Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Daily specials are always a treat. Friendly staff, flavorful food. Coffee is some of the best in town. Creamy grits and fluffy omelets never disappoint. I've watched this location morph over 30+ years. This rendition is by far the best. Make Hart & Soul your next stop for a great dining experience.

Very good. All our food was fresh and they do breakfast and lunch all day. The waitress was nice didn’t catch her name though. Great little place in Hickory to eat

If you are ever in Hickory you have to come to this cafe!! The sweetest people and the best food by a mile! Their shrimp and grits for breakfast is to die for!!
Update: went back the next day and had their Special of Crab & Bacon Tacos. OMG! They were also just as great and the service was just as great! I would go earlier in their service time, as we did have a slight wait to get in when we got here on Day 2 about 10:45.

Very friendly place. Got a veggie omelette with rye toast and yellow grits. Everything was excellent! Next time I'm getting the turkey reuben. Really like the old-fashioned down home non corporate Vibe at this place. Ryan. and Heather will toke great care of you!

Open for breakfast or lunch. I like the lunch specials...they have 2 every day. I had the grilled chicken salad with feta and strawberries today..Wait staff is pleasant and prices are reasonable. Watch your step when you enter because there is a short step down. I haven't tried the onion rings but have heard that they're very good.

Was in town for a seminar and came here for breakfast. Loved it! Serves a good variety of your standard breakfast options and then some - daily specials offered some variety like the pumpkin spice french toast. Great prices for the amount you get. Cosy local atmosphere and service was both friendly and on point. Wish this place was closer but will be back again when I'm in town.

Local cafe with great food and service. How can you not love a place where the whole kitchen sings when “Sweet Caroline” comes on the radio? The atmosphere was amazing. My companion got the special, it was the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage bowl, highly recommended. We’ll definitely return.

Not bust at all early on a Sunday morning. Almost traditional Benedict with a special old bay like dusting, and they provided a steak knife without being asked, so I knew that they knew what they were doing. A lot of places just give you a regular, non-serrated knife. My coffee cup was never empty. Will definitely be trying some other items in the future.

This place is absolutely wonderful. The decor, food, and service were top notch, and the presentation of the food as well as its taste are out of the park! My wife and I had the House French Toast, which came with a sweet crust on it, and the Mexi Omelet, a zesty food lover's dream that they fluffed immaculately. The potatoes were perfectly fried and they weren't afraid to season them, which bolstered their deliciousness! I have nothing critical to say of this place at all and we'll definitely be back when we're around the area!

I had the Heart and Soul French toast with eggs and sausage. The French toast had a hint of cinnamon- with berries on top. It was fantastic. I recommend you give it a try. My husband had an omelette which was amazing. The service was great - friendly and fast !

This is by far my FAVORITE PLACE to have breakfast. I LOOOVVVEEE the daily specials and they are soooo good. Hands down the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Between the excellent food and excellent service they will continue to see me many many times. If you are in the area, you have to check them out. I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

Searched for a good breakfast spot before leaving Hickory. Decided on Hart & Soul and was NOT disappointed! Friendly place and relaxed atmosphere! Interesting decor but on point! While we were there four people spoke to us:Greeter/Hostess, Server 1, server 2 and server 3. Food came out quickly, was hot and looked and smelled great! House fav crusty French toast and House fav Mexi-Omelette were two good choices. I’m certain all selections would be good too!

Family of 4, our 1st time there. We all ordered something different. The food was fantastic! We were definitely pleased with our choices. Will definitely go back. The staff was awesome, very friendly and on top of their game.

Heather is a dynamite server...thank you for being so friendly. The food is homemade and very delicious. It is small but worth waiting for a table. Nostalgic decor. Great value.

I've eaten there quite a few times. Staff if southetn-style friendly and food is very good.

A quick review of Hart and Soul, located in the old PO BBQ building near downtown Hickory.

The new owners have opened up the dining area by removing a back wall. More windows up front also help give it a expanded feeling.

Open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday, they had a good selection of items on the menu, they offer daily specials on the chalkboard as you walk in.

Staff was very friendly. Plentiful and occasionally creative menu choices. I went with the blackened shrimp po boy wrap and would have it again. The salad itself would've been enough for a meal. My daughter went with the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, which was more than enough for one.

Worth your time and support for a local business.

I usually get the egg white omelet and is always so good, my boyfriend gets pancakes and they are fresh made. Everyone needs to try this place!

Great atmosphere, super friendly service, AND AMAZING FOOD. I got the Frisco melt and it was easily a 10/10.
