Never needed to call thankfully, but 4.8/5 for the amazing apparatus and hard working crew I've seen throughout my time here.

Station #1 were a life saver for us. My wife and I were in town visiting. While the town is not our taste, the men at this station very helpful. We had a rental car with a flat battery. They got us back on the road with the jump pake they had. Thank you guys so much.

Earlier this year during a storm a large tree fell, completely blocking my street in North Asheville. I called the Asheville Fire Dept. who, even though it wasn't an emergency, were there within an hour and very quickly and efficiently cut up and removed the parts of the tree in the street. They had just come from clearing other fallen trees and were then off to clear more. Very impressive!

Thanks so much to the team that helped us cut off a too--tight ring on Christmas morning!

From my understanding when a first responder from the fire department is being dispatched they should make their way to their call. And the NC law states to move over. Which I was trying to do. Today while on Patton Avenue, I could not “move to the right” because other vehicles were not moving over so I made my way to median so that I could get out of this mans way to respond to the call he then proceeds to stay behind me in his Ford responder truck, lights and sirens on; so instead of holding up traffic i move back into the road trying to find somewhere else I can pull off safely. I am seven months pregnant and I am not going to push into other cars and risk myself and my unborn child’s life when this man could have gotten around my vehicle initially to proceed to his call. Then once I am able to move to the right SAFELY he proceeds to pull up beside me and motion for me to roll my windows down so he can yell at me for not moving right. When I had no option to move right safely, right away. I have lost my respect for the Asheville fire department because this man NEGLECTED to continue on to his call to possibly save someone so he could lecture me in the middle of Patton avenue during lunch hour traffic!

If the Asheville Fire dept is called out you can expect the city will shut down. 4 huge trucks on small streets, no one will direct car traffic or facilitate movement. It’s amateur/cowboy hour and doesn’t seem organized.

Completely rude and unhelpful
