This place is great! Great tasting latte, cold brew and has gluten free and vegan options. The service is amazing as well; Alex and Saeian (tried to spell it the right way) were incredibly welcoming and made my day! Highly recommend :)

Understanding that I am green, love organic / tasty / healthy, and great service - this place checked all my boxes. Organic breakfast and lunch eatery with awesome bowl food and smoothies. Other sandwiches and burgers as well. The place ran like a well oiled machine and they had everything reusable or compostable. Even and place to dump your food only to compost. Love love love and went there 2x

I love this place, and they have a few locations. Their food is always fresh and local. They also have wifi, so this is a great place to get some food and get work or learning done. I'm gluten-free, and they have a large range of gluten sensitive foods. Today, I got their almond flour blueberry pancakes, which I ordered online for pickup. I ate all of it before remembering I should have taken a photo. Oops!

Loved it! So delicious.

A great spot for breakfast or lunch with some wholesome menu options like smoothies and bowls and oatmeal as well as sandwiches and burritos and lunch fare.

I had the Huckleberry bowl which is coconut chia pudding with banana, granola and blueberries. It was SO good. I always worry about the texture of chia pudding but this was slightly sweet and really delicious (not slimy) and their granola was phenomenal. Really good blueberries and a generous portion as well as a whole slices banana. Added some honey and it was heaven.

My iced coconut latte was also good. Their coffee is great flavor.

This downtown location has plenty of indoor seating and is close to some lots and parking garages and street parking if you can find it.

Will def return. Delicious food and friendly staff.

I love a place that does fresh right and so seamlessly. This place came highly recommended, and I wasn't disappointed neither was my wife. Will be back before we leave this beautiful city. Thanks for the amazing food and kindness.

Best Latte we had the our whole Asheville trip, which is saying a lot because we had several. Wasn’t pretty but the best espresso I have ever had. We all bought a bag. The food is very fresh and healthy. I got the Mediterranean Omelette. Would definitely get it again.

After trying to find somewhere to grab some breakfast we ran into this restaurant. It was a great choice! With many fresh, vegan, and healthy options it was hard to decide what to get. Everything was very good and quick too.

Big shoutout to Sarah who took amazing care of us. She’s the reason we returned to this restaurant two more times within two days. They were freshly out of carrot ginger soup, which I had ordered for my baby. There wasn’t anything else on the menu my baby could eat, so Sarah handmade baby food for him by puréeing egg, avocado and spinach. My baby loved it! Thank you so much for feeding my child.
Everyone else in my group, kids and adults alike, had an amazing meal and we loved every bite. All the staff was super friendly. There was a bike accident outside and one of the ladies working there (dark brown, long hair) ran outside to help the cyclist and offered him a seat inside the restaurant. What a wonderful crew, serving wonderful food at this restaurant!

We both got bowls that were INCREDIBLE. I also tried one of their fresh fruit juices. So excited to go back and try more from their menu! Highly recommend for a fresh, healthy, and dietary friendly restaurant in downtown Asheville.

Definitely my kind of food and culture. They encourage sustainability and eating healthy. Lots of vegan choices and tasty healthy choices.

The service was a little salty. The staff needs to work on humility.

Parking is very limited if you can even find any so prepare for a walk.

Decent amount of tables and ok bathrooms.

The food was excellent and I enjoyed every bite.

We visited in December 2022. Due to the cold weather, we decided to warm up. In the area, we stopped by Green Sage which offers healthy, organic, and sustainable food options. We were amazed by the amazing selection of food. We tried the café lattes plus the house salad and a red lentil soup.

We did well for our last meal in a 3-night stay in Asheville here at Green Sage Cafe in downtown, across the street from our hotel and, if you're already downtown it can't possibly be far.

There is PLENTY for vegetarians as well as gluten "sensitive" (as it says on their menu) folks and everything on the menu is highlighted with V or GS so it's easy to spot what you can have if you have one or both of those diets.

I had the basic breakfast sandwich with real cheddar cheese and tempeh bacon. This was hearty and delicious and I couldn't help myself but to add a side of root hash into the mix because, well, potatoes. The people I was dining with were naturally attracted to the root hash on my plate and kept digging in for more tries of it. It was all good.

My life enjoyed the Pura Vida Bowl. The eggs on top were perfectly cooked and had a beautiful color to them.

The coffee was also top-notch. Perfectly strong and served in a real mug just the way I wanted it. (And my wife enjoyed her turmeric latte as well.)

There is a ton more to try for vegetarians and gluten-free folks so this would definitely be on the regular rotation for us if we lived in Asheville. Well done Green Sage!

Green Sage Cafe was an absolute delight! From start to end, this little establishment had me considering moving to Ashville. Upon entering the cafe, you are greeted from customer not wanting to hold up the line to the staff at the counter. There are tons of options for vegans to vegetarian to meat eaters. The pricing is reasonable. If you're eating for 2, it can definitely get costly. There is a 10% service fee. There are signs explaining why. Honestly, I can't remember, but it doesn't bother me much. The service definitely makes up for that. I ordered the Avo Lox with an egg. It was by far the most delicious breakfast sandwich I've had in a while from a restaurant. My partner got the Woodstock and loved it. The cafe itself was cozy, hippy a bit, and comforting. Considering everything downtown is in walking distance. It's in a good location. All in all, if you're near here or can get their delicious meal delivered to you, do it! It's worth every penny.

What a great place! Was visiting our son and a good friend, both of whom are vegetarian, and I'm gluten intolerant. This was the place for us. Fabulous menu, excellent food (the curry chicken wrap on the seasonal menu was amazing.) They have salads, soups, sandwiches, wraps, bowls and more. The atmosphere was casual and funky, a trademark of a lot of Asheville restaurants. I hear the Green Sage has several locations in the greater Asheville area. If you're ever near one, don't hesitate to stop in. You will not be sorry.

Amazing! We came at lunch but ordered breakfast. I got the Appalachian Trail but with over medium eggs instead of scrambled. The other dish was the classic sandwich no bread. Two iced lattes with extra shots and oat milk completed the meal. Quick and delicious!

Wow wow wow. Really good breakfast spot. All of options on the menu sounded good and the ingredients they use are fresh and well thought out. They have more than enough vegetarian options that you can turn into vegan with minimal changes. Loved the breakfast burrito with tempeh bacon. Very flavorful and filling. We also got avocado toast, which had a good ratio of bread to avocado and good seasoning. My wife got the Gimme Kale with tofu scramble and loved it. Would definitely come back when we’re back in Asheville.

This place is amazing! We got the soy-sauge, Van Gogh wrap, and green smoothie and they were all amazing. The soysauge looked like it was going to be dry but had a soft center and was very flavorful. The green smoothie tasted like avocado (which is a good thing). I highly recommend stopping in!

This place is a gem. Outstanding. Best GF wrap anywhere. The apple oatmeal is a winner too. They definitely get it. We will return for sure.
