Allen Cafe

Spontaneous stop this afternoon while out-and-about. We had coffee and split a piece of apple pie. It was so good we plan to return for breakfast. Our waitress was exceptional. The menu and pie with ice cream were great. The coffee was average at best but acceptable. Our visit time of day was approaching closing time but there were lots of patrons for the time of day. In the future I plan to post additional photos of the menu and report on breakfast orders after we return.

Best... Breakfast... EVER! I ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and a single pancake and it was glorious. The steak was salty and crunchy, the gravy was super savory with the perfect amount of pepper, the hash browns were exactly how you'd expect them and the pancake was super fluffy, perfectly sweet, and probably the best pancake I've ever had. I asked the waitress Rachel to "surprise me" with the pancake and they put strawberries, whipped cream and powdered sugar, she was very sweet and tended to our needs. The prices are SUPER affordable, $39 for three people, it blew my mind. This place is 100% worth it, trust me, it's perfect.

Wonderful little mom and pop café. The fried zucchini was good, And when the description for the BLT said "piled high with bacon", they mean it. Good value for the price.

If you want an old time diner and good food that goes with it. This is the place. Breakfast served all day. Has the Hashstack and it was great. Someone else had the pork chops special and they said they were great too!

This was our first time to come here. We will be coming back. Just a great hometown Diner we're they know there customers and the customers love coming here. The wait staff are just so caring and the food was delicious. Thanks for keeping this place like the ones I went to as a kid.❤❤❤❤❤

Great food and service in a classic breakfast cafe atmosphere. You can't go wrong eating here!

To be able to have a meal at a cafe that reminds me of home and that has such great memories was a complete delight. I had the chicken fried chicken with eggs and a salad. I was treated to lunch by a coworker who loves to eat there with his wife. And yes the food is great! Their service is top notch highly respectful and attentive to all their customers. Thank you everyone at Allen Cafe!

It’s hot that old family diner quality to it. Hash browns were some of the best I’ve had. Sausage, bacon, eggs, and French toast were all superb!

Friendly staff and the owner was there helping and talked with us. I had the Farmers Skillet with toast and my friend had the hash brown omelette, eggs with toast; everything tasted great.
Waitress stopped by regularly to see if we needed another refill on coffee although the place was packed. Kudo for that!
We went on Sunday at 10:30am and only waited a few minutes to be seated. By the time we left there were people waiting outside..

What can I say about Allen Cafe that hasn’t been said? It is great American breakfast spot, family friendly, local favorite. There is a wait on the weekend but it is worth it and the prices are affordable.

Allen Cafe is the SPOT!! Go here if you are looking for some Southern style home cooked meals. They make stuff here like grandma’s kitchen lol.

Easily my favorite place to eat in Allen. The breakfast food is always amazing. The pancakes are nice and fluffy, so good you could eat them dry and still enjoy them, not to mention the whipped butter is 10/10. I wish I didn't have to settle and give them five stars because they deserve another five. Overall 10/10!!

I think this is a great local spot for good old fashioned breakfast. I love how friendly and attentive the staff are. I also love how quickly the food is made and brought out so that I can have a 30min breakfast before work.

My second time to be in Allen for a high school wrestling event. Love this cafe. Food is great! Will be back.

This is a nice little local café. The entire staff was very nice and seemed to actually care that I was there. The food was reasonably priced and prepared very well. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very welcoming and family friendly. I believe wholeheartedly in supporting small business and places like this make it easy to do so. Good job guys!

Standalone restaurant with ample parking. Restaurant is older but clean and in good repair. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and in very ample portions. Absolutely no complaints. Recommend.

Excellent service, delicious food with hefty portions. If you leave hungry it's your own fault 😆. Just a great place.

This is the quintessential, everyone is your friend, old-school, “Southern” diner. So glad it’s here in Allen. I can’t recommend enough!

One of my favorite breakfast places! Its below Maple Leaf Diner, but its similar to Poor Richards! Good value and taste and I think you get a lot for the money
