Gatos and Beans

What a great place!!! My daughter and I stopped by for an impromptu coffee. The coffee was definitely great but the cats made our trip! There is a small charge to enter the kitty room but it was so worth it. All cats are up for adoption and they were so friendly. We are going to start making our Gatos and Beans scheduled trips so that we can visit our new friends!

I’ve been a few times now, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The shop itself is very colorful and cute. The cats are wonderful and their room is clean and neat. I haven’t had the *best* coffee there but it is still worth getting the drink that comes included with the reservation. Wonderful experience, especially for those who love cats.

Everyone here was super kind and friendly! The entire space is very clean and well-taken care of, including the cat room. The kitties are spoiled rotten and so sweet! The coffee was great too! Such a fun experience, I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Gatos and Beans is an awesome facility in Avondale that partners with a rescue to house and adopt out cats. The cats were all really sweet, calm and friendly. The coffee was nice and I just really enjoy the concept. The employees and patrons were all very friendly.
When you adopt a cat they are spayed/neutered and microchipped for a really affordable fee. I love the cat play areas and all the toys provided. The cats are well cared for in a serene setting.
I recommend making a reservation which is very simple online.

I got to sit down and talk with the owner. She radiates kindhearted energy. These kitties are all hand picked from Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue to be placed in this wonderful café! $10 for a coffee and an hour with the kitties! You get to spend time and fall in love with a friend before deciding if you'd like to adopt them and take them home!

Adorable quirky coffee shop featuring cats! That you can pet! They have a cat room you can spend an hour in (for a small fee) for quality cat-petting time while you enjoy your coffee. Totally win/win.

I had a great time at this cat cafe. I love the concept, and all the kittens were friendly and affectionate. The staff is very accommodating and I would definitely visit again.

First time here and it was sooo cute!! You can tell the people that run Gatos and Beans care about these babies. Go and visit these babies and adopt them!

You need to schedule time with the cats. They also serve coffee and soda.

This place is a movie. My boyfriend and I have been to multiple cat cafes all over the place and this is by far the best one!!!!! You get a free drink (coffee, tea, soda or water) with your price of admission which is awesome. Everything was very sanitary, the cats were friendly and the space was enjoyable and well lit !!

I absolutely love this place! The cats are all so sweet and adorable. If I didn’t have 4 dogs I would adopt a cat ! Highly Recommend visiting this place !

Great service, the guy who was working the counter was super nice. The cats are very cute and many of them are pretty social. Make sure you book a reservation!!! My girlfriend and I didn’t realize how busy this place is and only got to go in the cat room because someone else cancelled while we were there, but even if you don’t get to go in, the coffee is great and you can sit on a couch and watch the cats from the waiting room.

Very LGBT-friendly atmosphere and they have pride decorations everywhere, which is very needed in a state like Alabama.

Perfect place to play and observe many adorable kittens and cats. I love the concept of it, because it is so helpful if you're looking into adopting.

Took my daughter here for her 16th birthday and she loved it! All the cars were so friendly and playful. The owner was very friendly and informative. We will definitely be visiting again!

The people here who are leaving negative reviews because they weren’t able to see the cats because they didn’t have a reservation and the room was at capacity are dumb. Their website CLEARLY states reservations are recommended. They have a capacity limit for a reason. It is in place to make sure that everyone who enters the room will be able to see and pet a cat and to not overwhelm the cats in the room.

The complaints that the cats were sleeping. THEY’RE CATS. They sleep almost all day!

And a complaint about the cat room having high shelves to climb and sleep on. Anyone who knows anything about cats knows that cats love to climb and be up high. These cats LIVE here. They are not there solely for your entertainment. The owners are making sure to give these cats the best enclosure possible for their health, happiness, safety, etc. The cats come first here, and that’s how it should be.

Onto the positives- I love this place. The owners are so kind and welcoming. They will answer any question you have about the cats. They know their backstory and truly care for these cats. It is also nice to support a place that believes that everyone should have equal human rights. I hope this place is around for many many years.

Absolutely beautiful me and my friend stopped here after the mall and it was so amazing🥺. The cats are super friendly and playful! The service here was so welcoming and just great overall. The hot chocolate was so delicious too! Not expensive at all!🙈 I will definitely be coming back this week.

The cats are all very healthy and friendly. The interior is everything a growing cat could dream of. The coffee was fantastic.

SO I love cats. I can't have them where i live, so i came here! I've been once before, kinda afternoonish, and the cats were all sleepy and tired. This time, I reserved the earliest time slot on a weekday, and almost all of the cats were excited and playful!! I wish I could adopt all of them!! The coffee on the other hand isn't the best, I'd take it down half a star just for that reason. I mean, it is a cafe. My drinks both times were about 1/4 coffee and 3/4 milk. SO I suggest getting a soda or tea here. OVERALL I will definitely keep coming back for the cats!

I have drove by this place so many times, but never went in.
I’m so glad I decided to come in, the kitties there are so sweet and it’s amazing being able to see all their different personalities. And the staff is super accommodating, and easy going.
I will definitely be back one day when I’m able to adopt. ♥
