Pleasant City Wood Fired Grille

This is a great spot in the heart of Shelby. Ice cream and a brewery are nearby along with some shops. Our waiter was a very pleasant person and we enjoyed everything about our stop including the pizza.

In fact, when I asked his opinion between the BBQ chicken and the Margarita pizza he immediately offered to make a half and half and it was perfect. The BBQ sauce used on the pizza was sweet and worked very well. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked awesome and they had a solid beer list which was reasonably priced.

Highly recommend you stop here, put your name in and grab a quality drink at Newgrass while you wait.

Love this spot in Shelby! We had the nachos, which were okay. The pizza was super yummy! The service was also great while we were there.

This restaurant has something for everyone! We had a large group (nine people) show up with no notice, as our primary plan fell through at the very last minute. Pleasant City Wood Fired Grille was very accommodating--we had to wait for a table, which was totally unsurprising, but they had one ready for our whole group within about ten minutes.
The restaurant was quite busy, but our service didn't suffer at all. We had drinks within minutes, and were checked on several times before we were all ready to order. The menu had a lot of options, and I doubted that all of it would be as good as it turned out to be.
We all ordered very different things: some pizzas, some burgers, some pastas, some wings etc. They all came out at the same time, with the cooked items all so fresh they might have just come out of the oven. It was well organized, excellently timed, and perfectly prepared. Every person was totally satisfied with their food, and the variety available did not cause any dish to suffer. I ordered the mac and cheese pizza, and I wouldn't have changed a thing about it.
We don't live in the area, but we were already making plans to return as we left!

Look the atmosphere. Food was great and the service was. Definitely great place to take the family if the kids love pizza.

It was our first time and boy were we glad we went! The pizza was delicious! We will definitely go back! It was a Saturday night and it was really busy. We got right in, though. It is a bar and a really open space so it's very lively!
Put it on your must try list!

We got wings, kids pasta, and two pizzas. One veggie and one chicken bacon ranch. I am picky about my chicken bacon ranch pizzas since I was spoiled by an awesome pizza place in Ohio. This was SO SO good. Even all of my very picky kids said they loved the pizza. The kids also loved the wings. Everything was delicious, we would definitely come again!

I WISH this restaurant was closer to where I live. I enjoyed everything! 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.

We came here during the Fall Festival. The place was busy and the energy was great. Service was also great and we enjoyed the wood fire pizzas. Make sure to try the Steak and Mushroom pizza. That was yummy. Looking forward to going back soon.

I hadn't eaten here in a few years so I thought I'd stop in and try it again. I asked a waitress what she suggested and it was something to do with South Mountain which the local state park to the area. It had a barbecue sauce base instead of a pizza sauce base and it was topped with roasted chicken bacon several times of cheese including a delicious cheddar. It was good, but the barbecue sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. But other than that it was great the crust was really nice and thin and crunchy and the waitress was extremely nice and attentive. Definitely worth giving it a try He would never been here before.

We went in with a party of 10 . We was seated within 15 minutes on a Friday night. Definitely the best pizza. The bartender was so friendly and made amazing drinks. I will definitely be back

Highly recommend the salmon BLT! One of my favorite things to eat in Shelby.

Diner here was great and cost effective. We walked from the bed and breakfast we are staying at to enjoy our meal. Which was great because we were done driving. We had the Greek pizza, a NC porter and caramel cheese cake. Everything was yummy.

Food is always hot and fresh. My go to is the pepperoni pizza and house salad. Don’t think we’ve ever had bad food or service. The bar drinks are pretty good also, depending on who’s working. Definitely a local establishment where everyone knows how good the food is.

Amanda was our server. She was friendly and checked on us multiple times. She shredded aged parmesan over our pizza (I was pleased to see aged parmesan here).

We got a small pepperoni pizza as it is our first time here. The pizza had good flavor and pepperoni was placed evenly. A little droopy but if you like to fold your pizza it's near perfect. Some burned edges but it's to be expected with wood fired pizza, it really has that "New York" woof fire flavor.

Club soda was great here, generous slice of lime and our server was on top of keeping us topped off.

It smells good the minute you walk into this restaurant. A little bit of dust and webs here and there and a bit of debris on the floor but really I can't say it bothered me all that much.

I'll definitely be back to try other menu options. The price was right and the service was prompt and friendly.

Been here for lunches and dinner. Pizzas and pesto bread sticks are really good. Very attentive server. Wednesday had discounts on pizza and $3 beers. We had 10 beers and 3 pizzas for less than $60 before tip. Busy every time I have gone but never a long wait. Busy part of town means parking could be a challenge. Bathrooms clean. Wednesday night very busy

Had one of the best pizzas here!! Treated my friend and we really loved it! It was a great place to just hang out. Everyone was very friendly and the staff was very attentive. The only thing is we were there on a Monday and didn't know about the special. I would have ordered more!

This place is awesome. No matter how long between visits, the great food, friendly staff remain constant.....on point!!
Regardless of what I have ever ordered, the Turkey with Cranberry cream cheese on fiocca bread (Thanksgiving sandwich), ANY pizza, burger, or as I had tonight, the Southern Cuban, it is always fresh, made to order, and delicious. Fries are hot and crispy, bread is fresh, veggies are crisp, and drinks are cold. Just a great spot to have an affordable meal, with a good atmosphere and good time.

This was my favorite meal during my visit to Shelby…I'm still thinking about it days later. The pimento cheese deep with pretzels was scrumptious and the Mac-n-cheese pizza was to die for. I already love wood-fired pizza and Mac n cheese, so to have them together was quite a memorable experience. I would go out of my way to stop in Shelby just for this. The service was also fantastic.

Great first experience at this restaurant. Excellent wood fired pizzas with an infinite amount of toppings to allow you to create your own masterpiece. They also offer their own combinations which we took advantage of and they were delicious! Additionally their salads were a great complement to our pizza dinners!
I will absolutely give them my return business!
