Beautiful, warm, inviting, great for a small wedding or like us a family reunion! The grounds were just awesome but the cozy interior was great! One large room seats 20/25 and then several other conference/dining rooms. It was nice to be able to wonder and the back deck was stunning. Beautiful entry too sorry no photo.

We (The Citywide Native Plant Swap Group) hosted our 4th annual swap here at the Horine Conference Center, and it was amazing! The space was perfect for our mission to increase local biodiversity with native plants, meet likeminded folks in the area, share seeds and advice and stories, and to have a welcoming place to gather. The view was spectacular, and the variety of rooms allowed us to separate plants very easily by bloom time and type. I love Jefferson Memorial Forest in general, especially Scott's Gap trail - but this experience really tops them all! Thanks for hosting us!

Best hiking around - Scott's Gap is my favorite and a great workout. This time we did Mitchell Lake Loop. Also a great workout!

I love this place it is absolutely beautiful. Now if your going on a hike good luck back up lol. Now we took a small hike one day and ran into a cemetery which was so cool to Google about the names of the people I found. I recommend going here and exploring

Beautiful scenic views with lots of trail options. My husband and I attended the Lovin' the hills trail race here which took us all throughout the park area. The conference center was great! Easily accommodates a large group for any venue with multiple restrooms, kitchen, dining hall and outside patio. I am looking forward to getting to come back next year.

I went there for the Forest Fest music festival. This was my second year and I highly recommend this event. A beautiful setting under mature trees with activities for the kids. Many people bring their dogs. Food trucks are there but you can also bring a cooler. Parking is 15 dollars but it is well worth it for a lovely day of Bluegrass and similar music from local and bands from around the country in a beautiful setting.

What a gorgeous, peaceful treasure this Horine Conference Center is. It's actually an old house which has been maintained really well. The views though!! This is way up on Holsclaw Hill, so if you start a hike from up there, just remember you have to come back up too LOL... Can be fairly steep. We had our Kentucky native plants citywide seed swap there on November 25, 2023 and it was PERFECT. Samantha Satterly was our contact person and she is a wonderful soul. We love her.

Very clean trails. Nice to be able to walk them after a hectic day of work. Cooper likes them also.

I have not used the conference center officially but use it unofficially once or twice a week. We walk our dog around the hiking paths nearby. During our walks, we stop at the conference center (when not in use) and sit on the benches overlooking a beautiful view of Louisville from high on the mountain. The front yard is a beautiful and a great place to dog walk or sit picnic style and take in the view.

Beautiful place just south of Louisville proper. You wouldn't expect this oasis near a big city. Over 6,000 acres of hiking trails, small lakes, and camping spots. A true hidden gem! Dogs are allowed on leash and horses are allowed in some areas. The people at the welcome center are friendly and put you on the right hiking trail for your skillset. Highly recommended!

The Jefferson Memorial Forest is a wonderful treasure tucked away in Louisville. I always forget how expansive the hiking options are and how welcoming the forest is.

Hiked the full length of the Red Trail at the Horine trailhead. Elevation changes are rough, and the trail gets narrow at places, but it was a beautiful experience. Five minutes in and it's like you're in another world.

Reminder: this is not the Red Trail.

This is not the Red Trail.

The area is at rest.

Do not disturb the area.

This is not the Red Trail.

A+, will return once I can handle the elevation changes a little better!

Wonderful trails have only gone to the hill side lake view trail which took us an hour with a few breaks by the lake that has a picnic table. Variety of mushrooms to see

Great hidden gem. I didn't realize this was so close to where I live. Great trails. I recommend stopping by the welcome center before going on a hike.

There are some restrooms in a few other locations, but the ones not at the welcome center are outhouses with no toilet paper. I'd bring wet wipes just in case you need to use those.

I feel like I've already reviewed Jefferson Memorial before. It's 40-50 miles of difficult running trail. So it's awesome, okay?
