Hassinger Daniels Mansion Bed and Breakfast

We absolutely loved our stay! The Seraphim room was cozy and comfortable, perfect for the 2 of us. The room and entire facility is very clean. The antiques and furnishings are beautiful! Truly a unique and historic place to stay. Breakfast was lovely and we met really nice people. And really enjoyed Sheila’s stories! Although our room was on the street, traffic was quiet after 10 or 11 (I also have a white noise app I use when traveling). I highly recommend Hassinger and would stay again!

Sheila was an amazing host and owner of this house. She goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and like your at home. This is a one of a kind place and if you have a chance to stay I wouldn't hesitate. Breakfast was amazing too.

I love to tour old mansions and I have visited several mansions on the east coast, but this was my first time 'staying in one', so the experience was terrific 💯👍😁 the mansion is well maintained, the host was superb, and the breakfast was delicious 🤤

I made great memories in this house and if I ever come back to Birmingham, I won't hesitate to stay here again 😇 I definitely recommend this place 👍🤩

P.S. I stayed in the Victorian Chamber. It's located on the first floor and it was very spacious.

We had a great time at this Bed & Breakfast! It was a very unique experience that I would recommend at least once. There is a lot of history here and the host does a wonderful job ensuring everyone feels welcomed!

A hidden gem! The building is a late 19th century classic diamond wedding band. Every room, every wall, every corner sparkles with brilliant eye catching beauty; telling the story of the family that was built there. A blue sapphire ribbon for the simple and precise execution of checking in/out, safety. The glamorous table for breakfast that served old fashion conversations with new acquaintances across a beautifully prepared breakfast. The crown jewels of the experience goes to the host. Ruby hair and emerald eyes only begins to measure her passion for hospitality. Stay one night, spend a week, you'll never go back to franchised accommodations again.

This is the greatest place EVER a must stay. It be perfect for Wedding Sheila is Awesome I love her.

What a unbelievable beautiful mansion! Everything was so perfect thanks to Ms.Sheila! Breakfast was amazing the bed was so comfortable all the furniture is exquisite! The sweet lady that made our breakfast is such a great cook! We are planning our next trip! She has definitely put her heart and soul into her establishment.

We had a very nice 1 night stay here. Nice room and the surrounding area was clean and seemed safe to walk around at night...breakfast was very good and host very professional and friendly ...a great stay for something different besides a hotel and get some history...

Delightful mansion with outstanding attention to detail everywhere you look. Sadly, we missed breakfast due to a doctor's appointment, but can only imagine it was delicious. When a table is set for elegance they aren't serving frozen dinners. The porch and garden are begging for a glass of wine or a cup of tea and are regrets are the lack of time to enjoy just that! The most wonderful surprise was seeing the illuminated Vulcan sculpture from our bedroom window. We'll be back!!

Let’s start with some of the negatives I’ve read in the review section… I would personally say that most of those people that complained did not pay attention to the style of bed & breakfast this is when they booked or they just like tarnishing a locally owned business’ reputation.

That may sound harsh but Sheila works very hard (you can clearly tell) to ensure that people there feel welcome and comfortable. She can tell you so much history about the building, surrounding area and even the city. She is very sweet and accommodating. No this is not like a Holiday Inn. No this is not like an air b&b or even a regular b&b. That’s what makes it a fun and unique experience.

The room was great just don’t expect every commodity a hotel room would have. That is the exact reason you chose this place though right? That’s what makes it great. It was unlike any other stay I’ve experienced. The place as a whole is very secure and I felt very safe during our stay and coming and leaving the mansion. The interior was also very refreshing and visually pleasing each time we returned from our adventures (dinner, concert, bar.. etc).

The location is also centrally located in Birmingham and pretty convenient. Plenty of restaurants and shops are walkable but our particular agenda had us driving 5-10 minutes each time which was still very convenient. Parking is slightly tight in the available parking but I don’t think that it’s unreasonable. Again, this is a very unique property. There’s not a giant hotel parking lot waiting for you here.

Overall, I find it hard to write anything negative here because I am happy to see a hard working person such as Sheila do so well at something so special; restoring and preserving a mansion ALONE (her & her husband started this project together but he has since passed) and doing a damn great job on top of that. We loved our stay and will definitely return if we find ourselves in Birmingham again.

Wonderful accommodations! The mansion is historic and lovely, filled with endless charm.

The daily breakfast is delicious, with sparkling conversation from the other guests and Sheila (the proprietor).

Speaking of Sheila, she is an absolute delight. She is kind, lovely, wonderful to talk to, accommodating, and flexible.

Truly a special and unique place! As a return guest, we are just as awestruck at the loving attention to detail as the first visit. We have lived all over the world and found Hassinger Daniel’s mansion one of the most unique places we’ve found. Sheila has curated a gorgeous mansion filled with exquisite antiques filling every room each telling a different story! We loved the Southern Belle room filled with beautiful antique gowns -see if you can find the hidden wedding gown. Truly a memorable experience sleeping in a living antique filled mansion. And Shelia’s gracious hospitality is not to be missed at a lovely morning Breakfast family style together. We will be back again!

My sister and I stayed here on road trip from Texas to Pennsylvania and loved it. The breakfast was amazing and it was nice to be inside a house rather than the hotel. We could feel the history of Birmingham in the house and the host was so welcoming. Gorgeous house and I ended up going on a few walks around the neighborhood and city and had a great time. Would love to stay again.

Such a beautiful place to stay! I stayed in the Peacock room last night and it was lovely. The bed and sheets were so comfortable! The breakfast was DELICIOUS! This was my first time ever at a B&B and I loved every moment of it. The wifi was very fast and easily accessible as well. I highly recommend a stay! Next time I need a break from home I’ll be checking in again :)

The place is beautiful and you really feel like you have stepped back in time. The kitchen staff Loraine was very nice and hospitable when we interrupted her cooking to ask for coffee very early in the morning and you felt very at home. The Garden view with the 4 poster bed is the most comfortable sleep I have had in months. I would love to stay there longer next time as It has such a lovely feel to it. It is just beautiful and was very clean. Love love loved it! Thank you Sheila for making us feel special and well taken care of.

What a historical landmark! A great experience that taught me a lot about Birmingham's past. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique bed and breakfast experience.
