Mackey made me feel brand new with my blonde balayage!! I loved the vibe of the salon, how sweet everyone was, and how they promote inclusiveness which is something I had never really seen promoted in an salon I have used! I will definitely be recommending him as well as orbit to all my friends who need a new hairstylist or salon to call home!

Mackey is the best! He always does a great job on my pixie cut and everyone is so welcoming and nice. The plants in the waiting area are amazing! And all the local art for sale. I love the inclusive pricing. It's the main reason I chose to go here!

Mackey & Veraneka are amazing! I came in with a botched “split dye “ from a different salon, having a hair emergency & they totally SAVED my hair. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. The environment was super cute. They gave me exactly what I wanted & I walked away so happy I came! I will definitely be coming back. ❤

Fantastic experience! The hair dresser listened to me and gave some feedback, until we settled on a cut I was happy with. They made me feel very comfortable, gave me a haircut I am very excited about (having several bad haircuts in the past I had given up on achieving a look I wanted), and was reasonably priced.

10/10 I would recommend it and happily go back for all my haircuts.

This was my first visit to Orbit. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had come to the right place, Joe check me in, he was super friendly, helpful and very sincere. He even helped me pick out a print that I purchased for my wife. Mackey was my stylist. He is such an awesome guy, very friendly. I got a cut, shampoo and style.
I told him how I normally wear my hair, but feel free to do something a little different. He went with it, cut my hair a wee bit different to help with styling and I absolutely love it. I am so happy with my experience, it's nice to see customer service still means something. I have already booked my next appointment and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Orbit Salon has quickly become one of my favorite places in the city, and due in no small part to Mackey. He is so kind and so reassuring during the appointment that I feel completely safe being my authentic self, and the cuts (gender neutral undercut) and color I’ve received have been truly out of this world! Every person that works there is so warm and welcoming that I truly felt appreciated and loved when I left. If you are looking for a salon, you’ve found it!

Peter has been styling my hair for over 5 years now. If you or anyone you know needs an Asian stylist, Peter is the person for you. Even when Peter was on leave, three different stylists covered me and all did an excellent job. Everyone at Orbit is so sweet. The salon is an affirming space for queer folks. I appreciate that their pricing is done by type of hair style rather than gender: “women’s cut/men’s cut” is “long hair cut/short hair cut”. I was paying other salons a ridiculous amount of money for a similar hair cut that a man was getting for $30 less.

Mackey at Orbit Salon is the only person I’ll let cut my hair! He does the best fade in Bham! He is very precise and never feels rushed, plus he always makes sure he knows exactly what you want. Definitely recommend!

I have gone there several times now and every time I have been very pleased. Each time I have kind of ask for a different type of hair cut and they have nailed it every time. After covid and a lot of places were still closed I went to a well known barber shop just to get a trim and even that just made me realize how much better the stylist at orbit were. Prices don’t break the bank either! Even if I get a bad hair cut there (which I don’t expect to) I’ll still go back because of how well they treat you and that the mistake is for sure a one off at this point.

I’ve been to Dylan twice and both times she had exceeded my expectations. She is really honest about what haircut works best and brings my color visions to life. I get so many compliments on my hair and it’s all thanks to Dylan!

I used to always leave my salon appointments being "okay" with how my hair turned out after spending $200-$250 (blonde=high maintenance) and never really LOVING my color or cut. That was until I found Orbit! I book my appointments with Kaitlin and I have LOVED my color and cut every time I leave my appointment. It is nice knowing I have a set stylist now that I can trust with my hair and I always know that I will love the outcome! I highly recommend Orbit and anyone on their staff. The atmosphere is so laid back and comfortable. And Joe is so nice!

Peter is who will be cutting my hair for as long as he works in the state of Alabama. He is personable and extremely professional. He's great at conversation and keeping the entire process fun and comfortable. I love my hair. It's different from how I normally style my hair and I'm so glad he is the one to give me EXACTLY what I wanted. He made sure I was happy every step of the way. Not too mention the pricing is beyond reasonable for the quality experience. Also, want to mention how serious they are taking PPE measures during COVID. I walked in and the entire place smelled like cleaning products. I felt safe that they were taking their customers health and safety seriously. As well as their own. I love this place.

I love Orbit and Kaitlin. I have gone and come back to her over the years. She is one of the best and shes definitely my hair person for life. I cant wait until its safe for me to get my hair done again. I would highly recommend anyone in this salon.

I always come here, but this is my first time writing a review. Chance is the guy that cut my hair, and, as per the usual, he gave me one of the best haircuts imaginable. Chance has an eye for details and is the best stylist that I’ve had cut my hair there. He’s always good at keeping up a conversation and makes me look forward to my next haircut.
