Crocodile Wine

Great wine shop off of Biltmore in downtown Asheville. Very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman helped my wife and I pick a nice affordable bottle of red wine. We were staying at a nearby hotel and wanted to buy a bottle of wine to take back to our room.

Highly recommend this wine shop to anyone who loves wine and appreciates the personal touch you receive from an independently owned shop.

Incredible selection and the guy working was super helpful in pointing us in the right direction of what to get. He even recommended a few local tasting bars around the area since we weren’t able to do a tasting at crocodile. Beware it was a little hard to find but there’s a sign on the sidewalk that leads you down stairs to the back where you’ll find the space.

A small hideaway downstairs and back a hallway, not visible from the street but a nice selection of wines. The proprietor was helpful but respectful of our space but once we asked for recommendations he leaped into action and directed us to a delicious Chilean red right in our price range. I fully recommend a visit to Crocodile Wine.

I cannot recommend this wine store enough! They always have something unique and delicious! There is a wide selection of wine, along with nonalcoholic craft beverages ranging throughout every budget category. Stop in the next time you are downtown and try not to walk out with a new bottle of something delicious ~ I dare you!

This place is the freaking greatest. John stocks the best selection of delicious, amazing, fascinating, exciting wines. He's kind, and creative in the cases he puts together if you don't know where to start. The only problem with this store is there isn't one where I live. But luckily I go to Asheville often.

The CUTEST wine store! Organized in a bright and airy environment, it feels a lot more welcoming than the traditional dark wine dungeon! They have an array of choices ranging in prices but starting on the affordable for a college student end!

Crocodile Wine is lovely, everyone there has a friendly and knowledgeable presence. I have now tried roughly between 15-30 different wines from here under recommendation of staff and been so happy with the picks! This establishment is a gift to Asheville and everyone that enters. I am a big fan and love having crocodile for all my natty needs.

Incredible selection, great space, and lovely staff. A hidden gem right off the main street in Downtown Asheville, with a great little patio to boot. The folks at Crocodile Wine has been nothing short of exceptional during all of my visits-- they're incredibly knowledgable about their offerings and always have daily rotating tastings available. I used to get stuffy noses and headaches from wine, but I feel nothing but simple joy and pleasure when I drink anything from Crocodile. Their offerings have made me an all-out believer in natural wines. 5/5 stars for this wonderful place, highly recommend a visit.

Crocodile has an excellent selection of natty wines including Pét-Nats, orange wines, and tons of glou glou gems. All are very well priced with lots of selections under $25. Zach helped us out with the wines today. Nice to find wines we like in Asheville.

I am so happy to have this wine shop available to me! Sugar-free wines are nearly impossible to find, and it really makes all the difference the next day. The owner is super helpful and accommodates all of my specificities (and I am a very particular person) with a smile. And there's an under-$20 section, which you can't beat! Thanks so much!

The owner is really nice and has loads of knowledge about natural wines. We had a tasting flight and then he helped us pick a few bottles based on flavours we enjoy. Really cute little place.

Needed a good recommendation for a Valentines-dinner wine pairing and John nailed it! Really appreciate the selection at his shop and even more so the knowledge behind each bottle we've enjoyed!

a very unique experience in the heart of downtown. amazing curation of beverages and a nice change of pace to other spots around the area. the decor is well crafted and very charming. highly recommend taking advantage of the amazing selection and environment.

My favorite place to buy natural wine in Asheville. I often choose a bottle at random, or ask the person working to do so, and have never had one I didn’t love.
