I am skeptical of these places because they can be a tourist trap/cash grab but this was nothing like that. This place was literally one of the best value, bang for your buck aquariums I've ever been too. You can complete it in around an hour or less so don't expect a Georgia aquarium like adventure but it's just big enough and it's well worth the $13 a person you will spend to get in. It's located at fort Fisher and is in a prime location. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Had a wonderful visit with my husband. It was busy as expected for a Saturday but not too crowded. Beautifully kept animals and facility. We look forward to returning in the future.

Lots of bang for your buck! You walk into one of the most interactive Otter exhibits I've seen! I felt super close to the Otters and they were very active and fun to watch (but hard to photograph). At first I was concerned that the first part of the aquarium was it, but then found the door leading to even more! It was such a great, well designed aquarium that felt clean. Lots of animals and things to look at!

Great aquarium for a quick family trip. Kids are older, and they enjoyed coming here. If you have little ones, they'll love it. We went around the whole aquarium in less than an hour. Great place. When you're done. Head on over to Fort Fisher and enjoy the walk!

We visited this aquarium on a rainy day while vacationing near by. As expected, it was a bit crowded, but there was still space and time to see all the sights. The otters were active and adorable as ever. The gift shop has lots of cute things to buy. My favorite was the green eel hiding near the circle window in the large tank.

This was a great visit. We spent most of the time with the very first exhibit, the otters. Mostly because they were being very playful. Kids loved it and it took a little
Over an hour to go through all the exhibits. It’s a great option if you’re visiting Wilmington and want to add in an activity for your heading home day.

I was a little nervous this would be a hokey aquarium but it was not! It was a fun afternoon- my 4 kids under age 10 all enjoyed it! On top of the normal fish exhibits they had a nice outdoor playground and walking trails that led to some bird exhibits. The staff were more than willing to answer alllll my children’s many questions. Great experience!!!

Kids will enjoy here.. don’t miss the hurricane simulator $2 but kids had lot fun there.. keep some 1 cents (some physical coins - big coins will have more momentum) for playing on the some kind of coin roller that’s awesome .. if you have NC zoo pass then it free here, Make sure you book the ticket even though you have MC zoo pass( you will have an option as member $0 inside buy tickets) ..

We had fun at some of the exhibits. It's really a unique place to experience and explore some of the deep sea creatures and native species of north Carolina. We went on a field trip with the school it was a blast.

Had a great day at the aquarium at Fort Fisher. We woke up at the crack of dawn and drove 3 hrs so we could get there when they opened only to find out you have to have a reservation. Thankfully we were able to get tickets for later in the day and only had to wait 3 hours. The aquarium has a lot to see and do especially for the kids. Not the biggest I've been to but worth a visit for sure.

Great exhibits and the aquarium is right next to a wonderful public beach. Cute otters and we were lucky enough to watch feeding at the big tank, highly recommend!

This is a rather small aquarium but if you have littles, it is great! The price is decent and if you can ride the ferry, it is worth the $7 for the experience. Having the historic site and near by beach access make this a great place to go on a pretty day to spend time w your family.

An amazingly engaging Aquarium. The animals are easily visible and accessible to children.
Lots of updating exhibits and new animals on the way.
Well worth the entry cost.

Love the NC Aquarium at Fort Fsher. Definitely a must see when you are in the area. Nice mix of indoor exhibits and pit door spaces. The otters are a personal favorite! During this visit a variety of decorated Christmas trees were on display. Lovely!
