Lovick's Cafe

A historic spot downtown Kinston. Obviously, it's a local favorite.

The folks that work there are super friendly and courteous. They engage in conversation with you.

I sat near the front entrance and as patrons entered, many were greeted by name. Some even got a hug.

Prices here are very reasonable.

A couple of the locals even greeted me as they walked by my table.

I had something very simple. A biscuit with sausage gravy and corned beef hash.

The gravy was creamy and had a nice buttery flavor. The hash wasn't the best I've had but it was decent.

Why I never ate at Lovick’s Cafe over the last 40 years is beyond me. We stopped in on a Thursday morning and had to wait for a table. The outside of the place has been restored and expanded over the years, but the atmosphere still has the original feel too it. The food was hot and fresh and the service was great! I got one of the famous “dough burgers” like my wife’s grandmother used to make for us. It was all a great experience. I recommend you check it out next time you are in Kinston, NC.

Carpe' breakfast! What a hidden gem. If you want a well cooked breakfast make sure you give Lovick's a try. Good little ol' time diner feel, upbeat wait staff, and a great breakfast menu with plenty of options for everyone. Couldn't have been more pleased and we'll definitely be stopping in again.

Stopped for breakfast on the recommendation of the hotel I was staying at. Sat down and greeted immediately. The gentleman I sat next to was a retired 1st Sgt and being a retired MSgt we took up a conversation. Turns out he is the owners dad and he introduced me to his daughter. Again super friendly and told me all about the history of the place. Great food, great people!! Looking forward to my next trip to Kinston.

Awesome brunch and breakfast! Breakfast is served until 1:30pm.

The hot cake pancakes were a huge hit with my kids and the waitress even tried to make a smiley face with the whip cream.

The sausage links were delicious too!

For parking there is a little entrance after the seafood restaurant's parking lot that leads to the Lovick's parking lot

Had chocolate chip hot cakes and home fries and it reminded me of my childhood back up north in Indiana on the farm. It was delicious!!! Staff was really sweet too! I live over an hour away and we will definitely be making a trip back in. Keep up the great work!!

We dined for brunch. Our family enjoyed a meat lovers omelet, pancakes w/ apples, chocolate chip pancakes and the Warehouse special (eggs, bacon, link sausage, home fries, biscuit and French toast). We also added a side of sausage patties and 🥓. The food was simply delicious. Our waitress was excellent. A++ experience during a very busy mid-morning Friday brunch period.

Iconic cafe across from mother earth brewery in Kinston. Home of the famous dough boy burger. A must stop for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is served normally until 1:30.

I ventured into this gem of a restaurant this morning for the first time, and was so glad I did!! Our waitress was sweet and pleasant. My one yr old grandson, and he mom was with me. We started out with pancakes served with fried apples. The pancake was so delicious. It had a pumpkin, allspice flavor and this golden butter that was poured on top of the pancake. It didn't even need syrup. I got the pancakes with pecans on top. However, once I started eating it, I realized there were pecans in the batter too. Absolutely delicious. The eggs, grits, and potatoes were also cooked to perfection. I said to my friend, I don't know who is cooking back there, but it was definitely done with love. She said, they got someone's Grandma back there cooking!! I highly recommend a trip to Lovicks in Kinston, NC! I can't wait to go back and try their lunch!! I hope the pictures help tell the story! We really enjoyed our visit here. You pretty much seat yourself or wait along the outer wall for a table to become available. The waiter and waitresses were very kind. I enjoyed the historic pictures that adorned the walls. Pictures that showed Kinston of days past. I look forward to dining here again!

Great local spot. Was in town for work and had an amazing breakfast. Excellent and fast service. Good parking on the side and rear of building.

Best breakfast in town. Great biscuits and gravy, home fries were OK. Pancakes were perfect. Very busy all weekend but worth it!

The food is delicious. The restaurant is always crowded. I love to eat the homemade meals.

Was recommended by a local friend of mine. Great breakfast place! They give you plenty to eat for a very reasonable price. Old town feel very friendly people and staff.
