Carlin Villa Motel

Great place, clean well managed old school hotel. Our truck broke down at the place and they allowed us to keep a truck and trailer at the property for over a month. Owners are very nice people. Thank you so much! Deyan with Boost Carriers!

Is it the Hilton? No. It is however clean and comfortable enough for a night or two. AC works well. Shower plenty hot. By far the most conveniently located lodging to where we are visiting, and an incredible bargain.

The staff was expecting our group and had a cooler of water and soda waiting for us. They were pleasant and allowed us to use the common room for our group. The hotel is very dated, but was clean and economical. The staff at the Motel was truly great and went above and beyond to be welcoming.

We stayed here over night for a softball tournament! Lady who checked me in was so friendly! Of course it’s an older hotel, but it’s clean and comfy! We will stay again if in the area!!softball has is in hotels often, and this one is cleaner and more friendly compared to many of the big name chain hotels we stay in!

The couple that runs the place were very nice. We had a big group of us on a trip. They gave us our own space as to not bother anyone else and have our privacy. Place was a bit outdated but added to the nostalgia. We got free refreshments and cookies on arrival. Would highly recommend staying here in this cute little middle American city!

Clean, neat, complete with microwave and mini fridge. Staff is very friendly, cleaned my room daily even though they didn't have to. Reasonable price for what you get. Its an older place, as long as you're ok with that, you'll be fine.

Roomy, very clean rooms. Great coffee and muffins in the morning. Extremely friendly staff. We called a few hours before we arrived. The owner turned on our air conditioning for us so it would be nice and cool after a hot day on the road. Phenomenal prices. We were given adjoining rooms with refrigerators and microwaves as well. I highly recommend this awesome stop on historic Route 66!

Nice, clean room for a great price! Staff was friendly. While the rooms are a little dated, they were clean and huge! Comfy beds.

Stayed here during a trip down Rt. 66. It is a basic motel, but very clean & comfortable. The owners are very nice and accommodating. It was like a flash from the past which is just what we were looking for on our trip. I forgot a pair of earrings in our room. The owners found them and graciously sent them to me -- at their expense, wrapped in bubble wrap, in a bubble wrap envelope. Now that's awesome customer service! If you don't need the frills, I highly recommend the CarlinVilla Motel!

I stayed at the Carlinvilla for 4 nights this past week. My son's wedding was happening across the field from the hotel. Not only was it convenient, they were lovely hosts. They couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. My room was clean and ready. Much of my family and many attendees of the wedding stayed there too and had compliments for the owners.
I would highly recommend staying there if you are passing through.

Best little Sweep-You-Back-In-Time-Motel! Oh goodness what an absolutely charming place. CLEAN. SMALL ROOMS. MODEST. ADORABLE. VINTAGE 60S-70S-80S-90S decor. Fireplace in the main room. Nicest owners. Low price. REAL ACTUAL ROOM KEYS. I'll stay there every year from here on out when we set up for the Carlinville Winter Market.
Go see these nice people. Go. You'll feel like you've stepped into a Supernatural TV motel. Go...stay.

For those of us who relish the experience of staying in a well kept vintage motor court, the Carlinvilla is about as good as it gets. it is mpeccably clean and tidy inside and out. This is the only motor court I've ever visited that has a lobby that I actually would not mind spending some time in It is very quiet and serene here. No noise from the neighbors and the in-room heat (presumably hot water type but totally concealed) is silent. This is my third time staying here and I would highly recommend it to anyone who desires the genuine Route 66 experience.

Bad reviews are way exadurated. It's a old place don't expect a fancy hotel. Stay for the history. Great shape for its age my room was great

A very quaint mom and pop motel. The rooms are always clean, the grounds are very nice and kept up, the owners are also some of the nicest , sweetest people you'll ever meet. Close to town and a route 66 treasure!

Carlinvilla is an older motel, but the owners keep it clean and well maintained. Very convenient to all points in Carlinville. I've stayed here for 1-2 weeks every year for about 10 years on business. I wish all the older (less expensive ) motels were as nice as this one!

If I ever come thru here again, definitely will stay again. My truck is in the shop here in town.

Small town motel. Reasonable rates. I've stayed here several times now and like it. Microwave and mini fridge/freezer in room. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast is minimal, but I don't mind.

Our experience was that this is a nice, clean, SAFE, quiet, affordable mid-20th century Motel. The staff went out of their way to make everything nice and even memorable for us. It is, in many ways, a true "Time Capsule". We WILL be back.
If your looking for the REAL "retro" life, this is the place. If your going to complain about how this is not like a modern Holiday Inn, then keep your "corporate self" away from here. "You won't like it, and, it won't like You". (7UP, 1960)

Stopped there on a trip, and had a great experience. Great place to kick it for the night, no complaints. Staff was great!
