I wanted to add a review based on my experience. I received excellent. Efficient. Compassionate and pet loving care during my recent visit. It was an emergency visit, but they greeted and treated me and my pup with the utmost kindness and care. I Appreciated the manner in which they review treatment options in a non-judgmental manner. They gave me time frames and kept me up-to-date at every step of the process. I felt that the price was fair, and that the care was excellent. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby

This place is amazing. We took our little baby cat there after an unknown injury occurred to her eye. They were very kind in a stressful situation and took the time to explain everything and answer silly questions. They took care of our baby from her spending the night in their ICU to monitor her to removing her eye. She's now back to her crazy self and I'm so grateful to this place for saving my baby.

We had an emergency with our dog and were so grateful for the wonderful care and compassion we received at MedVet. It was a traumatic experience for us and the first time we had to seek emergency services for our dog. They were so kind and helpful and gave our dog and us the immediate attention we were needing. Dr. Wall and the staff were all just awesome. I would definitely recommend them. Thankfully all turned out well and we were able to take our Harley back home and he is doing great!

Our Cane Corsa was very sick and our regular vets office could not see her and recommended MedVet. They were fantastic. Everybody be seen and talked with was amazing. They did everything they needed to find the problem and help get her on the mend. We are very grateful to this office.

Doctor Sindelar doubles as a Saint. Ashley, please add this certification to your resume. :) We experienced a traumatic, very unexpected passing of our beloved Husky, Lady. Doc (and team) were extremely effective and responsive from an operational perspective. From an emotional standpoint, they were collected as a team - as well as sympathetic and caring towards us and Lady (RIP). Thank you again, team, for your work.

I was in a terrible car accident that killed one of my dogs immediately, and I had to put the other one to eternal slumber at this location around 4 or 5 in the morning. They cared for the animals coming in and out and made the cremation process quick and professional. They gave me a few options, got a paw impression, and got a beautiful urn with a certificate of cremation.

It’s shocking to me that MedVet doesn’t have 5 star reviews. We’ve had to seek
emergency veterinary care here 4 times due to an accident prone Vizsla - once for a rattlesnake bite, twice for toxin ingestion, and once for our dog getting attacked by another dog. Every time it’s been the epitome of excellent care. Staff are kind and respectful, the docs are across the board outstanding. If it wasn’t for MedVet, our dog would be dead - I suspect many of the negative reviews were from down staffing times due to the pandemic. We’ve had exceptional experiences every time.

Sooo very glad I have a MedVet hospital within 20 min. drive of my home. One of my babies needed care on a Sunday - and they were there! The people there were all competent, compassionate and kind. The place was immaculate, and comfortable. I have already recommended them to my friends. Very happy!!

My senior Corgi had been battling cancer for years and on our move-in day to the Asheville area, she suddenly developed rapid breathing and pain. Obviously our usual vet was hours away and I could tell my dog had only minutes left. I called around to multiple emergency vets in the area and MedVet was able to get her in immediately and had a hospice room set up, brought her out on a fluffy bed with blankets and lit candles and let us do things on our time. Dr. Kyra Goldhardt was so clear and compassionate and we are so grateful to have their services in a pinch.

Very kind and compassionate people. Had to bring my dog in early in the morning for an ongoing issue and was assisted quickly and with care. Sidney especially was very kind and warm and definitely helped alleviate the heavy anxiety I felt having to bring a senior dog in for emergency assistance with her upbeat demeanor and knowledge. Luckily she seems to be on the upswing already! Thank you for helping us and getting Sophie back on track to health.

We took Charlie to medvet for an emergency with his gastrointestinal system this month. I was impressed with how thorough they are in explaining your options, and they’re realistic about understanding cost limits. The doctor on call the night we brought him in was great. He talked us through our options and was understanding about our spending limits. Yes, it is incredibly expensive, but both times we’ve left our dog in their care we had peace of mind that he was safe and they would be able to help him heal. The doctors make plenty of time for regular updates by phone calls, and the vet techs seem to be really engaged with their patients. I can’t remember her name, but the nurse that discharged Charlie to us had even taken some cute pictures of him and seemed to really know his little personality. Whoever you are..you were awesome! It feels good to know that your dog is getting loved on during their stay. So yes, it’s expensive and the bill turned my stomach, but my dog came home even healthier than he was before he got sick. We even got some money back from our deposit because they didn’t have to do as much testing as they thought, and he recovered well enough to come home earlier than expected. so I believe they’re honest and responsible with your time and money. And they know how to take care of your pet!

I hope you never have to go to the emergency vet with your pet, because it’s scary and expensive, but if you do, you can trust them here!

Such an amazing team of caring individuals! We were taken straight to the back when we arrived, and our sweet puppy was treated with the utmost care. Thank you MedVet!

Well, it’s the 4th of July and our German Shepherd decided the best way to celebrate was to eat a tennis ball. At midnight. We live about an hour and a half away from MedVet but this was the closest 24 hour animal hospital. They are also recommended by our regular vet at Junaluska Animal Hospital. All I can say is that everybody was fantastic. The vet tech took care of our big girl and the doctor who came and met with us was great! They were short staffed but they did a great job of working us in and we were ready to head home at 2:40am after being at the emergency room for a little over an hour. Everyone we dealt with was very compassionate and professional. For an emergency pet visit, this was as good as it gets. It’s nice to know they are here if we need emergency vet services.

We found our Our sweet fur baby (cat Stanley) almost unresponsive when we got home. We drove him to Medvet. The front desk person immediately called an emergency to someone in the back. The young lady came running out and grabbed him, and took him in the back. After a while and several tests, it was found, he had a viral infection. He needed to be put to sleep. The staff was amazing. We got to hold him and love him one last time. Held him as he fell asleep.... I'm heartbroken. He was only 10 months old. A beautiful baby.

We have a senior dog who had a perforated cornea and was treated successfully by Dr. Lakner (ophthalmologist) a few months ago. When our dog unfortunately had another large eye ulcer, we brought her back to MedVet, even though Dr. Lakner was out of town. The ER doctor was excellent, explaining what was happening and our treatment options. On our way out, our dogs cornea perforated and we had to send her back for another evaluation. The ER doctor explained our new options, asked on what had just happened, and we elected to have her eye removed that day. Her surgery went well and she’s doing fine, adjusting to her new situation. The doctor, vet tech and surgical tech were all so helpful. Excellent care.

On vacation from Florida and found a domestic bunny in our wooden cabin area. Not knowing what to do i called around. They were very informative, caring and helpful, got me in right away as if I've been there 100times. I highly would recommend them to anyone local looking for a wonderful vet. They're also open 24/7.

Excellent prompt emergency care facility. I could not recommend this place more. The staff are absolutely amazing. The care my pet received was above and beyond. I cannot thank them enough. Without them the situation would’ve been much more traumatic.

This place is God sent! They helped me when it was time to put my best friend of 16 years down a week ago. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do besides watch my mother pass. O'malley was my best friend. He watched my children grow up and even saw my grandchildren grow. He was a cat to someone who had neverwt him, but once Iwr him, u would never forget that guy. & The medvet team was absolutely kind and understanding. They helped us. And I will never what they did for us. God will bless those two ladies that comforted me that rainy morning. And a shout-out to Dr. Ashley! She sent me a sympathy card,. hand written. I am so blessed to have had such wonderful people around me that morning! I'll never forget what they did for my O'malley and me.

This staff was the kindest bunch I’ve ever seen

Our kitten chaos got bit in the head by our dog and had a bad skull fracture
We took him in and they were quick and took him back and he stayed there for two days and they tried so hard to get him better

We took him home and he started suffering bad seizures so we took him back and made the hard decision to euthanize him

That staff made sure we knew our options , how the procedures worked , and showed kindness and remorse and gave us so much time with him before we started the euthanasia process

This whole experience was traumatic
But the staff made everything bearable

I honestly can't recommend MedVet enough.

Everyone there is so kind and professional. I had been taking my GSD to different vets/ERs/Specialties for months about extreme eye swelling and abnormalities in the eye. I kept being told it was allergies. I never felt right about it, but after so many different doctors telling me the same thing, I decided I needed to just accept the information. So when I came into MedVet, her eye was so swollen I was almost worried it was going to pop out of her socket. I was expecting a prednisone shot. When I checked in, I was offered for her to be seen either by the ER or the ophthalmologist due to their open schedule. I chose the ophthalmologist. Again, I was expecting to be told she needed a prednisone shot due to allergies. When Dr. Lackner came in, and told me she thought more was going on and that she was suspicious of cancer, I felt my world crashing in on me. She gave options, was informative, answered my questions, and was supportive. We decided to aspirate the cells, which was done that day. Just a couple days later, she personally called me to confirm Maya had Mast Cell Cancer. She provided referrals (and was willing to put them in anywhere i wanted to go), and was easy to communicate with. She went above and beyond by reaching out to the oncologist at the practice I chose (her recommended location) to get the ball rolling for me. We ended up at Fetch in Greenville and saw their oncologist and surgical team. Maya's tumor was totally excised with great margins. And when I went back months later to say thank you, the girl at the front desk even recognized me and asked about Maya. She was the same person that was there the day we originally had come in. She along with Dr. Lackner had kept up with Maya's progress and been reading all the notes. It was so touching to me how much they cared. I am so incredibly thankful to Dr. Lackner. Out of many vets, she was the one that took my concerns seriously. Had it not been for her, I likely wouldn't have gotten the diagnosis, severely increasing the chance that the tumor metastasized. It's thanks to her my girl is as healthy and happy as she's ever been and I think about how grateful I am for that everyday.

They are an incredible team.
