BASECOAT on Fifth Nail Spa

Got a very beautiful basic manicure here! I waited less than 10 minutes before they were ready to start. The guy who did my service was great! He took my nails from eagle talons to uniformed and polished! He was very hospitable and professional! It was a great place to get away and do a little something for myself!

I have to say that Basecoat is the Best Nail Salon in the Birmingham area! I've always had great service on my nails, but its the lovely staff that make me feel welcome. Thank you for a lovely "spa like"- atmosphere.❤

The experience was very professional, they had multiple ladies there readily available to provide services so there was no wait on a SATURDAY, for me that’s huge! The atmosphere was very nice and friendly each chair had a nice gap between the others where you didn’t feel like you had to look at someone else’s service just because your so close like the typical salon. I really enjoyed the experience Basecoat provided definitely will be back soon!

The nail tech was great. Got a manicure and pedicure. My feet on point now. And as a pianist I have to keep my nails trimmed and she took extra care. Definitely returning.

I just had a great experience getting my nails done at basecoat. I am traveling for work and needed to get my nails done so I found this place online and it’s close to my hotel. I am so glad I found it! It’s a beautiful facility, and my nails have never looked better! I wish I got the name of the person who did my nails because she is absolutely phenomenal. The color selection is top notch ( I got Dip) and everyone is so nice. Only issue is I don’t live in Alabama! If you’re looking to have beautiful nails with a pleasant experience don’t look any further! This will be a must stop each time I come to Alabama.

It takes a little while to get started. But Andrew did a great job on my nails. He was very polite and professional. He kept asking me if my nails looked the way I wanted during each step to make sure I was satisfied!

I got a gel manicure and it was so well done! The shop is clean and bright and adorable! My nails are gorgeous! I don’t love small talk and I was never pressured, not once in any way, to attempt conversation. My nail tech was content to work on my nails while I watched a show on the TV behind him and we had a peaceful 45 minute appointment. That, above everything else, matters the most to me. It was just nice not to have to force small talk with a stranger because that’s what’s usually done.

I have been meaning to try this salon since their opening…so happy I did!!! Very boutique!! Very plush!! Very relaxing environment!!! My nail artist was simply phenomenal!!

Close proximity to my hotel, easy three block walk from the Hilton on 20th. Very easy to book an appt via their online portal. Check in was smooth and nail tech did a great job of cleaning up my previous gel manicure as it was a mess. I won’t be back in Birmingham at all, but if I do end up here, I would go again. Highly recommend. The only bad thing that I could see is they don’t have massaging chairs for pedicures 😑

It was so cute and clean, to start off. I got taken back right at my appt time. Letty did my nails and she did such an amazing job. The acrylic wasn’t too thick or thin, the shape is exactly what I asked for as well as the design!! Overall I was impressed with this place! I’ll definitely be coming back.

I’ve recently switched salons and let me tell you, my experience was WONDERFUL. First, the salon itself is clean and stylish. It made me feel luxurious just walking in lol They operate by appointment mostly (which I LOVE), and after I signed in I was greeted by Eily almost immediately. I went in for a fill and walked out with practically a brand new set. Eily reshaped my nails(I only wear stiletto) and they looked amazing before she even put the polish on, I was blown away! I gave her a vague idea of how I wanted my nails done and told her she can take the wheel, she was excited to be creative and it shows in her work. She puts a lot of care and love into what she does! I’ve found my new nail tech and will not be going anywhere else, she’s amazing 🖤🖤

I highly recommend this place! I had high expectations but was nervous since I had never been before. They were extremely nice and recommended what would fit best for my needs and wants and my nail tech hand painted these designs and it's literally a mirror image of the picture I showed her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ❤❤

The atmosphere is simple and modern, making it easy to relax. My mom and I each received a Classic Pedicure. Both nail technicians were friendly and paid great attention to detail. We were both well taken care of and look forward to going back! Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!

I always have a great experience at this nail salon. The aesthetic is beautiful and the techs are all meticulous. I never leave there disappointed in the quality or with crookedly-filed nails. On several occasions I’ve had techs go out of their way to do things that took extra time so that the final product was excellent. AND you can book online. A huge plus! I’ll go back again and again.

I’ve been going here for a while and am always pleased with my experience. I got a gel pedicure today and the girl really took her time did a fantastic job. I’ll definitely be requesting her for my next pedicure as well!

I got a gel mani and I loved it! I can’t wait to come back; they did such a great job in my cuticles and took extra care with the nails. It was about $50!
