MAE Studio

Christian at MAE studio did hair and makeup for my wedding recently. She is AMAZING!! So personable and laid back. Everyone loved her and her energy. She did a beautiful job and exactly what everyone asked.

My mom never wears makeup and immediately rubbed her eyes, not thinking about her false lashes, after Christian finished. Christian didn’t skip a beat and was like, “No big! Come sit down and I’ll fix it!”. We were all sad to see her leave when she was done, because she was so easy and has such a calming presence. I would recommend her to anyone.

MAE studio was also very easy to communicate with and extremely timely with responses. Overall so happy with my experience!!

I love this salon! Impeccable customer service & amazing staff members! Everyone was so accommodating & sweet. I had Emily & she’s one of the sweetest people ever. I had a cut & color & went out of my comfort zone & she made the whole experience worth it! I finally got wispy bangs & they’re perfect! She’s also very kind to my daughter & I’m so grateful for that. Will definitely be a regular for haircuts, etc from now on! 10/10 recommend !

Mae is so much more than a hair studio. It's a gathering place, excellent conversation, skilled women with a gorgeous eye for detail with hair and your confidence and a little shop inside to treat yourself to an extra goody or three! I will not stop recommending them and I've never been so excited to go back in a few weeks.

I recently got married and used Mae x Irrelephant Bridal for hair and makeup. They were absolutely AMAZING. Christian, Emily, and their whole team was delightful on the day of the wedding and all the planning lead up to it! I could not have been happier with my hair and makeup. They listened to every detail, took every critique easily, and everyone felt heard the day of. I would happily use them for any hair and makeup moving forward and would recommend them to anyone who asked. I could not have picked a better group!! Pricing was reasonable as well and my makeup and hair stayed in tact all night long - it was a day wedding in June and we were out late! Very happy with everything irrelephant bridal accomplished!

I love going to Mae. Always been a good experience and I’ve never been able to care for or style my hair better. I have always loved the cut when I leave as well, which is a semi-new sensation. All around fantastic and highly recommend for any man (or woman).

Had my first appointment with Jaisy Ray and I'm so happy! I'm naturally blonde but always like to look a bit "fresher" or "brighter" so I opt for a balayage. Jaisy nailed it. I asked her to tone/style my hair however she thought would look best and I was really impressed with the final result. My hair looks so much more healthy and bright now, while also maintaining that natural look. I had great interactions with the rest of the staff as well. Highly recommend MAE Studio and Jaisy Ray!

My absolute favorite salon!! Everyone there is so friendly and helpful! Jaisy has been doing my hair for almost 2 years now and I will never trust anyone else with my hair again! My hair is naturally very dark and when I wanted to go blonde she was very specific on how it would turn out and what the process would be like to get me there. I have now gone back to dark hair and once again I’m in love with her work!! You definitely will not be disappointed no matter what you get done!

Oh my word! This studio is the best they have cut my hair,my husband’s and today my two kids got their first haircuts ever! Rebekah is amazing and I’m sooo impressed by her skill with my little ones. Also, she did an incredible job on my hair too. Hillary is so great and gives the most wonderful customer service. And Christian did the most amazing cut on my husband who had really long hair and now it’s shoulder length! I love the whole experience and environment here. Look no further, book an appointment now! WOWOWOWOW! Y’all. RUN don’t walk to get into this hair salon!!! Do you want to feel like you’re in a gorgeous, luxurious spa that also doubles as a chic boutique you might stumble upon in Williamsburg when you go to get your hair cut? Look no further! The place is lovely, SO welcoming, and filled with beautiful and talented stylists. I received—NO EXAGERATION—the best haircut of my life from Rebekah, who is both a queen and a miracle worker. I am so grateful to her! She made me feel super welcome and comfortable and I felt like she really heard me when I expressed the particularities of my hair. Definitely worth the drive from Huntsville! Best haircut in my 52 years of life, and I've been seeing hair dressers in the same price range for many years. The haircut was technically excellent, but the experience was so much more than that. Morgan looked at my facial features and hair texture and understood my lifestyle. She created exactly the style I needed, even though I didn't know how to put it into words. The MAE salon atmosphere is very relaxing!

This was my first time ever getting my hair done , and I love it! I had Jaisy and she was so sweet and as we talked about life , she did an amazing blonde/strawberry ginger balayage on my hair. It looks so beautiful! The staff was so kind and made me feel welcome. I even got to drink coffee and read Vouge !

I absolutely adore MAE studio, their products and staff. I have found no one who can cut/color my hair like Christian here. You get a quality cut and color that lasts. The products they sell are great quality and aesthetically pleasing. I live in Auburn but when I need my hair cut or colored I drive back to Birmingham because it’s that great.

Okay I literally never leave reviews but I felt like I needed to about this place. It is so clean, so beautiful, SUCH a good vibe. Christian cut and colored my hair and did a PHENOMENAL job — best hair cut and color I’ve ever gotten. On top of that, she had the sweetest spirit of anyone I’ve ever known so I left feeling like I’d just bonded with someone which is even better than just a haircut. On top of that, every single person that works there is an angel. They’re all so beautiful, so kind, literally precious in every way. I wish I could be a millionaire so I could buy everyone there a mansion or something hahaha for real everyone get your butt to this studio. THE BOMB.

I just moved to Birmingham and several friends had recommended Mae. There was a great vibe in the salon, kind and courteous staff from my interaction on the phone to make the appointment as well as during my appointment. Everyone in the salon was masked, which I appreciated. I had a great cut/style with Rebekah.

I love Mae Studio! The beautiful ladies - Morgan (the owner) and Macee - did hair and makeup for my wedding day a couple of weeks ago and I could not say enough good things about them. The whole atmosphere Morgan has created is so beautiful and accepting. They exhibit true beauty, and they encourage women to be fully confident in themselves. As someone who experienced their coming of age years in the early 2000s when straightened bleached hair was the standard- I haven’t ever really found a salon to call “Home” until now. Mae has become that home for me- understanding that not all hair should be treated the same. I love my romantic and effortless look that requires little maintenance and I feel like my best self for the first time ever. Thank you Morgan and your team of wonderous women✨ Will be back soon!

The salon is very easy to find and parking is plentiful (they will give you a token at the front desk for free parking in the lot across the street) Everyone in there is SO nice and welcoming.

Jaisy did an amazing job with my haircut and color correction. She asked a lot of questions to make sure she understood what I wanted and it came out perfect!

Jaisy is the person who I trust most with my hair. She’s always embraced my ideas and always makes me appreciate the hair I have. My thick hair has never intimidated her which is so nice and I know she’ll always do a great job regardless of what idea I have next. Jaisy is awesome!
