Village Wayside Bar & Grille

This place was great! We had a very fancy dinner on our weekend trip and they served us so little food we were still hungry after. We stopped here on a whim and shared the cuban cowboy sandwich. On the recommendation of our server, we had the pasta salad. Both were delicious! The brisket and pork were so juicy. The service was quick and helpful. The place had a cool vibe and we very much enjoyed our experience. We would definitely come back.

Old train depot converted to a restaurant. Service was wonderful and food was so good. Nice variety on the menu. I had the chicken Philly sandwich with cheese fries and pasta salad. Husband had doc Carlos chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries

One of my favorite lunch spots in Asheville. They tell me the train never passes thru but two trips ago it did. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great selection of IPAs.. If you haven’t dined at the Village Wayside…..What are you waiting for?????

Really amazing service, came on a Saturday evening for dinner and we were promptly served. Our waitress was very attentive and had our drinks and food out very quickly. We got a gyro and quinoa bowl. The quinoa was so good and the peanut sauce is amazing. Everyone was super nice and the restaurant has fun decor. If in the area I’d definitely come back.

We had a great lunch here. I had the meatball sandwich which was delicious! My friends had the wings and the chicken sandwich. Both were really good. We enjoyed it and would recommend it.

We had a great dinner here! Highly recommended. It was delicious. Brisket plate and Fettuccine Carbonara. We were only in town for the weekend, but I got the impression they stay very busy. No reservations, but they are quick with service and hosting.

It’s an informal, boisterous place. But the food was delicious and well presented.

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you go. And you should!!

This place was amazing! Our waiter was very good and is a natural with customer service. My wife got the fish and fries and LOVED IT. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken and it was so good and fresh. Fresh food all around. Fresh tea. Definitely recommend. A ' must go ' to anyone in or visiting asheville!!

We liked our table inside with windows all around. The fish&chips were great!

Great atmosphere in a historical building. Staff was very efficient and friendly. Food was delivered quickly and was hot. Could not fault any of the dishes. The salmon was AWESOME and my son absolutely loved his burger. We also had the brisket and the chicken Al fredo.

The bullet: Food-A, Service-A, Price-B, Vibe-A. Loved their take on the cuban, would come back just for that but so much more here. Staff was exceptional. Don't skip dessert, the apple cupcake is a carmel masterpiece.

The food here was very good! I got a TOP sandwich which is a Turkey sandwich...it had so much Turkey on it like you pulled it off the Thanksgiving turkey with homemade potato chips. I love that they dont sell coke or Pepsi products..lol..I drank diet rite soda...and it was great..this place is a historical stage coach depot I think...very cool...the waitstaff is fantastic and the service is fast.

Great food. Had the sirloin frites and the wife had a blt. Frys were hand cut and very good. In an old train depot and it creates a cool vibe. Staff was friendly and service was good. Definitely would come back.

Got lunch to go, food was ready pretty quickly. Good portions, well priced. The fish and chips were really good, esp their unique tartar sauce.

Great little pitstop while exploring the downtown area. 5 stars is relative. This isn't Ruth's Chris. But, for what it is, the food was good, the drinks were fairly priced, and the service was attentive. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.

Such a great spot! We visited the first night in town and got there right before the kitchen was closing. No one cared we were coming in last minute. We were seated quickly and Molly was our waitress. She was amazing! Probably some of the best service we've had recently. The food and drink selection was wonderful and fast to get to us. I was happy to visit here and will definitely come back soon!

Just got to town, popped in for a quick bite before checking into the hotel. Great food, simple surroundings. Only managed to grab a pic of the Curried Chicken Salad, but the Cheerwine BBQ wings, Ahi Tuna Tacos & Onion rings were awesome!

So awesome! The service was great, the atmosphere was fun and more importantly the food was really tasty. Super crispy fries and very flavorful burger. Loved the steak tips and humus. Great lighter portion and very delicious.

This place was a bit of a mixed bag. Food was superb but the service in the bar was atrocious. It was almost as if bartender/server was doing his best to see how awful he could be. Congratulations! You were the worst server we've encountered on this 10 day trip! Server was big guy with light reddish hair and beard. Avoid at all cost! Do go there for the food. It was the best food on our trip. We had Fettuccine Carbonara and it was fantastic! Lombardi Meatballs were also excellent!

Staff was amazing and friendly, food was great and the drinks were perfect. Food came out quick and prepared exactly as ordered. We highly recommend and we will be back!
