Were there for Friday night drumming. About 40 people with drums and a crowd to cheer them on. Few people dancing. Quite a mix of ages. Started at 6pm and was going on when we left at 930pm.
Several good restaurants in the area to choose from. Street parking but did not see anyone get a ticket. No restrooms.

The Friday eve 6pm drumming circle is a gem that attracts all ages. All manner of percussion instruments provided many layers of sound. People join in with free style dancing, hula hooping, juggling. I was inspired to purchase multiple types of second hand percussion instruments for the family. If you are from out of town as we are, you can take the joy home and have plenty of fun. Gather the family and invite everyone to drum along with the Drumming Circle you tube videos people have posted.

The drum circle is truly a unique experience. Such a great sense of community. Lots of wonderful little shops and restaurants to visit closely as well.

Great to see the drumming! Ample places to sit and a pretty clean park! Went on a Friday night around 8pm to see the music!!! Such a lively and jubilant crowd!

I run into people here that I haven't seen in awhile. It's been too cold to sit in the park lately. Maybe we will not have a hot summer like the last one and we can enjoy the park.

We were on our way to lunch and walked by this park. Luckily it was a Friday, so they had the drum circle. You can’t walk past here and not stop and admire the music. We stayed for quite a while just watching, and if you’re lucky, they’ll offer you a percussion instrument to play. Worth the stop!

We traveled from Cincinnati Ohio to experience the drum circle in Ashville, North Carolina. It was everything that we expected plus some! We read reviews about the location being unsafe but we did not experience that. In fact, we experienced the complete opposite! Everyone that we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!

In the middle of uptown Asheville...nice area to explore...the checker/chessboards are really cool... bring your own pieces if you want to play. Enjoy!

This park is located in the heart of downtown Asheville, North Carolina, within walking distance of many hotels. It's a very small park that has chess tables, benches, and water fountains that have faucets that are low to the ground for dogs. The main attraction of this park is the drum circle that happens every Friday evening around 6 pm, where the park comes alive with drums and dancing. I do not mind the homeless population that hangs around the park at all. In fact, I encourage anyone who eats at the restaurants around the park to please donate any leftovers to the homeless as much as possible.

Great little place for having markets every Saturday!! There’s always live music (solo-artists with SO much talent) and a unique variety of vendors selling handmade goods including different kinds of jewelry, prints of amazing artworks, handmade wooden flowers and roses, amazing candles, COFFEE…it’s just so great.

The park is small but the drum circle is great on Friday nights and the chess is brutal during the days.

Pritchard has had its ups and downs, but the city has done a remarkable job cleaning up the park, and making it family friendly again. The infamous drum circle has returned on Friday night's, and if you haven't been, you're definitely missing out!

My partner and I really enjoyed the drum circle and everything around it. It was music and drum beats that brought out the best in diversity, compassion, oneness and most of all, hope for humanity. The vibe was unprecedented. When you see so many different ethnicities, ages and skin tones moving to the beat of the drums….wow we have a chance…
