Residence Inn by Marriott Birmingham Downtown at UAB

On Saturday the 13th of January the young man by the name of Jerome was very great ask me to download the app to earn points and promotions there should be workers like him keeps the great work Mr.Jerome

I am a patient at UAB and they got this hotel for me to stay in while I was taking my treatments.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable, the bed are comfortable with extra covers the air conditioner is excellent.
The staff was very nice and Curtis, if I went down to the lobby for anything ,they always asked me if I needed anything.
I never got to stay and eat the food, but the coffee and juice are good 👍
The parking is a bit of a hassle, too small for the hotel.
I was very happy with my stay at the residence inn and will continue to stay with them as long as I continue with my treatments

This is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at thanks to the extremely hospitable staff. Every single hotel representative we encountered was so kind and went out of their way to be helpful. I want to give a very special shout out to Mark in maintenance and DK the breakfast attendant, they came with smiles and it was clear they really cared about our experience. The Managment must be really good here bc idk how else you get so many incredible ppl. Thanks to everyone there, we would def stay here again.

We were passing through on our way to Florida for vacation and spent the night here to rest. We woke up in the AM to continue our journey to Florida. Once we got to Florida my wife realized she left her makeup bag and other things at the hotel back in Birmingham. She was very upset.

I called the hotel and lucky for me Ms. Keke answered the phone there. I explained our situation to her and she fully understood what the bag & belongings meant to us. She explained that we needed to follow their instructions for shipping and she would ensure that the package got delivered back to our home. She advised if I needed to I could follow up with her to make sure it was delivered. Needless to say our package made it back to us on the same day we returned home (6 days later). I can’t say enough about her willingness to help and her kindness towards me during the process. Thanks so much, Ms. Keke.

Stayed one night at the hotel with my mom. Our room was a studio and was very spacious, well stocked and clean! Our room was comfortable and had that home away from home feel. We had everything we needed. All appliances worked perfectly. Front desk staff was welcoming and efficient at both check in and checkout. I was very impressed by the customer service of all hotel staff including maintenance who I observed on my floor. From the condition and upkeep of the room, i can tell maintenance works hard! Overall i would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again. 5 stars to all of the staff!

Great hotel located near Legacy on the South Side. The building was clean and well maintained. Comfortable bed and couch. Quiet and clean. Great for families. Tony at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had bagels, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee and fruit. The gentleman working the area did a great job keeping the breakfast area clean. Paid parking lot behind the building for $16.

Spent two nights at this hotel and was pleased with my choice. The room was clean and spacious. I will say the sleeper sofa was the most uncomfortable thing ever. I ended up making a bed on the chaise lounge part of the couch with one of the dining chairs for my feet. Luckily I’m short so it worked out perfectly with a great view of the tv. The lobby/breakfast had plenty of seating that was not on top of the next table. I didn’t try the breakfast but it appeared to have a good variety. The little market had your basics too. The location was great for me as it was walkable to restaurants and most important for me, at least one local coffee shop. The best thing about this hotel was definitely the staff. Every single person was super friendly and so helpful. These days customer service is not always pleasant, but it is at this hotel!!

My husband and I booked this hotel last minute due to the Southwest fiasco but I was so relieved to be here. Great customer service! Affordable price! And the best part was the spacious room. Would definitely go back!

Excellent Staff Great stay with Hilton brand its now Hilton Gardens. Breakfast is the best open buffet style free with room stay however omelet 22 dollars too expenses. No microwave in rooms. Excellent kitchen bar Area outdoor lounge area is beautiful and spacious Great gathering area. Parking is safe easy. For the money the best place to stay in Birmingham hands down. Rooms super clean comfortable beds quiet rooms just Great experience for family friends or just getaway for couples. Make this your number one spot in Birmingham you will enjoy granteed 100%. The best staff very friendly helpful and professional.

Stayed here at Residence Inn for 10 days on a business trip. The service was awesome. LaTara was the first person I met to check in and she was so kind, courteous and helpful throughout my entire stay. All the hotel staff was amazing! The room was excellent! The breakfast was very good and the staff preparing it, made it extra special. Thank you.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Staff was kind. The room was extremely clean and way bigger than I was expecting. 5 points, with access to several restaurants and coffee shops, was a short 5 min walk away. Fitness center had a great treadmill and all the essentials. I will absolutely be staying again.

Nice rooms other than the water damage in the kitchen. I loved the two bedroom suite option which made sharing a room with my parents much easier. Breakfast is amazing and service was incredibly friendly. The location is nice if you're visiting a student from UAB and is also located within walking distance from a lot of quality restaurants and bars.

Excellent hotel, very clean, reasonably priced for the downtown and central location, lots of amenities. We’ll definitely stay there next time in Birmingham! Staff was super friendly!

My stay here was extremely pleasant. From check in to check out, I was very pleased with my stay. The staff was welcoming, friendly and professional. I only booked one night but decided to stay another night because of the home feeling. The room was spacious, clean and ergonomically designed. I was able to cook, do laundry and I enjoyed the nice pool and laid out in the sun. The price of the hotel was very expensive but you can’t put a price on safety and comfortability. The breakfast was standard comfort food and only added to the convenient experience. Im so glad I found this hotel and anytime Im back I will definitely stay here!

One of the CLEANEST hotels I have ever stayed in and we travel often. Customer Service was superb! This is not common sense covid so I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed here before I had surgery at UAB the next day. It is two blocks from Kirkland Clinic and 6th Ave parking deck. The manager called after we arrived in our room to see if everything was good. They cared what we thought of their hotel and it showed. Harli at the desk when we checked in was awesome. THANK YOU FOR DOING SUCH A FINE JOB! Beds were super comfy, kitchen was nice. Even halls smelled super clean.

This was probably the best check-in process I have experienced. I wish I remembered her name, but she was outstanding and understands road weary travelers and provided great hospitality. As far as the rest of hotel, great location by college campus, walking distance to restaurants, spacious rooms and clean interior. Will choose again next time in Birmingham.

Had some issues with initial room and when I went to talk to the front desk they said no worries, didn't need to go into list and that they would just give me a different room; which was great since I have a five-night stay. I told them what their maintenance could fix and then they told me to look at new room first and let them know. New room didn't have the issues and very happy. I normally don't use room service, so no room service is not an issue for me, though I miss the "green room" extra points. Thanks covid 🤬

Now for why 5-stars...the staff. I use to travel weekly and just getting one or two nice and professional personnel was a plus. Here, they're all above and beyond, front-desk, morning breakfast staff, and all. I will get a few names later, if allowed, but stay for this southern hospitality. There is a very good chance I will be here many times over the next 4 years and this staff has more than earned my future stays. Thank you!

I got a king suite for my daughter's sweet 16 sleepover on Sept. 11th and the lady working morning shift was extremely helpful and pleasant. I didn't have much interaction with the lady on night shift, but I can say she paid attention when I was at the front door to let me in quickly. I would definitely get another room at this location. Everything was clean.

I've stayed here twice and both times have been very positive experiences for me.

As with all Residence Inn's, all the rooms are suites and they are incredible spacious and offer an absurd amount of square footage. I don't think you could get a better room for ~$99 a night if you tried.

The hotel offers a very nice lobby with a gym, indoor pool, Sunday store, and seating area for breakfast. Speaking of, they have a wide selection of free breakfast ranging from cereal and grits to muffins and boiled eggs. The staff are very courteous and will help answer any and all questions that you may have.

A personal story I'd like to share - during my last stay I had lost a very valuable and small item. I only realized it half a day after checking out of the hotel and I made it all the way back, worried that housekeeping would accidentally throw it out. I went straight to the front desk and, after 10 minutes of nerve-racking walkie-talkie calls, they had found what I lost. I'll never forget them for their help and I'm incredibly grateful.

If I were visiting UAB or the City of Birmingham and I wanted something affordable and with the best value, I'd stay here.

Not enough employees to provide proper room service. Had to take my own trash outside to the dumpster. If you're not a pet lover this is not the place for you. Plenty of dogs on the property. This is a pet friendly property.
