on Saturdays and Sundays. The shop was recently renovated so the room where customers can browse and play instruments is separate from the studio where classes and workshops are held. This allows for participants to have a more private and intimate experience. There are a variety of instruments and services offered here, and everything is reasonably-priced. Stumbling upon this shop was such a gift to me. I love the energy in the space, and I have been very satisfied with the instruments I've purchased so far.

Masterful sound magician and musician. Everyone should experience his concert of sound therapy at least once in a lifetime. You will want to return and you'll send your friends. For those of you thinking he charges too much, he sells the highest of quality products and he has boundaries with his merchandise. He is amazing! Take yourself on a sound journey!

I’m from Cincinnati, OH, and every time we’re in Asheville, we book a sound healing session with Billy. The meditative words, wide array of instruments, beautiful studio and Billy’s talent combine to make these sessions fabulous! I can absolutely recommend!

We did the sound bath a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It was very relaxing and the space was safe, clean, and therapeutic.

Sound Healing Session Sublime!
Although I've had a number of sound vibration and gong sessions over the years I never experienced anything like yesterday's session at Skinny Beats!
It was one of the most found, notable sensory experiences ever. Billy guided us through a meditation in which we were deeply relaxed and just allowed the sound to fully wash over and through us. It was inspired, creative and profoundly restorative.
This is one of the reasons people come to visit Asheville and one of the reasons they stay!
Can't wait to move here so I can do this regularly!

I found the sound healing session so peaceful and exactly what I needed. It was a great set up and very professional even if you're a skeptic. Peak of my week.

Also the gentleman managing the session with the long hair was super easy on the eyes (which was a bonus). Sorry, had to say it.

WOW...! I read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews, and I'm shocked. I was visiting from Beaufort, SC, and I went into the store with 3 kids. A cool employee was there (see image), and yes, he did tell us that he'd prefer it if we didn't touch some of the instruments, but he did it very nicely... and he asked us if we'd like him to play for us. He played for about 5 minutes on the quartz bowls, the gong, and a few other instruments.

IT WAS AMAZING!!!

He also invited us to the Saturday "Sound Healing" and it was a full house... It was about 15 of us, laying on the floor, and the owner - Billy Zansky - led us through an amazing meditation (about 3 to 4 minutes wih his words... then about 30-some minutes with his music)... even my 9-year old enjoyed it tremendously.

Loved the store - they have a unique selection of sound instruments... each one is precious! What I loved even more was this beautiful sound healing session that we attended. It’s so different from any sound healing session I’ve been to. Billy uses multiple instruments during the session... each one has such a beautiful sound that you leave feeling happy and energized.

This is a super cool place to visit. I attend a drum class every Wednesday and I love it. Billy the owner is a great musician and teacher and makes the class so much fun. If you are looking for sound healing instruments. You will find it at skinny beats.

We went to an individual sound healing session and it was amazing! We contacted Billy and he offered us several time options. It was an incredible experience! I highly recommend it! Very rejuvenating!

If you have ever contemplated going to a sound healing class go to Billys!! It's as if he is part human part octopus during his sessions. So many different instruments, sounds and vibrations. He is a one man band and will take you on an inner journey. He also is a great teacher. Taking hand pan lessons with him. He is so patient and makes me feel at ease as I'm learning.
