Frye’s Rehab Department especially my Physical Therapist, Nathan Barr, offered me outstanding and exceptional care after my total knee replacement. From the beginning of my rehabilitation journey he showcased not only his expertise but also his remarkable empathy and genuine concern for my well-being. His keen observation skills, upbeat demeanor and professionalism greatly facilitated my recovery process. The entire rehabilitation team shows professionalism and dedication to their patients and it has been an honor to be under their care.

I have had multiple experiences with different departments of Frye. I delivered my son at this hospital and proudly say that the Labor & Delivery wing is OUTSTANDING. I was in the L&D wing for a longer period of time than most due to my condition at the time, and every single nurse & doctor were extremely helpful and kind. Additionally, the ER has been very helpful on other instances as well. When I brought my baby there for a high fever, he was seen within minutes and cared for. That was super important to me as a newer, worried mother. I personally have had a few positive interactions in the ER for myself as well. I appreciate the level of care I received here.

My parents have been patients at Frye on numerous occasions and they have always told me that their experiences here have been positive. My Dad's last stay here was, unfortunately, his last, he had an extensive medical history that finally caught up with him. Dad was brought to the ER by EMS with shortness of breath, he was treated expeditiously and stabilized. The nurses and doctors worked with Dad all through the night to keep him stable. Dad's nurse and Dr. kept us updated with everything that they were doing for Dad, what the next steps would be, and what our options were. In the end, we decided as a family that there was nothing else that could be done and Dad passed. The nurses were so compassionate and attentive to our needs, and they took amazing care of Dad. I am a 21-year veteran of emergency healthcare and I will say that this was the best experience for my Dad and family that I could have asked for. I have to say a big thank you to the ER nursing staff, the ICU Doctor(I can't remember her name), the respiratory staff, and the techs. As I write this I am sitting with my mom at Frye and she has received excellent care in the ER and on the floor.
Strong work Frye staff!

I was very impressed with the cafeteria’s wide variety of choices for lunch. I was also impressed by one food service staff in particular. Her name is Alyssa and she came to my husband’s room to take his meal orders. She was super pleasant and funny but also very professional. A breath of fresh air during a stressful time.

I want to start by saying I thank the Lord for placing DR TARASKA in our path at Frye ER! He took the time to figure out what was going on with our 16 yr old son after for a whole month various doctors said it was viral. Our son was extremely sick! The headache was unbearable with a slight fever. DR TARASKA ran every test he could until he referred him to Levine's Children's Hospital. Within a few hrs, an ambulance was there to transport. That was another angel that I didn't get her name, but I will forever see her face. Anyway, long story short, he had a bacterial infection from wisdom teeth extraction that was from 3 wks prior. Our son had no significant outward signs of infection. No swelling, redness, or anything. His mouth was completely healed up. DR TARASKA suspected this, and he was right! With all the bad reviews this Hospital has, I wanted to brag on one that I know deeply cares for his patients. He almost sent our son home, but his words, " I just don't feel good about sending him home with him looking this bad" We will forever be thankful for this doctor! My husband and I haven't had the greatest experiences with doctors lately, so this was refreshing and gave us hope that good doctors still exist!!

Frye emergency room was very efficient and responsive while my mother was there for her heart issue. The nurses, Dr's and other staff were very helpful and informative. Mom was also admitted on 2 separate occasions this month for heart/defibrillator problems. When we were in the room, the staff was helpful and caring. The food is much better than the old days of horrible hospital food too. I definitely recommend Frye hospital if you have a need or especially attention for any heart related problem. These are the true hero's in my world! Thank you Frye employees. Forever grateful 🙏

I have been going to Frye Medical Medical Center Therapy Services in Hickory NC for over a year for assistance in balance and movement disorders that I have that are associated with my Parkinson's Disease. Several disorders have popped up during this time period and while a small number of them progressed into more signficant difficulties, the majority have improved over time helping me to be more physically active with fewer challenges. The credit for these improvements has a lot to do with my physical therapist at Frye, Stephanie Cozad. Her knowledge, experience and communication skills were instrumental in providing me with a variety of exercises and stretching techniques that have been a very positive experience. Now all I need to do is not get lazy....

The food in the cafeteria was soooooooooo so good. And the service was exceptional. I'll be back. And please give my thanks to the chef!!

Jeff Robinson also would like to say that he, too, gives the cafeteria food a five star rating.

It was a 6 hour wait but worth it when we met our nurse Zelenograd. He made us laugh and try his best to help anyway he could. The Dr. was nice also and explained the problem so we could understand it. Thanks for the great care.

TERRIFIC STAFF! TERRIFIC LABOR AND DELIVERY TEAM! Was recently induced at this hospital and the staff was amazing. Our baby was in the NICU for a short amount of time and everyone communicated every part of the process to us. My nurses on the labor and delivery floor were all amazing and so kind. They spent time with me working on feeding. The lactation consultant even spent extra time with us working on latching and pumping. She reached out after our staff to even ensure we were completely set up for success. I truly believe each person we came in contact with cared for us and our little one!

Jill my delivery nurse was PHENOMENAL & is extremely great at her job! If I was to have another or to recommend anyone I would tell them to request her EVERY single time! All the other staff were great as well, couldn't have asked for a better hospital to have my final baby at! Thank ALL of you ladies for absolutely everything!

I spent 4 days at Frye Regional due to kidney stones. I found the Dr's and all other staff to be most attentive and helpful. Most of my time there, I was quite ill, and everyone seemed to make extra efforts to be sure that I didn't need anything. I deeply appreciate the care that I received.

I was involved in an accident yesterday and brought there by EMS! The ED staff was truly amazing . Antigone, RN Nate Fuller, PA & Michelle, RN were simply amazing! They took excellent care of me, explained everything that was going on & went above & beyond. The entire ER staff alone was just amazing! The labor & delivery team are amazing! They went above and beyond for us. Explained everything in detail without me having to ask. They left zero room for miscommunication amongst themselves. During each shift change the staff would come in the room and introduce themselves and go over everything that has occurred and needed to be done. Definitely recommend this hospital and their birthing center!

The nurses in Labor & Delivery were absolutely amazing. I’m so thankful for a great experience 2 years in a row. They truly cared for me in a way that showed how genuine they are. My room was clean, I was heard & respected during my delivery & truly that’s all I can ask for! Thank you Frye!

This was one of the best ER visits ever! I mean, there was a wait, but it’s the ER, so of course I knew that ahead of time. We didn’t have to wait long, the NP started my daughters IV right away to get blood and to get her to CT! All the nurses were amazing! I hate when I see such bad rating s for ERs because of wait times. Y’all, it’s an ER! But I cannot say how great the staff was! Would 100% recommended this ER, sorry I did not catch names, but to the nurse that used his shark “Bruce” to bite my daughter, thank you! You made her feel very comfortable!

I had 5x CABG in March 2023 performed by Dr Carlton. The 6 hour operation was highly successful and Dr. Carlton's skill and the after care I received in CVICU helped me tremendously in making a quicker than expected recovery. I want to thank and single out CVICU nurses Sarah, Jordan and Shannon for their diligent care and positive/upbeat attitude.
Once released, I started cardiac rehab 2x a week. Lauren and Darlene get my thanks for keeping me on track and encouraging me each session to a speedy recovery.
Overall, Frye Regional Medical Center gets my vote for Best in the U.S.
Thank you all again!💛

All we can say is WOW! We recently delivered at Frye and I cannot even begin to describe the outstanding care from each and every nurse in the L&D department. The presence of peace was so thick in that hospital room stemming from the kindness of each and every person that cared for us. There was not one rude person that entered our hospital room. The nurses made sure our little family felt as comfortable and “homey” as possible. They were all so sweet, caring, and straightforward. We honestly miss everyone there!! No one missed an opportunity to make sure we were comfortable; not one person missed an opportunity to ask if we were “okay” or if we “needed anything”. That means more to my husband and I than anyone will ever know. We had high expectations, but were completely blown away by the level of care provided - the entire experience most definitely exceeded our expectations, and we are forever grateful! I couldn’t imagine ever delivering anywhere else. We left that hospital knowing that we had acquired a little hospital family (from all the bonds that were established). To the hands that helped our baby come into the world, thank you! To the hands that took care of my husband, our baby and I, thank you! God bless!
