Love, love, love this secondhand bookstore! Extremely knowledgeable staff who will give you all the peace and quiet you need to find your perfect read!
Prices are unbeatable and they have special offers that will make it almost impossible to walk out the door without one, two, three or more books.

They have a ton of books you can get for low prices, the whole 2nd floor is just books under $5. Truly a dream for anyone who reads a lot.

Although I cannot attest to how this store is now, almost 30 years ago, this is where my mom would bring me and my sister to roam freely. I developed my love for reading here, as well as an appreciation for pages. We weren’t allowed to watch very much cable during summers; only a weekly trip to the Book Exchange and an open imagination. (The Good Ole Days) I am glad to see that you are still a figure in the community.

Absolutely amazing variety of books that are priced affordable. The staff is very kind and helpful. If you haven't visited this place yet you are missing out.

I went in for my mother since she has mobility issues. Easy to find books in the style and genre you may be interested in reading. Staff there are very friendly and helpful. They provided me with information to take with me on how they operate and complete exchanges. Great option if you still love the feel of books in your hands and like to hold on to the books longer than public library. Nice place to pass along your gently used books to share with others as well. Great place to visit.

Where are the cool kids hanging out! Best place in Hickory, by far. Absolutely the most helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming folks in the whole state so far!

Surprisingly good selection of books. The place is overflowing with books! I found some fine art books that's I'm excited to read. I'll have to come back when I have more time to comb over the whole store.

Almost every book you could possibly imagine is in this quaint but huge bookstore! They carry books from all genres and offer a gigantic variety. The whole upstairs floor has rooms of books all on sale for $5 or less. The main floor offers newer used books and a regular assortment for various prices. It’s absolutely a book lovers dream store.

This is a wonderful store. The lady that checks you out is extremely nice. They have a great selection of books. If you are a reader I recommend highly.

Best used bookstore in Hickory. Good selection and reasonable prices. I always find a couple of books (or more) each time I go😁. Really friendly owners are the cherry on top!

The ladies at the Book Exchange are two of the nicest people I have ever met. The selection of books and authors is outstanding. You can spend the entire day in there. The prices are great. I just bought a $27 hardback book for $2.50. There's ample, easy parking. The store is well laid out and clean. I highly recommend this merchant.

I enjoy going in there all the time. The owner is always pleasant and helpful. I'm reading a series right now and when I get the next book/books she's able to hold back the ones I need. I just wish she was open, because I need the next book in the series. But I understand, how she is worried about her patrons being able to stay healthy.i I will slwAys shop there. So be safe and see you when you're opened again.

This is an amazing store thousands of books i cant wait to go back.took my grandma today and to see her so happy for a book shes hunted for ,for years was great.the 2 ladys today that were working were so very nice i love that they took time to help me instead of brushing off my question. The prices and choices are fabulous. The stairs going up stairs are worth it if ya make it up there youll be glad theres so much up there to see..Thank you for such a great place .I'll be returning in a few weeks to spend a day to pilfer and see what treasures are there.i spotted alot of books on elvis and the beetles so im hooked .thanks agin for an amazing bookstore.Also thank you for the great customer service. Books galore and friendly helpful staff.

I love, love, LOVE this place! I went to the local library on a recent Saturday, to borrow some books. Well, the website said they were open, but their sign on the door said they were closed. So, I had a problem--I HAVE TO HAVE books to read, so I thought of the Book Exchange in Hickory. So, after leaving the (closed) library, I headed straight to the Book Exchange, and it was like coming home after a long absence. I was able to find some great legal thrillers, so I was happy!! They have tons of books, in so many subjects, so I'm sure they'll have anything you're looking for. (But don't get the Grishams, Connellys, and Bernhardts--those are mine :) !!) Another great thing about the Book Exchange is you can get credit for books you don't want anymore. You can take up to 25 books for them to process and give you credit for, but any more than 25, you have to leave them for a few days and go back for your credit slip. Great place to browse and lose yourself in--I'd give it 10 stars!!!!!!!!!!

They have a wide variety of books and a large selection. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are very affordable for used books. The store is very easy to get to and has off road parking.

These LADIES are awesome and they have a nice bookstore. The upstairs has great books for $5 bucks and they're hardbacks.
My wife and I absolutely love this place and strongly recommend this place.
