We were looking for an in store only release of the Anvil Cat album for our daughter on Black Friday. They had sold out but Jimmy was very helpful and looked up several other stores in the area that might have it and helped us find it. He went out of his way to make sure we found the album even if he didn’t make any money from it. Thanks Jimmy for helping us get a great gift for our daughter!

This record shop is a really good find. There is a broad selection of classic music spanning the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, 50s and probably earlier. Most of the vinyls and 8 tracks are originals. If the music were categorized and organized by a naming system or the like, that’d be great. I will definitely be back.

Had a question about vinyl cleaning and was helped with a really thorough and detailed answer including advice to check out a local audiophile Facebook group for continued learning. Thanks so much for taking time to educate!

This is the best place in Birmingham to buy new and used vinyl. The staff can hold a conversation on just about any and all artists out there. I love this place.

I adore this little local shop! The owner is one of the nicest most interesting people you could meet. The prices are amazing! He has so much good inventory I could spend HOURS in there. Best part…. $1 comics😭❣❣❣

This is my favorite record store. I know that seasick records is much more organized and social media friendly— but I kind of love the chaos & the smell and the love & the hunt.

Now THIS is a record store. Not after the gram shot or even the title of a clear walkway. This record store will have you hunting for that favourite vinyl of yours for hours. Be prepared for loads of boxes of vinyl, dvds, cds, even cassettes. Staff are wonderful, very knowledgeable and friendly. Come and be amazed and buy an album or two. Thanks for a great visit!

Awesome record store. There is a lot of vinyl packed into this small store, but walking inside it's door is like stepping back into a simpler day and time. Outside of newly pressed vinyl, or rarities, you can walk out with a classic album for $6. Huge selection and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

THIS PLACE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Friendly staff, HUGE selection and it smells like a record store (a very good thing IMO). The place looks disorganized but it’s really not. The owners know where everything is and their happy to help. This place is incredibly fair priced. They have $6 records that may not be the prettiest album cover but the record plays perfectly. I can’t imagine a better place with better folks!

Staff is always great, very friendly and helpful. Wide collection of CDs, DVDs, Vinyl, cassettes and even 8 tracks! I'm able to find things for my little brother as well as my grandmother, they have a ton of cool stuff from and for any generation!

Had some great selections in older LPs and CD at great prices. Limited access because of size and space inside. Appointment required to shop there. Mask must be worn at all time only limited number of people may be in store.

These are the NICEST people I have ever met in my entire life. If they don't have a record you want, they'll get it for you ASAP! They are always open to music suggestions as well as giving them. I could talk with Mrs. Shirley and Mr. Gary for hours! There are so many great places to buy records in Birmingham, but we choose to only buy from Renaissance because we have been treated like old friends from the first time we walked through the door.

One of Birmingham's best hidden treasures. Much, much better than Charlemagne. The nicest staff out of all the record stores in Alabama plus great prices- they'll help you find exactly what you're looking for..something you dont get much these days, wonderful customer service. Hands down the best record store in Alabama.
