MarMo Cafe & Lounge

Nice little lounge and bar. There's a lot of locals that come here and know each other. The bartender(owner) and his wife(cook) were very friendly and gave us suggestions for dinner and things to do. We ended up going to Katie's for dinner, which turned out amazing. This is a great lounge spot if you want to hang out and have a cocktail or drink if you're in Galveston. We also had the flat bread, which was very good. Thanks for the suggestions and the great vibes.

Great little bar. Same owner as that of Jimmy’s on the pier. Great establishments. Great knowledgeable bar tender, Jamie. Amazing drinks. Great bar food. Pork shoulder BLT was amazing!!

Awesome spot to start or end the evening. Some of the best cocktails on the island paired up with some amazing food.

Live music on the weekends, delicious coffee in the mornings and amazing food all day.

The sandwiches are amazing and perfect for lunch. They are huge and definitely good for 2 meals! The smoked pork shoulder is out of this world good. The Aus Jus sauce they serve is mind blowing good.

Run don't walk to Marmo. The staff and owners are all awesome and make you feel very welcome. Top 3 spot on the island for food and drinks!

Great experience. A great Old Fashioned and the Old Cuban is great in a different way. The Happy Hour is a great deal with college town-like prices but way better cocktails. The Roasted Chicken Sandwich and Mac and Cheese were great too!

We enjoyed this new spot last weekend , so we returned daily! The best espresso martini I've had on the island! Love the patio outside & the vibe. Inside is small but cute. Staff is friendly. Their lattes are one of the best we've had on the island! They make their syrups in-house so they are not overly sweet! They have live music on the weekends, which is great. We will definitely return to try the food. It smelled delicious!

12/31/22: Update. We finally returned to try their food here. My hubs & I split their short rib sliders, which were amazing! Tender and flavorful! Just wish we wouldn't have split because we wanted more! Still the best espresso martini! Definitely recommend lunch or date night!

3/31/23: Update #2. Hubs & I went back for lunch today (finally)! OMG!! I had their pork shoulder BLT on keto bread and added avocado. Best BLT of my life! The flavor of their pork shoulder was out of this world! It was smokey and tender and melt in your mouth good. If you still haven't been to this place you are missing out!

Old Fashioned's. Great drink and a very low key atmosphere. I would definitely recommend visiting when in The Strand area of Galveston.

Got the grill cheese. Excellent! Added some (okay, a lot) some salt & pepper. For my taste. Beer selection is limited but it is cold. Had lovestreet and 512 Kolsh. Little pricey but that is norm after Covid.

Our favorite place crafty cocktails and great food, my favorite food is french onion dip sandwich. The service is great as well!

The cocktails were to the point, especially during the happy hour. The bartenders were nice and friendly. Nice patio. It is to become our spot during our weekend Galveston visits

Cool hip spot serving MONTUCKY COLD SNACKS! as well as craft cocktails patrons were drooling over- unrelated...I didn't eat anything..not sure they had food but there was a firepit out front- always extra cool points for fire

Did not try the food, but just because of the time of day. It looks good. Drinks are jam! Cocktail specials at happy hour. Try them all. This is a cool little pub inside, with a huge patio outside. Walk a little bit to avoid the paid street parking. Forgot to ask about the garage, but it may be free for patrons.???

We were visiting Galveston and wanted to go out, and MarMo was open late! They played Taylor Swift which automatically makes this 5 stars. No champagne problems here! They had an interesting cocktail list, but I had to try their Old Fashioned (my go to) and it was great, and strong like my husband. I saw they served Borsch and I have never seen borsch in a restaurant in America and had to try it. I am Ukrainian and it tasted just like my grandmother’s. It really brought me back to times with my family.

Good service and cozy space. I will visit here often. The sandwiches are plentiful and the coffee smell is the best!!

Very nice venue. Went to see Taylor Lauren an amazing local vocalist play piano on the patio. Open air entertainment was spot on. Food was delicious. My only gripe was the lack of selection regarding beer. Miller high life in a can? Doesn't fit the larger theme. Overall I definitely recommend you stop by here and check it out. **UPDATED** I went back - two more times. I met the owner larik. He is an amazing epicurian minded individual. I even took back 5 additional friends. Larik took time to explain food and cocktail pairings and explained his concept is not a bar - there are lots of bars that serve beer in downtown Galveston and he is exactly right. You will not find another venue locally with an owner willing to explain the why of a pairing. There is thought a care in every detail. Bravo and best of luck in this new venture - see you soon!

Ok. Hands down THE BEST cocktail in Galveston. Others take note of what a hand-crafted adult beverage should taste like... and it's not sugar! ;-)
