Soma Johari, M.D. Baylor Family Medical Center at Murphy

My family has been attended by the physicians in this practice we're almost 20 years. I trust the doctors, physician's assistants, and nurses completely. My PCP is Dr. Soma Johari and I have always found her to be thorough, professional, and straightforward. She also has a very reassuring manner and a fun sense of humor. The staff are friendly and professional and I'd give them six stars if I could.

Dr. Johari is extremely professional and personable. She attends to my entire family, always makes each of us feel comfortable, and spends time asking questions and reviewing our charts. The practice has walk-in hours once you are a patient that are also helpful. Highly recommend!

I have been very pleased with the level of care that I have received from Dr. Johari. She is patient, listens to my concerns and hasn't ever made me feel rushed. The office staff is pleasant and the location is close to home. I would definitely recommend her to others.

Dr. Johari is a very personable and intelligent doctor. She has spent as much time as is necessary with me whenever I have been to see her. She has been my PCP for close to 5 years, and I plan to stay with her because she is a fantastic doctor.

My first appointment with Dr. J. was thorough. I liked her direct and efficient manner and she intuitively honed in on my injury. I highly recommend her.

At this point, I believe I have been going to Dr. Johari for about 4 yrs. I can't think of any bad experiences, but I have thought of a lot of good experiences. After a Motorcycle wreck and a really bad experience at Los Colinas medical center, I went in to see Dr. Johari. The first thing she did was discuss pain meds, because what the other place gave me was nothing and I was in a lot of pain. I appreciated her attention to my comfort needs. Also, she has been patient with me and takes the time to explain things when I have questions. They are in and out of there as others have pointed out, but I don't mind. That efficiency and hustle means I wait less time to be seen when I arrive. However, they have never, in my opinion, sacrificed care for speed. The staff is efficient, speedy, and thorough. Dr. Johari is pleasant, polite, patient, efficient, explanatory, and seemingly knowledgeable. I have never waited long, my appointments are always quick, and I have always received the care I needed.

I have stopped going to this office because I am constantly over charged. I pay my co-pay of $30.00 and a few days later they charge me $30.00 again. I have gone back and forth with insurance and their billing. The billing department basically comes up with excuses, and then just says go ahead and pay it. I don't, and usually the charges go away. Now, they have started sending to collections. One, for an additional $30.00 co-pay, and another $54.00, for a physical which did not even require a co-pay, because it was a 100% covered. I liked Dr. Johari, but I had been fighting the constant overcharges for more than 2 years, and now they are using collections to extort money from me.**

Disrespectful of patient's time and schedule. She was extremely late - almost 30 minutes late - and rushed my service. The routine check up was bare bones at best. She is nice, but the lack of consideration of time or patient care is extremely disappointing.

Just dropped this Dr. because of the WORST office staff EVER! Dr. Johari is a good doctor, but she has the absolutely WORSE office staff I have seen in my 50+ years. Set an appointment for a Dr. visit and a possible x-ray from an injury that "might" be work related. This was something for the doctor to determine as there were several variables. Once the nurse heard the word "JOB", she cancelled my appointment. I never got to finish why it might be job related or might not be, as I was at work with my boss in front of me. Called the next day (as they close before I get off work) and was told the nurse was with a patient and she would call back. I stated, I wanted to reinstate my appointment this afternoon and that it was cancelled wrongly. 3 1/2 hours past with no return call. I called back and cancelled a future appointment for a checkup that was over 2 months away (soonest possible date). Less than 5 minutes later, a manager called me to ask why I was cancelling my appointment. That confirmed my opinion that this office is more worried about counting their $$ than helping patients. Over 3 1/2 hours and still counting for a patients health concerns vs. under 5 minutes after cancelling an appointment. My wife left years ago for the same problems. The manager stated that we don't call patients back until the end of the day and that was policy. My wife found that they just don't call patients back unless it was over billing. No wonder so many are demanding free health care. They must all have visited this clinic! All kidding aside, in my opinion, their action proved to me that patients are here to serve the clinic, not the other way around. $$ over patients = Goodbye!
Hope all that bean counting over caring for your patients serve you well. I won't be one of them.

I had the worse experience with Johari. I refuse to even address her as a Dr because in my opinion a doctor must care for their patients like family, which Johari doesn’t exhibit. She, her nurses, the front staff and the office manager are extremely rude and don’t believe in giving patients the time, respect, and care they deserve. She made me wait for 65mins and then told me she would only treat one of the two issues I was experiencing. This is even more frustrating because I had called Johari’s office the day before my visit and confirmed my appointment and the reasons for my visit, so to tell me she will only address a single issue is frustrating. I’ve never had a BSW or any other dr tell me they won’t address more than one issue. Goes to show Johari values her time but not your time and doesn’t care about her patients. She made a poor first impression. Needless to say, I will never be seeing her or any other providers at BSW Murphy! I regret coming here and wasting my precious time. I do not recommend Johari and BSW Murphy if you are looking for a caring provider. But if you’re looking for poor treatment, then she’s your best choice!

This doctor doesn't listen to your concerns and is extremely sarcastic. Perhaps I wasn't her favorite...however, you should always remain professional. She rushes in and out... leaving you with multiple questions. When you call to speak with a nurse...you are calling a call center and someone may or may not get back with you. I'm changing doctors ASAP!

If I could give them negative I would have... They wouldn't let me go in when I needed to see them, because of COVID and now that I'm out of my inhaler and NEED one they want me to go in. They say you need a physical, and when you go in they say they can't do a physical because you're having other issues. Whatever makes them charge the money money. The hell with your health!

Worse doctor and associates. If a doctor and her staff cannot take care of the patients then why do we need them ?

not spend enough time for patient. Rushing in and out, leave no time for me to ask question. Never coming back again.

Horrible dr and staff. Bad first impression. Will never be going in again.
