Birmingham Tree House

We have traveled to Birmingham a few times a year since 2019, typically stay in hotels in proximity to UAB but have also enjoyed AirBnB's in Avondale and elsewhere.

Tree House was a great experience and will be at the top of our list for the next trip. Great location, wonderful hospitality and the accommodations were clean and comfortable.

Truly a beautiful house & lovely stay! A very relaxing place! The owners are so welcoming & I had everything I needed! Extremely clean, cozy & conveniently located. My room was super cute with a personalized message on my bed! The sleeping porch was perfect to watch summer storms. Serene rooms downstairs for peaceful yoga sessions. I definitely recommend!

Summed up in one word: quirky.
But absolutely delightful. A unique space that celebrates creativity and creating a feeling of introspection and curiosity.
Does it need a few things tightened up? Yep. Did it impact the experience? No.
So book a room if you appreciate having two Giraffe onesies in your closet instead of robes, a gorgeous shared space with huge windows for lounging or reading, and just enough quirks to make you wonder what is the next thing that will put a smile on your face.

We had a great time. The house is lovely and very clean. The house decorations were adorable!. You can tell the owner put a lot of love into it because of all the details. When I come back to Birmingham. I will stay at the treehouse!

Our stay was a fantastic stop on the way to our final destination. Great location. Zen Den is a great space. Very quiet. Comfortable for two people. We would stay again in a second.

Staying in this charming historic home is a must, especially if you have a larger group! I was in town for a family event for which I rented almost the whole house. Each room is unique, but equally comfortable. Renny made sure we had everything we needed and was readily available, but otherwise left us to enjoy our time together. There are multiple areas where we could gather in larger or smaller groups, and the sunroom is a lovely spot in the morning for a cup of coffee. The central location in Southside made for an easy walk to Five Points or a short drive to everywhere we wanted to go. Everyone in my group of 11 commented on what a great job we did in choosing a place to stay. If you are looking for a place to share with a few friends or family, stop looking and make a reservation!

The Tree House was lovely! The house was easy to find and park at, the key code to get inside was easy to use, and the house itself was beautiful and comfortable. I stayed in the water room and loved all the decorations and the comfortable bed. The sitting area was great for relaxing, and there were plenty of nearby places to eat and get delicious coffee. I would definitely stay again!

What a peaceful weekend spent in my very own backyard. I've lived in Birmingham since 2004, but never have I stayed at a place quite like this. So relaxing, accommodating, and just what I needed to celebrate a birthday with my significant other. Perfect setting for a nice, quiet couples weekend or a group retreat if some restoration is what you all need. There were plenty of amenities, including the adorable breakfast station that was grab and go. The room had everything else we needed to make the weekend as stress free as possible. Thank you so much, Renny, for bringing this serene haven to our city!

My mom and I stayed in the I Am Air room, and we had a wonderful stay! The house was so beautiful, and our room was so cozy! Renny made sure we had everything we needed! The snacks, breakfast, bottled water, and coffee were a nice touch! So much better than any boring hotel! We’d love to come stay again!!!

We stayed in the "Zen Den" room, which had a very fun yet chill theme. The bed and pillows were pretty comfy, and a couple bathrobes were also provided. We did not see a thermostat in the room, but the room seemed to be the perfect temperature for us (if I had to guess the room was probably set at 70º if not a little less). Although we happen to like a good air conditioner, if you get cold easily, there were plenty of blankets as well.

The bathroom was cleaned and well-stocked. There were more than enough towels for the two of us, and they were better than your average hotel towel.

In the common area of the house, there are a few different spaces with room to do yoga or other workouts that can easily be done on a mat. The house is a victorian-style home but with creative paint choices and artwork. I appreciated that it seems they kept the original architecture and the spirit of the home, but incorporated the yoga theme and eclectic style.

Check in was easy, as I received a text with the door code early in the day. Since our door was around the back, we actually didn't really have to check in or interact with anyone. The host's messages were friendly and welcoming. We didn't really bump into anyone since we weren't there for long and only popped into the common area for a little bit to check it out and do a brief workout before hitting the road.

We were only there for one night since this was just a road trip and we were just passing through, but if we came back up this way we would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved this place! It really is a place to escape and refresh. Super clean and could feel all the heart poured into this place. My only complaint is my daughters soccer schedule didn’t allow time for us to really enjoy the perks. Will have to come back.

This is a true gem in Birmingham. I was looking for a safe and relaxing space to get some rest during my week of solo travel. This place went beyond all my expectations. The Air Room was extremely well decorated, the bed was super comfy and the vintage bathroom made me feel at home.
The common spaces are well designed and you can journal in a beautiful environment while savoring a delicious (and complimentary!) home-made granola parfait. Renny is a wonderful host. She suggested that I joined the morning yoga class that she teaches every Wednesday and I am so glad I did! Thank you Renny and Tree for hosting me 🌟

The Tree House is pet friendly, which means so much to me! The yard is also enclosed for pets to walk around off leash.

The location is also amazing! Very close to the UAB Hospital and Iron City (the music venue).

The home itself is gorgeous! Each room is decorated differently! I’ll definitely be back for a 4th visit soon, I hope!!

Such a lovely oasis within easy walking distance of Birmingham's Five Points South! It's cozy and comfortable with free parking and it's dog-friendly too.

I can't say enough how wonderful Birmingham Tree House is. I happened to stumble upon it while looking for a place to stay and I am so happy I did. Renny, the owner, contacted me a few times and responded quickly when I had questions. Our room and restroom were immaculately clean. This is one thing that turned me away from so many of the other hotels in the area. There are several rooms to choose from. We were in the Earth Room. We were only there for one night but wished we could've stayed longer to enjoy the yoga and the beauty of the house. The location is perfect and very quiet. Thank you Renny for a pleasant stay! We will be back!

We had a fantastic stay here. Renny was a marvellous host and her mansion is spectacular. The rooms were all beautiful as were the common spaces. Coffee/tea whenever we wanted, thoughtful snacks and ample breakfast foods were a nice touch. The opportunity to do yoga in the morning with Renny was amazing as was her dog Tree who quietly watched us! We will happily visit again.

The entire premise had a very relaxed Zen vibe. As a retired couple,we enjoy traveling, seeing historic sights, and architecture. The Tree house is in a nice area and easy travel to all the sights. If you're looking for a Four Season, 5 star hotel, this is not the stay for you. If you're looking for a mellow, laid back, zen inspired atmosphere, you should definitely consider the Tree House. We stayed here 2 nights,. Everything was so peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended

If you want a typical hotel stay, this is not it... this is so much better!

You not only get the safety, cleanliness, and convenient location, but you really get a sense of peace and community. As a solo female traveler with my life in my car, I had a particularly rough last couple of days and it was my last night on the road. Lucky for me, I stayed on a wednesday night when they have yoga and a community potluck.

I felt so much joy and belonging there, and we even played games after dinner. It was so great to connect with other travelers and locals alike. I not only got the physical rest I needed here, but I got some soul rest as well. And the icing on the cake? It was less expensive than other pet friendly places in the area, but with 5 times the charm!

Anytime I'm in birmingham, I will be back to stay at Treehouse :)
The room was so cozy and spacious! It was like having a little apartment to myself. And there was even a sitting area on the porch. I stayed in the Zen Den and truly felt zen.

Tree House in Bham is amazing!! The owners are very communicative and the place is exactly how it is advertised. I would definitely stay here again if I am visiting in the area. A+++

The tree house exceeded our expectations. We stayed in room Earth. It was cozy and the perfect romantic getaway we were looking for this trip. We even could dim the lighting. It felt extremely private and homey at the same time. Although we didn't get to participate in yoga, Renny was an amazing host. She provided sparkling water, little tid bit treats that were different each day and her fur baby Tree was refreshing to have around. There's was one day we lounged on the patio for hours and we felt extremely at peace. Do I recommend staying here, 100%.
Ps: One of the questions I was concerned about prior to booking was would we hear others in their room or would they hear us (considering this was a home and not hotel). We heard zero interruptions during our stay, it was extremely serene.
