Good guys that gave me a good deal of a bunch of jazz. Plenty of listening options.

This has been such a great place with great people for me!! I love looking at all their music! My particular interest has been music CDs & they have been so very helpful and forthcoming with a lot of info ! I totally appreciate that they are right here ! Thanks guys!!

Finally got a chance to visit Far Out Records in Hickory, NC.
I have bought several records from them online and wanted to stop and see the store.
I had the opportunity to meet Allen, a super nice guy, and to check out all the cool merchandise.
They had a great selection of used records, movies, t-shirts, and lots of other cool stuff.
I found an Aerosmith record that I have been looking for while browsing through their large selection of Albums.
I have been looking for the first Skynyrd album and missed it by a few hours. Somebody beat me to it!
I encourage everyone to go and check out their store, pick up a few albums, and help support them.

Great hidden gem in downtown Hickory! They have an excellent selection and a very knowledgeable and patient crew. I could spend a week in the shop and still be excited about the next find. Check them out!

Best record store in the surrounding counties!!! I’m from Lenoir and come out here to buy my records. This place has records of good quality and good prices! These guys are so awesome & respect/recognize true music fans!

I’m a new-to-vinyl listener and was happy to find a record store in driving distance to my home. This shop is great! The owners were helpful and friendly and had a good knowledge of what they had on hand. There were so many crates to dig through and that’s exactly what you’ll be doing if you are sifting through their new inventory. They have a good selection of modern and classic music though it certainly leans more toward older records. Genre selection was decent if a bit classic rock heavy. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area or passing through, just make sure to give yourself some time to dig through all of the crates!

It’s good to have a little record shop in Hickory again. I hope the locals support it. The business is just getting started up but they have a decent selection. The owner seems to have a good knowledge of music judging by some of the things I found. Go check it out.

Nestled in this plaza full of shops in Hickory is the coolest lil shop specializing in music,retro video games and collectibles. I was in a jam. The mall didn't "officially" open until 11a.m. and I had showed up at 9a.m. because I had to be at work in Morganton at 11a.m. was specifically coming to get a birthday gift I needed that very day. No luck so I google searched for comic shops in hickory and one place that came up opening soon at ten a.m. was Far Out Records and retro games so I decided to check em out even tho I was in a bit of a rush but not going home empty handed. The two guys running the shop showed up a lil before ten to open up and were very friendly and helpful and after explaining my situation they helped me to find a couple things i thought my friend would like,but I couldn't leave without grabbing a cool Ghostbusters symbol keychain for myself lol. Didn't catch either of their names but ones the owner and if you like retro games or different types of rock music or cool 80's toys go check em out. And I got turned on to a new band to listen to just by hearing them played at this shop. Stressed out morning turned into a wicked cool one thanks to that lil shop. Thanks guys!!!

Great selection of music and very helpful staff

Great guys and awesome selection. Random requests were pointed to immediately. They know their inventory well! They are also really great at posting new inventory on Facebook. Well worth stopping in for a dig!

Really great place. Solid selection choices and the prices are always fair. The guys are always really helpful and super knowledgeable about the records they're selling. I’ll always shop local rather than at a big box store. Thank you Crate Diggers!

I don’t know anything about records but the staff is really friendly and their stickers and shirts are really fun. I’ll be back for that stuff. I thought it was cool that they have cassette tapes as well.

Nice place and a decent selection of various genres. Most of the records are used and need to be cleaned once bought, but we've always been satisfied with our purchases. The guys who run it are nice and fair with pricing. One of our favorite places to go

The owners here are so nice and helpful .They have a large selection of vinyl ranging from 1dollar to 300.00 so if you are a collector or just a person who loves vinyl(like me)this is the place to go .They also have Cds Vhs Cassettes DVDs and Tshirts hats etc .I love this shop !!

Absolutely love this place, just found out about them from my best friend, I have bought 20-30 vinyls from there and try and go once a week, these guys know there stuff and help me pick out gems every time, and give great prices, take my advice and check them out, last time I got everything from 2pac to Ozzy ….
