It’s like stepping back in time 80 years to when American was a manufacturing king. Simply amazing.

Also. The car museum is one of the best “hidden” gems in Asheville.

As long as you’re checking out those attractions, you gotta check out the locally produced artisan shop.

This stop should be on your must see list when visiting Asheville.

Wonderful place! So thankful for the owners to allow this place to be free and how well preserve in time the museum is in. They basically left it as it was the place was "working" last month. I hope it stays in the current state for the next generation to enjoy! Please respect the place if you are visiting.

We enjoyed a private tour of Biltmore industries. Incredibly interesting for everyone in my group, and as a spinner and weaver I found the entire tour spell binding. Asheville has a tremendous amount of history and the museum's are free. I strongly recommend that you visit this one.

Great place to learn about the history of textiles and local leaders. Free history tours, Wed-Sat at 1pm, that take you through the old dye house which has lots of old machinery.

Spoke with flute makers. They took the time from working on a flute to talk with us and show us the African wood used to make their instruments.

It's an amazing place to see how cloth was made and dyed and the tour is free.

A lot of beautifully preserved items, representing "homespun" textiles. Not very large. Show yourself around. We never saw a person there, presumably they are lacking volunteers. Free to visit, but donations welcomed. The Homespun museum is next to three other buildings. The antique cars were fantastic condition and you can walk right up to them. Kids loved seeing the handcrank motors and no seatbelts. 😆 There is another building where they did the dye works. Cannot go inside, but can see from an overlook or the windows. It felt like they might do tours of this area during busy times. Last building is art creations for purchase

Single room with items and descriptions of what the weaving business was like at the start of the 1900's.
